My son had a flat on the interstate. The jack that comes with the car just was a piece of garbage. Larry showed up with the right equipment and, five minutes later, the spare was on. Nice guy, Johnny-on-the-spot. If I hadn't been flat out of cash, I would have tipped him a twenty right then and there. read more

Calling Pop-A-Lock was the worst decision I've made in a long time. While locked of my apartment, I began to look for a good locksmith. Before I could look up a locksmith, a friend recommended Pop-A-Lock. So I tried them. Huge mistake. When I call, an AI bot answers the call and says a technician will arrive in 30-60 minutes. I believed them. I call back an hour later inquiring about my service. The AI tries to cancel my transaction just for calling. After convincing it not to cancel, it says a technician will be there in 30 minutes. Nobody shows. I wait 30 minutes and call back to find out that they will not have anyone available until 6 am the next mornin. This place is definitely overrated. They are not professional or fast. You could wait all night like I am doing right now. There are plenty of locksmith services available, and it seems this business has gotten too big to give good customer service to every customer. So, I wouldn't be so quick to call this place if I were you. There are plenty of locksmiths in the Hoover area who value their customers. I personally will never call this place again. The way I was treated was completely unacceptable. I hope no one else has had an experience like mine or has one in the future. This is just express my complete and total frustration and to warn those who go out of their way, like I did, to call a dependable locksmith. For me, obviously Pop-A-Lock ain't it. Sincerely, A very disappointed former customer read more

Requested a jump start for my car and waited for over an hour. Once the ETA was 15 min past, I called the company and was informed they canceled the request due to an issue with the jumper cables. Embarrassingly pathetic communication. Then I was forced to start the process over again with a different, more reliable company. read more

I locked myself out and it took less than 40 minutes to have someone come out after 9pm on a Friday. I was very pleased with the cost. I had paid double with a different company a few years back and that company also damaged my door. Pop A Lock was professional and fast. I recommend them the next time you get locked out. read more

Great service. They were great at communicating with me. Hope to not need them in the future but won't hesitate to if the need arises. Thanks pop a lock Birmingham. read more

I wish I could give you all a zero! My sister had a flat tire this week and get service came out and installed her spare tire. But the technician half-ass tightened the lug nuts! The spare tire flew off at a rate of speed less than 20 miles per hour into the neighbor's bushes! read more

You know normally they give the best service. I sat out in the cold for two hours. Every time I called they were annoyed I was calling. Every ten minutes after they were supposed to arrive I would ask them to get the servicer call me. He never did. The app was "glitched" they said so I couldn't even see where he was. But after waiting two hours I called the police and I was gone in ten minutes. So I suggest asking the police if anyone is available to help unlock your car before calling them. I was very late to work, and because they could never tell me when they were going to be there I couldn't let work know when I'd finally be there. Most frustrating experience ever. I wish I could rate 0 stars. You need to hire people who respect customers instead of leaving them in the cold with their weenie in their han read more

Pop-A-Lock - It was under my name Mary Degges. So maybe I just was never put in the system and that was the problem? - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

Called roadside assistance through my insurance. The guy they sent could not have been a bigger jerk. Had to call a tow truck and was stranded on the side of the highway! Bad company! read more

Fast and friendly! Will definitely be calling them for all my roadside and locksmithing needs!

Would give zero stars if I could. Got locked out of my house and had no phone or keys to cars or the house. Went over to a neighbors to borrow their phone to call a locksmith, called this one and was told it'd be 45 minutes and they'd be there. Cue disabled little me sitting in my WHEELCHAIR outside of my house for 3.5 HOURS waiting on these people who never showed up. Had to break a window and break into my own dang house. Absolutely horrendous (lack of) service, wouldn't recommend them to anybody. read more

I had to call Pop A Lock a few days ago when I locked my keys in my car at an outdoor shopping center. I called Pop a Lock and they gave me a reasonable estimate for the job over the phone and showed up in 20 minutes, although they quoted an hour. This was great for me as the temp that day was pushing 95 degrees. The representative was kind and quick and the price was just as stated, and from what I can tell, cheaper than others have paid for emergency lock out service. read more

It took a while to get service but the technician was in constant contact updating me on her estimated arrival time. Once she arrived to put my spare on she was faced with a car she was unfamiliar with. I drive a MINI Cooper and that spare tire was very efficiently hidden. She didn't blink an eye. Asked for owners manual, read instructions and had that tire on very quickly. Super impressed by her efficiency and optimism. Definitely call these people when you need assistance! read more

These guys were lifesavers! We accidentally locked the keys in the trunk of our rental car at the airport, but due to the way cars are now being made "keyless" -- no lock on the trunck for a manual open, a computer system that shuts down when it thinks the car is being stolen, etc.--, we couldn't get them out without 1) physically removing the seats from the back of the car 2) breaking into the trunk, effectively damaging it or 3) hauling the car to the dealership and getting the locks recut. All very expensive options. Pop a lock came and within 15 minutes, our locksmith very easily and cheaply solved our problem (hint: Go through the lockwell on the driver door)! No damage to the rental car, keys returned, our luggage rescued and all it cost was the service call. Moral of the story: don't rent a Hyundai Sonata and call Pop a Lock if you have lock trouble in Birmingham. read more

Thats a great way to defend your company Pam D. but I called the SAME number listed on this page. So unless you have the "scammers" able to take your calls, it was 100% your company! So no I won't remove my post in hopes that the same wont happen to another person. Seem like my review isn't the only negative one on this site...guess I'm not the first to be "scammed" as your area manager(who couldnt even hardly communicate with me due to coughing the whole time) told me thats what happened. read more

My wife recently had a flat and pop a lock came and changed the tire. They we're quick and courteous. We could not asked for better service.

We called at 4:30 When we told them that we would call back. We were told that after 5:00 the price goes up. The driver waited till after 5:00. To call and say he canceled our call because he couldn't find us in Homewood. So if we still wanted him it would be the higher price. Never again. read more

i called pop-a-lock and was told that there was no one to take calls at this time. she then said hold on and she then told me that my area was not covered by them. i told her that it was listed in their ad. she apologized again, and i told her they need to change their ad. she said she would tell them. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I would give NEGATIVE stars if I could. I was told it would be a 40 minute wait. An hour and a half later, when all the stores around me were closed and I was left in the cold, I called to find where y'all were ONLY TO BE TOLD MY TICKET WAS CLOSED AND YOU WERENT COMING!!! I was told your employee wasn't sure where to go, despite having the address and name of the place I was in front of, 1919 28th Avenue South, Homewood, AL 35209 - Yoe Express, a place that's not hard to find and that I was, again, IN FRONT OF!!! I was never called to confirm ANYTHING OR BE TOLD YOU WEREN'T COMING. YOU LEFT ME, A 23 YEAR OLD, 5'0 WOMAN IN A COLD AND DARK AREA WITH NO WORD!!! You'd better be glad I made it home safely through the aid of your competitor because if I hadn't, I would sue this crap company for everything it's worth. I will never call this service again, but I will follow up until I speak to a manager about what happened, and where "Kristy Hokerk" was and why she left me, since according to your automated text, that was who was "en route" and would be with me "in 40 minutes" at 8:27 last night!!! read more

I called to get a quote on having the locks in my house rekeyed. I was simply told "We do not have locksmith service available". Nothing else, no attempt to take my information to call me when they had locksmiths available, no attempt whatsoever to retain my business, no explanations at all. Very disappointing. read more
