So he's been a frequent customer of The Royal Pet Resort and Spa. We haven't tried any other doggy daycare, but we love this place! First and foremost, because our fur baby loves it! He can't wait to get out of the car every time we pull into the drive thru to drop him off. He would either pass out in the backseat every time we pick him up, or gets so pooped out and nap the whole evening all the way until bedtime lol. Secondly, they have 3 spacious outdoor sections for small, large, and i guess medium dogs. The areas are very well maintained with beautiful turf. There's always at least 1 and up to 3 staff in every section at all time to keep an eye on all the doggies and immediately clean up after them. When it rains or after about 4pm, all the dogs would get moved indoor (the small and large dogs are still segregated). They have cameras throughout the facility. With the exceptions of a few blind spots, you can watch your fur baby all day if you choose to. Not saying that's what I'd do sometimes lol. It's also a huge plus that they're part of Richter's Animal Hospital right next door. You can drop your pup off at the daycare and they would take care of any types of service your pup needs while he/she is there. The one kind-of-a-downside is in order for your pup to stay here, he/she would need to be up to date with all the shots and requirements. You can do a one stop shop and get everything done at Richter's Animal Hospital when you drop them off, or go to your prefered vet. They're pretty strict about this. However, it helps put me at ease knowing my baby would be surrounded by healthy pups. You can drop your dog off for a full day evaluation (their first time here) at a discounted price of $18. It's $28/day after that unless you purchase any of the passes for up to $23ish/day discount. The great thing is you don't need to use them all consecutively. The credits can be deducted every time the pup is here.

I have had different pet sitters in the past, and as of last year I've had a dear friend who has kindly watched them. And she will continue to do so for very short trips when she's available to help out. But for longer trips and also to have a permanent go-to sitter, I will often be relying on The Comforted Kitty. Here's how it works: - they send you the link to their system - you have a LOT of paperwork online to fill out, be forewarned. Mine took a few hours as I have many cats due to an unforeseen and unplanned situation (you have to fill out info for each cat and it's a LOT, but I was able to cut and paste for much of it). PLAN TIME for this, you cannot knock this part out in a few minutes. However it's very complete info and it's basically the equivalent of you being there in person and them writing every single thing you say down. This helps with matching you to the correct sitter, but also gives them all food, medicine, doctor, emergencies etc info. And it's one and done. You don't fill this out each time. It is a lot of work upfront but then you're done and it's on file for any of them to see. So in case your sitter due to something unforeseen cannot make it, another sitter can easily pop in and replace because she or he will have access to everything on your cats' profile(s). It makes for a seamless transition if needed. - they have a free meet and greet of 30 minutes with your potential sitter they have chosen for you (I believe you can also choose someone directly but I may be mistaken on this) - you can go in on the app or the website (both worked well) and choose the dates needed and the times needed. You can have specific shift times like between noon and 5pm amongst others, or you can select "any time." - if you need to cancel or add days, it's very simple to do there as well - they charge your credit card on the day you get back not before you leave which I really appreciated - you can leave a tip for your sitter in case at your home or arrange with the sitter after to send a tip (I left a small amount in case since this was a new service and I didn't know how well the sitter would do - when I got back I sent her more via Zelle, she earned it!) - unlike any previous sitting service I have used, this one is very business-like. You'll get a notification both in app and email that your daily report is waiting. And it's very detailed: the time entering and leaving, how much the cat(s) went to the bathroom, ate, drank, and updates on play time and activities including pictures. You can reply to the sitter in the portal but it also comes through as a text so it was easy to communicate. I was on my first ever trip to Europe for a choral tour and I had no glitches at all in communication. Shannon here in Dallas, Texas was the young woman that was selected for me based on my cats and time slot availability. I want to give a shoutout to her for helping me with a very unexpected event that happened while I was gone! It was 330am where I was and I ended up needing to call her because of it. I know I was very out of it and she was very patient with me and my half-awakeness. She handled the situation perfectly and I was able to relax knowing things at home were ok. This is exactly why you pay a pet sitter well - they're not just watching your pet, they're also watching your house. They have limits legally on what they can do, and understandably, but it was a relief knowing my situation was taken care of (it dealt both with one of my cats and the house - too long a story!). The location is small and slightly run down on the outside but the people are very caring and the inside is clean which is all I care about. I have a Shiba Inu so I got the de-shedding option and I could really tell a difference. No hair in my house for almost 2 week!! This was the one dog chore I continue to be glad I outsourced. A technician comes out to my house once a week (but you can opt for more days), on the same day each week. They're so reliable and I've never had any problems. I just get a text just before service starts, which gives me time to bring my dog in if I'm home, and then another text when the service ends showing they closed the gate. The technician also leaves a dog biscuit for my dog when they leave (they ask you if it's ok when you sign up). I asked how far they were and they said they were 25 minutes away. How is this possible when we're already 30 minutes PAST the time they should have arrived? I contacted what I assumed was customer service to ask this question and was asked "Is there not traffic in Houston on a Friday? Or period?" GPS includes traffic in the arrival time. You expect me to believe the GPS time is off by an hour? I called the driver to ask where he was so I could meet him and get my items from him. She was approximately 8 weeks old and we loved her beyond measure. She had a sister and me and my sister both landed on Sabrina. God lead us to her and for what ever reason he knew she would need us. Approximately at 9 months old she started having some diarrhea and through a multitude of Vet and Animal Hospital visits testing would show she lymphoma. Rare for a pup. Our best prepared us for a rolller coaster if good days and bad days and we were absolutely blessed with really good days up until last week. On a business trip my sister called and said Sabrina wasn't feeling well and was laying down in the corner of the laundry room. She never slept in there. I arrived back home Wednesday morning and she didn't come to the door to greet as she always did. I went to her and she was at her normal place underneath my chair and I gently greeted her and she wiggled her little tale. She died 12 hours later. Her little body had enough. She was our best Friend and we loved her deeply. Her big sissy has been looking for her everyday. At 3:00 am I discovered Precious Pets Crematory and completed their online inquiry. 7:00 am the owner called me. He was awesome and talked me through the options. I told him I would be there by 10:00 and said his daughter would be waiting on me. When I arrived she was kind and understanding. She could see and feel our pain. We received word that Sabrina was ready to be picked up today. Coordinated a time and it went exceptionally well. Not only did we get an engraved urn, but they included her paw print and a sample of her hair. Me and my sister cried...bawled. My last words to This very sweet lady was that I hope I never see her again. Lovingly she understood what I was saying. In life, the love we have for our pets last us a lifetime.
