Pool Knights - Stains starts appearing in pool once new tech started "cleaning" pool - Pool Cleaners Near Me

Not what they promise. Scheduled them to replace a pump. Two missed appts. They called and said their tech walked off the job. We went to another company and got the pump replaced. Called Pool Knights back to begin weekly service. I had the pool completley clear and ready to be serviced when they arrived. After 4 weeks of service and numerous calls about not enough chemicals I fired them. They added salt to a chlorine pool!!! WHAT! Only once out of 4 weeks did they added enough chemicals to control the algae. Last Sunday my 73 year old husband added 5 pounds of shock, (at our expense) brushed and vac pool..and this took care of what THEY WERE TO DO. I have CLOSE up pictures and video to prove EVERYTHING. After I cancelled service I called them again about a bill I got for 6 weeks of service and only performed services 4. I asked for a refund. No one will speak to us. You have my email, my cell and my husband's cell. So many ways to communicate, why do you not? Why do you bill for services not rendered? Why will you not call me back and offer a refund? Why did you send the pool cleaner out to my house after we fired you? Run from this company, they are not what they advertise!!! Buyer Beware..they bill in advance!!! read more

Pool Knights is nothing short of fantastic. Not only do they do a great job and cleaning the pool at the same time give detailed report in attached document after each visit which is AWESOME. Our Jandy EPump went out. We have had trouble in the past using other local warranty repair companies on our pool equipment. They would take days to respond, then send someone out to look at the issue, then take days to repair the issue. Jandy recommended Pool Knights. They called me within minutes of me leaving a message. They communicated with me clearly every time they called for questions etc. They came out and repaired my issue the same day. I'm sure this isn't always the case as they may not have parts needed. We have had a terrible and frustrating experience with Pool Knights. The notes below were included in the complaint I filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation: 1) Pool Knights did not abide by the "8 Point Preventative Maintenance Program" per the service contract. Specifically, they discontinued the use of (or significantly reduced) the use of the proper chemicals, which resulted in algae overgrowth, an expensive remediation process, and potential health hazards for my family. 2) Pool Knights acted deceptively by taking pictures of the pool in such a way that the shadows on the surface of the water obstructed the view of the algae overgrowth that was present below the surface of the water. When I sent new pictures that clearly showed the extent of the algae overgrowth, they simply quit responding to me. 3) Pool Knights was either non-responsive or minimally responsive when I attempted to repeatedly contact them. When they did respond, it was usually just to blame me for the problems with the pool (although none of those issues existed during the past 8 years with a different pool company). 4) Pool Knights continued to charge the full price for the weekly service, despite leaving the pool in a state of non-cleanliness and full of algae. It is also my belief that they stopped using the necessary chemicals in order to save the company money. Here is a summary of the timeline: We entered into a service contract with Pool Knights during the late February / early March 2022 timeframe. Very soon after entering into the agreement, we began to notice that the cleanliness of the pool had significantly deteriorated. We also noticed leaks with the equipment that were not resolved by Pool Knights. Each time we would contact the company, they would blame the issues on us. Within a few months of switching our service to Pool Knights, algae had begun to grow in all the corners and was quickly spreading along the walls as well. The technician finally admitted that the company had stopped using the proper chemicals due to supply chain issues (although they continued to charge my debit card the same amount every month). We prevented our children from swimming in the pool due to our concern over possible toxicity associated with the algae overgrowth. I tried repeatedly to contact the company via phone and email but never received a response. I finally sent a cancellation request on May 20th. The company finally responded and said that they had fixed the algae issues. In reality, their technician had intentionally taken pics in such an angle that the shadows on the surface of the water obstructed the view of the algae. This was very deceptive, dishonest and unethical on their part. I responded with additional pictures that clearly showed that the algae remained present all over the pool. I requested a refund for the amounts paid so that I could find a new pool company and have them perform a remediation service for the algae overgrowth. Once again, the company quit responding to me. I followed back up with them again on June 3rd. They responded that a refund would not be issued. read more

Pool knights recently resurfaced, tiled and redid the plumbing on our pool and finished up in February. My husband and I were not completely satisfied with the customer service but let it go because we were pleased with the pool. We are closing on our house this week and cannot get Tim to return out calls/emails/text etc. to address our brand new pool light and gasket. It's literally filled up with water which I'm told can be extremely dangerous. The sad thing is that we've literally only turned the light on a few times. We contacted the guy that handled our project and he was let go after our job. At this point we don't even know if the company is still in business because they won't return our calls. read more

There are times when you get such incredible service that it seems like you just have to shout it from the rooftops. Well, I'm not getting up on my roof, but I want to tell everyone about the experience I had with Pool Knights. I am new to owning a pool. We know NOTHING about how to care for one. We purchased our house in September 2018. Our pool pump started making kind-of a funny noise over the weekend. My husband and I took the filter apart to clean it, but that didn't change the sound from the pump. Eventually on Saturday, it totally froze up. Our pool quickly started to turn funny colors (not ha! ha! funny, but alligator living in my backyard funny). I called my home warranty company. They told me someone would call me Monday. On Monday I called the contractor but was told someone couldn't come out until Wednesday. I called my HW company back and they found Pool Knights. Pool Knights rearranged their service techs' schedules and had a tech at my house before lunchtime on Monday. By Tuesday around noon, my pool pump was replaced. They were fast, courteous and kept me informed and involved in the discussion the entire way. They even called me back at about 6 pm on Monday night to let me know that they'd work in the pool pump replacement on Tuesday. Way to go and thank you! read more

We are having the exact same issue as Donna S. who posted her experience with Pool Knights and it looks from the date of posting - that we also have had the same experience around the same date. When we started with this company we were so impressed and happy - then they sent a different tech than usual and so began the horrible service. The first time this tech came out , he rang our doorbell and left so quickly that we couldn't even talk to him. He never cleaned the pool and we couldn't get someone out to clean it for a week. The second time the tech came out, he couldn't figure out how to service the pump and told us it was broken. His supervisor came out and let us know that nothing was wrong and that the tech was new. (That ended up being inaccurate according to the person in their office handling their emails). The last time the tech came out (3rd) he didn't add chemicals to the pool and algae was growing since the last half-assed visit. We spent that entire time having to shock our own pool and then eventually having to call another company to come and clean the pool only a day or two after Pool Knights had their tech at our home. Not only did they charge us for those visits where the pool hasn't been cleaned, they refused to refund after explaining the experience and then tried to say that we are prepaid and their corporate policy requires 30 days notice to cancel. You also require your techs to actually do their jobs, right? Then they say our pool pump was difficult to open - so that is there reason why the pool tech didn't clean the pool ?! Holy junk. So we asked for a number to corporate- seeing how it is a "corporate policy" to do this to people - but "corporate" "won't be in until Wednesday" - and instead as providing a contact to "corporate" , they ,"will reach out to us." As business owners ourselves - we are appalled at the way this company is handling their accounts and will flat out not pay for service we were not provided let alone that cost us time and money. Unfortunately, I received an email stating they do not service my address, even though I am in their trade area ( on both Yelp and Google!!! They were great until one of the two guys who actually knows what he is doing got really sick and had to stop working. The owner Tim is clueless, he just asks Scott or Brad what to do. The guy who cleans the pools does a great job he's just so overworked at this point that he overlooks things or flat out doesn't have time to do them. We have been using Pool Knights for more than 5 months now. After using several other pool companies and being let down time and again, we are blessed to have found these guys in our own back yard! This company is excellent and very responsive. I have sent emails late in the evening and I'll receive a response within 15 minutes. That's pretty cool customer service. Thank Goodness I fired Poool Knights. Last summer I hired them to take care of my pool. It's a saltwater pool and we couldn't understand why the smell of chlorine was always so strong and our swimsuits kept bleaching out. I called and emailed Pool Knights several times to inquire on the weekly reports and the chlorine levels. They were very convincing, saying things like, Our owner is a chemical engineer....he's been doing this for years....he knows hus stuff...." So they convinced me for months to continue service. But when we had guests who kept talking about the extremely strong smell of chlorine in our salt water pool we knew it wasn't just us. That same night my daughters hilighted hair melted. Yes, it MELTED. I called Pool Knights to talk to them about the chlorine levels, again. Finally I had to let them go. We've had this pool for 10 years and I have never had swimsuits bleach, guests complain about their skin, and hair melt until I hired Pool Knights. Oddly enough, we went to a pool chemical company just a month ago and I was telling them about our experience with this pool service company. They asked me who the company was and as I was saying Pool Knights the guy finished my sentence for me. He knew exactly who it was. It appears they were using liquid chlorine in my pool. In my saltwater pool. Word to the wise, your saltwater pool should not wreak of chlorine. Your pool water should not melt your hair! read more

Communication is perfect,but I have paid more than 4 k with them when they first made diagnostics and there was a leak since day 1 but they didn't fix it and they didn't inform me about it , although I called and informed them about it , they sent a team and they made an estimate , I agreed then I was surprised to find another estimate saying that that the first team didn't see another leak , and another technician found a worse leak and also claimed my salt cell is broken down and sent me am estimate for 1,6 k , I contacted them and send pics of my salt cell and of the flow sensor inside it and it was new , their tech didn't even bother himself to check the salt cell he just claimed it has to be changed , my salt cell is working fine I stopped with them , and I was surprised how they didn't even care , no apologies , and they didn't even dig into what their technician said . I switched to another company and they came and my salt cell has nothing , they just programmed it from my lent air system and it works fine read more

Pool Knights didn't show for up on occasion to clean as per the weekly maintenance. At times charging for "fixing"things that they did not fix, leaving us to fix it ourselves. They also left the cap off equipment after "fixing it", and at times after cleaning the pool, resulting in a flooded backyard. 50% of the time the hot tub was not cleaned at all, and when they did clean it they refused to put the water hose in and fill it back up to proper water level. There were a few occasions that we had to text the owner pictures of our pool to complain and ask why it isn't clean. Upon ending services no longer needed and having been charged for several occasions that no one showed up for, they attempted to collect more money. When refused, they began investigating us to find our employers and leave slanderous, FALSE negative reviews personally naming us in the Google review of our employers. When we contacted the BBB regarding the poor service and retaliatory FALSE actions, they went to Legal Defense and sent us a cease and desist, claiming our reviews were false and negative. They removed our negative review from their Facebook page, as I am sure they do to every negative review. Never have I ever seen such unprofessional, immature business handling than to slander former customers that you want to charge an additional $100 to. DO NOT USE THEM, they will result to intimidation tactics, slander, defamation of character, and retaliation if anything goes wrong. Just look at their other reviews, they speak for themselves. read more

Tim and his team have done a great job with our pool. We just moved to the Houston area and have never had a pool before so we were clueless. He got us up and running and then, switched us over to salt water (a must for me) at a really great price. Tim is really friendly and professional. They leave a door hanger letting you know exactly what they did, if anything is wrong, etc. I absolutely love spending my lazy Sunday's in my great salt water pool! My husband hired Pool Knights in February of 2016 to clean and maintain our ground pool. Owner Tim came out within a week to access our pool. He gave us a quote and said that our pool should be ready by April 2016. Starting in February Tim and his employee came out to start cleaning the pool. The first service was the only time it appeared that the pool water was starting to look decent. Every Monday after that Tim's employee would come out to service the pool and that's when the quality of service and care when down. The employee would be out at our home for almost 2 hours and our pool never did get better. He would always say "I'm trying to get this up for you guys". Well about a month later (mid March) we get a knock on the door from two new pool guys ( co owner Brad) reporting that they are now new co-owners of Pool Knights and the previous employee is no longer with the company. So Brad reports that he would be the person to maintain our pool on Mondays. I asked what happen to the employee and was told that he was not performing his job correctly and that Owner Tim had to let him go. Well another three weeks went by and Pool Knights have yet to clean our pool. My husband called Tim to get an update but he wouldn't answer the phone so several messages were left on his voicemail. Owner Tim never did return any of the calls but new co-owner Brad did. He informed my Husband more money was needed to correct our pool problem because they have to correct the issue their previous unqualified employee caused. My Husband informed Brad that it was not our problem that Tim had an unqualified employee working for him and now want us to paid more money for his mistake. Brad was informed not to come back out to service our STILL UNCLEAN pool. Thank you, Pool Knights for maintaining an unclean pool for three months. read more

Hey neighbors. We have used 3 different pool companies over the years - including cleaning it ourselves but due to busier schedules we needed to find a new company. Pool Knights is THE best pool company. The owner is a chemical engineer who pays specific attention to the chemical balance of the water to preserve the integrity of your pool plaster. They take before and after photos and send you a complete report to you via email--every week! The report has the photos, the chemical levels of your pool and details on what they did to the pool and what chemicals they added. We have never had such detail like this before. I always had to call my previous pool company to ask if it was safe to swim because I was never told if they shocked the pool etc. Pool Knights is in Spring but they service the Kingwood area. We had a pump "emergency" the other day and despite having a packed schedule that day, the owner came over at 7:00 a.m to check it out. I can't recommend them enough! They are the BEST! read more
