We trusted this boarding facility with our beloved dog, and that trust was completely broken. Our dog was in their care and did not ever make it home. The explanations that were given raised more questions than answers, and the lack of transparency, accountability, and compassion during such a devastating time has made this bad experience even worse. When you leave your pet somewhere, you expect and PAY FOR proper supervision, safe conditions, and immediate, honest communication if anything goes wrong. In our case, these basic expectations were not met. Losing our pet was heartbreaking. However, losing him while he was in someone else's care was even worse and something that no family should ever have to go through. Since Poochie is trying to cover up what happened, I will gladly post a first hand account of what happened to a very healthy German Sheppard named Braxton that was left in Poochies care to be boarded at their boarding facility while the owner went on a cruise.Braxton DIED while in their care, on the last day of his stay. During his stay, his condition declined. Again, a young, healthy German Sheppard that had a clean bill of health died from bacterial pneumonia after becoming sepsis because no-one responded to blood in stool, not eating for 4 days and could barely walk. The owner acknowledged the lack of response and care from his team in writing. It's infuriating that a letter of apology and accountability is the only response. And now trying to delete and cover up reviews so consumers can't be informed before they leave their baby with them. When a facility delays responding to a medical issue, the outcome can be irreversible. That is what happened to Braxton. A 4 year old, very HEALTHY German Sheppard. Let me start by saying my dogs used to love this place. However that changed once I boarded 3 of my dogs for 8 days. My HEALTHY 6 year old German Shepherd passed away while in their care. I watched him decline over a matter of days and reached out via email multiple times. His symptoms were dismissed as stress, and minor upset belly. My dog wasn't eating, had blood in his stool, lethargic, excessive drool, etc. David, the owner admitted to me when he saw him Wednesday he felt something wasn't quite right, however, he was brushed off. Fast forward to Saturday morning when my dog was transported (by Poochies staff) to Focused Pet Care where he had to be taken inside on a gurney. He was already in septic shock when he arrived. Focused Pet Care did all they could to keep him alive until we could arrive back home to tell him goodbye. Unfortunately he passed before we got back. I regret ever leaving him there. I shouldn't have left a healthy dog in their care and return to a deceased one. His symptoms should have been checked day 1 since they have a vet attached to the facility. They weren't. And he ended up paying for their "oversight" and lack of knowledge when it comes to dog behavior. All I can say is please ask what the protocols are for "stressed" or "depressed pets", when do they finally escalate these issues for further evaluation, and what training the young staff receive. I was skeptical at first because of one review I read on yelp, but decided to give it a go anyway. Everyone knows their own dog to be a good girl/boy. My girl is a sweet girl but just don't know around large crowd of doggies. What Poochies recommend and what they have free of charge is a behavior assessment test. Which I recommend fully. The manager and head trainer took my girl for an assessment test. My girl did great and they gave me a few recommendations on how to transition from park to park. I do recommend listen to the staff they have much experience when it comes to new introductions. I did exactly what they suggested and it was so worth it. I and my doggie and such a great time. She was well balanced going to each park. Oh yes Poochies park have several parks. The place is huge. To enter and check is such a great experience is like checking into a fancy hotel. I spent over 40 dollars for my dog to be left alone not interacting with other dogs from 8 am to 5pm. The reasoning was that she was "aggressive" I was genuinely shocked because I've had her for 2 years and no daycare, park, groomer, or boarding facility has ever said that. I have taken her to this daycare 3 other times including lil scouts and heard about no aggressive behavior then. I am so sad that she was left alone all day. Signed our dog up for boarding with Poochie's for two weeks and when we got him back, he had four significant hot spots that seem to have gone unnoticed and untreated for days, and both his back legs were injured so bad we had to pay an over $500 vet bill for pain shots and pills, as well as multiple antibiotics for the hot spot infections. Below attached are photos of one on his ear (photo one), his neck (photo two), his foot (photo three), under his tail (photo four), and the vet bill we were left with (photo five). HERES THE WORST PART. When we confronted them about it at pickup because he yelled in pain in a way I've never heard in his 3 years alive the second he tried running to me at pickup, and was covered in hot spots, management's response was "You accept that risk when boarding with us." So everyone thinking of boarding with Poochie, know that's the risk you're likely signing your dog up for. They then refused to pay any vet bills and as my fiancé was frantically asking how this could all happen in their care, their manager Taylor couldn't stop smiling the entire time as if she was going to burst into laughter. I'm glad our dog yelping in pain and covered in FOUR severe hot spots is funny to Poochie's management. They don't care for the dogs nor for if they get injured under their care. And when I asked them point blank "nobody noticed him in severe pain with a noticeable limp and four hot spots before the very moment you just dropped him off?" their ACTUAL response was "Nope. None of this existed this morning." So he developed pain so bad in both legs he screamed when the vet touched either and had to give him a shot as well as four hot spots in the course of just a few hours? Not the two week stay? Nobody noticed during his full GROOMING session prior to pick up we paid for? This is a warning to all thinking of boarding their dog with Poochie. Ours came back injured and covered in rashes and hot spots, resulting in smiles on the staff's faces. But as they say, "that's the risk you accept." I got my Goldendoodle back today from his grooming appointment that also ran 3 hours late and they shaved his face so close that his skin is now broken out. We specifically told them at drop off and over the phone NOT to shave his face like a poodle. No other groomer in town ever shaves him like this. We have only had this problem at Poochies. They said they had to shave him because he was matted, but how come other groomers in town take the time to brush and cut him? Plus there is no way he could be that matted since I brush him at home every other day. We are not happy and will never go there again. We spent $90 on this horrible grooming job!! read more

First time and last time we kenneled our dogs here due to an emergency.we left our two dogs here for two nights with enough treats to be given twice a day. The day we picked them up none of the treats were given, poop and pee stains on their beds from home, I also had them bathed before pick up. One of our dogs was in the hospital for pneumonia a week later with a collapsed trachea, and poor Grace took a week to begin to act normal .the day we got home I was finding ticks everywhere, on them, on the floor and on myself. Today, 8 months later I was diagnosed with stage 2 Lyme Disease. I was also told on pick up days if they have a bath, they bathe them in the morning and do not let them out, they were told we would pick them up at 4 pm, they were not let out for hours which was evident when they went to pee first thing outside. read more

I love Poochies. I love the park and I love the boarding place. I had a very difficult dog that they took excellent care of and they were understanding. What I love best about here is that the people are trained well. They KNOW what they are doing. They are not quick to be excited about some dogs making noise or playing rough. They will intervene when appropriate but otherwise let the dogs be dogs! My only complaint, and I understand the regulations, I really do- Now that my puppy is over 6 months he can't go unless he is neutered. I refuse. This place is amazing!! We have a labradoodle puppy that is very rambunctious and hyper. She doesn't listen very well and constantly jumps up on everyone in excitement. With the holidays coming my wife and I we're concerned that our puppy would be a bit to much for all our guests so we decided to put her through an obedience course for a week. A few of our friends highly recommended Poohies. Which they all had wonderful things to say. When we arrived on-site we noticed this place is truly a dogs paradise. The owner David, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us some excellent recommendations on meeting the needs of both us, and our puppy. We had them to work with her on sit, stay and no. After a week of training it was like we had a new dog! I couldn't believe it. She actually listened, and all of our guest loved having her around. I would highly recommend Poochies to anyone and everyone. This place has a little bit of everything. From a giant play area, beautiful clean ponds for the dogs to swim in, a walking trail, vet clinic, and even dog grooming. Which we had her washed and groomed. She looks amazing! I have never had such a bad experience with a dog boarding, grooming and park as I have had with Poochies. The manager, Taylor was extremely rude to me and accused me of being devious about a billing discrepancy and approached me at the park and I was extremely embarrassed. The owner did not even call me to inquire and decided to ban us from the park without hearing both sides of the story. Do not recommend this place, staff is horrible, gossipy and dogs fight all the time as members have been going so long the behavior is accepted from the owner. read more

I originally had a very positive experience with Poochie's Park, but that turned out to be a facade. Apparently, the staff encountered a behavior issue with my dog that has not been an issue elsewhere. Rather than communicate the issue when it was first observed so that it could be fixed, they waited six months before casually threatening to potentially no longer allow my dog to go to Poochie's Park for boarding or daycare. This lack of communication makes it impossible to fix issues when you are not told when they are occurring. The facility is great, and my dog always comes home tired, but not being told about an issue until six months later is unacceptable. It does not excuse any behaviors from my dog, but you cannot fix anything that you do not know about. read more

Poochies goes above and beyond caring for your pets. I have boarded my dogs before at other places and was so disappointed, but Poochies takes care of your animal like they are their own. They have activities throughout the day for them, like spending a good amount of time outside with other dogs or playing with toys inside. They also have live camera feeds for all areas so you can check on your pets at anytime. They even sent us pictures of our dogs with a progress report in how they were doing. I overreacted to my issue. The General Manager spoke with me today and resolved my customer service issue. As I stated, great folks, Poochies takes excellent care of the the dogs in their care. The dogs have a great place to play, socialize and get plenty of supervised play time. The facility is air conditioned and heated, it also has a fire sprinkler system which is a big plus. read more

Our 1st visit on a recommendation from a friend. And yes your 1st visit is Free. I believe that is because they know you will be back We used the park area which is very large and offer's a large pond for the dogs to swim. They also have plenty of tennis balls and frisbees for anyone to use. This is totally a off leash park. Once done playing they have a great bath station for you to use so bring some soap because your dog or puppy will probably be dirty once done playing. Also since we adopted Jack from safe Animal shelter they offered a free daycsre day which Im sure we will take them up on soon. We also have Jack scheduled for a overnight stay next week. read more

This is the number one place to take my dogs. There is a lot of property with numerous fences throughout with a dog lake! If you are having issues with a dog there is a number you can text and someone will come outside and be a "ruff-feree" for dogs misbehaving. Each dog is given three strikes before they are not allowed to go to the park again. Any dog who goes on the premises is required to be up to date on vaccinations. Poochie's also offers boarding. I have yet to try it but when I need to board my dogs I know where I will be going. read more

I want to start this with the dog park- Five Stars! It is a great little setup! Three stars: Grooming. We had an awesome experience with Jami a few months ago and our pup looked amazing! We had a new groomer this time and our dog got a bath- I know her coat when it's blow dried it's very straight, I could tell the groomer did not completely blow dry her and she was put away wet because her hair was curled when I picked her up. Paying $50 for a bath this was a bit disappointing if I'm being honest because now that her ears dried wet, they're matted now and weren't like that when I dropped her off. But I will say she gained some stars because she went above and beyond to try and cut our other dogs nails, he hates his nails cut. Three stars: Daycare. I think it's odd that they don't give some type of report card to tell me how my dog was. This is her 2nd time so I don't know if she was good? Bad? No idea... Ultimately I will be going elsewhere for grooming/daycare but will continue to use the dog park. Hopefully they can make it right for us or make improvements for future clients. read more

Single handedly the best place to board your dog. I refuse to take my pup anywhere else. This beautiful place is on tons of land with massive amounts of room for them to run around. When I first rescued my dog they helped me introduce her to group play (I am eternally grateful for this). Every time I board my dog there I have her get a groomers bath. She always comes back looking and smelling great. Not to mention... my dog, Queen, literally has the time of her life every time she's there. Perhaps the best example of how amazing this place is, is when I boarded my dog here during Hurricane Irma. I was evacuating and couldn't take her with me (I was distraught) but they gave frequent updates, stayed with them over night during the storm, and (as always) posted tons of pictures online. Best place ever for dogs! I appreciate the fact all dogs there are current on vaccines. Staff is responsible and caring. Boarding and hours are great. The park itself has a large pond and sand, nice shady areas, off leash trail and huge field. I enjoy the fresh air and seeing my dog play, walk, run off leash. Poochie's Park is a dream come true for dogs (and dog owners). I was traveling to Florida with my large 1 year old puppies, whom I adore. They went to daycare for 2 days and loved it! I received a report card, they did activities such as play soccer and their lake was amazing. My fur babies were so tired in the evenings. Took my little gem there for a grooming as I had accidentally made a tiny cut inside her ear about three weeks ago. There were still dogs being groomed at 5:20 pm when I arrived. I was told the groomers go home at five. Then they bring her out with a head band and told me her old spot reopened. I found this odd. I get her her home to inspect the ear and she has a cut 1/4 inch into her actual ear. I am beyond mad. She has a vet appointment tomorrow so we will be documenting this atrocity. Old scratch v/s new cut! Unreal. Yet they have so many glowing reviews....... I never go on Google but I am making an exception to review them there. But tomorrow. For tonight I'm continuing to ice my baby's ear. At least own your mistakes and offer to pay for pain medicine and treatment. I am going back to grooming at home.
