The park has a double-gated entry. You must use a leash while entering/exiting the park. A maximum of two dogs per adult at one time is allowed inside the park. When other dogs are waiting, they ask that you limit your use to thirty (30) minutes. Owners must remain with their dogs at all times. For me, I use the dog park to allow my dog to run wild, exercise and play catch with me. I also use it for him to socialize with other dogs. However, I don't like dog parks that allow multiple dogs (either does my dog) so the two dog rule is perfect for us. They have dog poop trash cans and bags for animal waste disposable. CONS: A permit is required for use of the park (annual fee is $25) and the rules are quite strict (http://tinyurl.com/mocahjx). For me, this is a PRO because it helps keep out the riff-raff. Though, not sure how many people actually have permits. I would give a 5 star rating but the last time I visited the park I found a few pot-holes in the ground (dog could break a leg). When you approach and please ask if the dogs inside is friendly just as a logical precaution. I went there today and the dog inside was not good with other dogs. I have a beautiful super sweet husky and left quickly. There aren't many dog parks around here so I'm happy to have one so close.

We pulled up and parked by the (very nice and clean) playground. Then we walked and talked and took photos on our way to the first bench that we came to. Friendly ducks came right up to us while we were chowing down. We put some lettuce and rice on the ground for them. We then proceeded walk around the beautiful lake, taking many pictures as we went along. Others were walking, running, and fishing. We all were all making the most of this lovely Spring day! What a pleasant one in April :) Definitely coming back to this hidden gem of a park!

Four years later, I still find myself driving here from time to time to do the old running route. Besides that, I run through the park on an almost weekly basis, as it is part of my running clubs 12 mile Sunday run. The park is open and welcoming. A year or two ago volunteers built the Build Jake's Place, a "boundless" playground which welcomes children of all abilities and disabilities. During my most recent visit to the park this past week, I noticed that a second new playground area is being built. (I can't find the info now, but I think I read that it is going to be a softball/baseball field of sorts, again for all children, regardless of ability/disability). The park also includes a quarter mile track, restrooms, bocce court, a basketball court, and baseball field. There is also what appears to be a soccer or football field set back behind a wooded area that I have not ventured to, but I often see games being held there. A short walk to the other end of the park brings to to an area of the Cooper River, and a large grassy field area where one could spread out and relax. For the runner or walker, there are also some trails, which Cherry Hill Township has been making a point of maintaining in the last year or two, and has encouraged people to take advantage of these areas. I only recently ventured back in these trails, and they are really beautiful, well maintained, and not long or complicated enough to get you lost. If you prefer the roads, a lap around the entire park (Caldwell Road, Park Blvd., Kings Hwy., and back into the park on Bortons Mill) is about a 1.25 mile run. The park area is also home to the old Croft Farmstead, but I'll be honest... I don't know what goes on in those buildings, just that it's a historic area in the township. One thing the township/county needs to improve are the restrooms. On the occasion that they are actually open, they are absolutely awful. Smelly, filled with graffiti, no paper towels, and just filthy. The water fountains could use some upgrading, too... they are forced to be turned off in the winter because they don't utilize no-freeze technology, and in the summer the water is just hot, and therefore useless to an overheated endurance runner. If the park could fix either one of those things, they'd easily be a 4 or 5 star park in my eyes.

When you arrive at the corner of 25th and Spruce, you walk straight back towards the direction of the river and find two different dog park spaces. One is for small dogs (with a specific weight restriction) and older, low energy dogs. The other is for dogs of all sizes, so it is typically larger dogs. Our 12ish pound cavapoo likes both park options. There are always dog bowls and access to running water. In the summer, there are little plastic pools for the dogs to cool off in. While my dog doesn't love the pool option, he does appreciate the water bowls! Most of the dog parents that bring their fur babies to the park are very friendly and respectful.

On to the next paragraph! True the main part of Clark Park on Baltimore has it's Flea Market's, Farmer's Market's, sword fighting kids, music festivals, drum circles, volley ball courts, and turtle. But the Dog Bowl pretty much has all of that (minus the Farmer's Market and Turtle), a playground, basketball courts, Shakespeare in the park, fire dancers, random BBQs, water ice, movie nights, double the music fests (I love me some Best Fest!), and smores cookouts in the Fall. Kitchens lane has been a point of contention for years now. I see community posts about dog beach and dog meet ups at kitchen lane. I would like to see signs or notice reenforcing the rules of the Wissahickon creek. Dogs are to be on a leash at all times 6ft maximum. I have had countless amount of hostile interactions with Dog owners explaining the rules. I have 3 small children that I fish with at Kitchens lane with. 1st for the protection of my children dogs should be on a leash , 2nd I purchase a fishing license every year. Which permits me to fish in the wissahickon creek. Please correct me if I am wrong. There is no such permit or license which allows dog owners to let there dogs roam freely thru the Wissahickon or Fairmount park. Again I understand everyone want to enjoy nature. However there are rules in place for people's protection & enjoyment. I am simply asking these rules to be enforced

God gave me and my husband three beautiful daughters and today after going to Ikea, we've decided to find a playground nearby and explore the area a bit (moved here not too long ago) It was not easy to find the parking but finally we did. The weather was beautiful, I put the little one in the stroller and we walked towards this playground. Don't know why, it really doesn't seem like some special place BUT to me it really felt magical. Quite place, parents sitting on benches, kids running around, sun peacefully shining on all of us. It was like a sweet memory from the playground my dad used to take me. We absolutely enjoyed our 30 minutes of swings and slides. The place has a great atmosphere. You should check it out. Maybe you'll feel something sweet too. ;)

If that makes sense? Like, possibly, people who come here know one another and live nearby. I prefer somewhat larger parks (we love Weccacoe park) so that eyes aren't all on me; while i make strange, silly sounds pushing my toddler on the swing. Meh, thats just me.
