Our Toy Fox Terrier is VERY difficult to trim her nails as she hates her feet touched as she was a rescue from a backyard breeder who pulled her toes off and bred the mother with the grandfather which left our girl, Monkee, quite inbred so she has tons of health issues. The fact that the girls there were treating Monkee like royalty despite how raggedy she looked and how smelly her breath is (she had to get some teeth pulled due to two abscessed molars). They got her nails trimmed within less than 7 minutes!? That alone was a miracle! Every time we remotely even went near Monkee's feet, she'd nip/bite and throw a fit. I'm so thankful I found them

My Mother has a 9 year old DLH cat that needed grooming, so was tasked with getting this done. I called around Lafayette and spoke with several facilities (I wrote a harsh review on one of these due to the nasty things the "certified professional groomer" said about other local facilities) regarding setting up an appointment for Spider. The CS at Pittsburgh was helpful, but you do need to begin this process by pulling up their website and filling out their new client form. I booked an appointment a week out. The timing was good for the area. Like most good groomers, they are booked out. On the appointed day, we met with Chloe, our groomer, who was very kind and attentive to my ramblings about an old, "not so friendly cat" and this being Spider's first grooming appointment. Even with an appointment, drop off times are "open", meaning "any time between 7-11a" so I assume pick ups are varied too. We dropped off at 8a and were told she would be done by noon. I needed to get out of town by noon so I called at 11a to see how it was going and was told Spider was ready to go home. Done early. Sweet! We picked her up shortly there after. We again got to meet with our groomer, Chloe, which was a nice "follow up" service. Grooming was reasonably priced at $68 for a bath, brush out, knots cut out and nails trimmed. Spider looked amazing! Please remember to tip your groomer. I am sure Chloe was not paid enough for wrestling with this old obnoxious cat that my Mother so dearly loves.

They were able to squeeze him in but did not give an accurate time estimate as to when he would be done, which is also forgivable because of the busy time of year. The space is a little cramped and you can't really see into where the dog is being held or worked on although it is apparent that they have all the supplies they need, just maybe not the space. The biggest issue I had was that they do not take credit cards, just cash or checks which is a nightmare for someone who only carries cards. That being said, I would give them four stars because the cut was really very good. The groomer made his jaw line look like a show Schnauzer, which is not easy to do and looks distinguished. They had to take probably 10lbs of hair off of him. Even though they were super busy you could tell that the necessary skilled attention was put in and even though it took a very long time, the results were worth it.

However, they then retracted the offer, citing an 'old policy' requiring dogs to attend 3 times a month to stay active--a rule they have not enforced in the years I've been coming here. Because of this sudden enforcement of a dormant rule, I was told my dog needs a 're-evaluation,' but they couldn't fit him in for that until next week. Effectively, I was turned away despite being a long-standing customer with a dog they know well. It is frustrating when a business prioritizes arbitrary bureaucracy over loyal customers.

I would say " Pheonix needs her nails trimmed and she would waddle her little self to the front door and wait and whimper till we took her out to the car and took her to see Tina. While waiting to tell Tina I wished for her nails to be done and her fur trimmed a bit. Pheonix would try to push out of my arms to get to Tina for kisses and snuggles. It is the best feeling ever, to know your baby feels loved and safe while there to be pampered. Pheonix hated to get her face wet but the staff there held her gently and talked to her in such a loving manner and she would relax and get her nose to tail bath. I wish there were more stars to give this Grooming team. Because I could fill them all up. This team is amazing and I love that they take time to talk, cuddle, snuggle and most of all show how much this in not just work to them, they genuinely care. Hugs, From Pheonix's Mommy, Amy
