Another almost two weeks later I call a third time. Finally I was told they would come out the next day at 1pm. Two hours before the scheduled arrival and after I'd already arranged to be off work to meet them, I get a call - nope - going to be 8am the next day. Changed leave arrangement and at 9am no one had called or shown up so I canceled the service request. Five minutes later I get a call that they are on their way. I told them not to bother, I'd be calling someone else. They should owe me a few stars for being patient a lot longer than I should have been. Edit - was contacted by Management after I called to cancel the service request. He arranged to get a truck out and serviced later the same day and offered an acceptable discount due to scheduling issues on their part. Technicians that came out were courteous, efficient and did a good job so I'm adding a couple of stars for them. I understand emergencies and staffing issues, but if it's going to be a month to get someone out, just tell me that up front. I would have understood and had no problem waiting.

But, that's another review for another time. Thanks Colby.

In 2018 I hired We Care Heating & Air to replace my ductwork. The original ductwork in my home was…read moreall metal and working properly, except for a prior addition that wasn't heating/cooling correctly because it had been tied into a small line instead of the trunk. Rather than correcting that one issue, the company convinced me to replace my entire duct system. During the installation, their crew moved a water line but failed to glue it properly. Two days after completion, the joint came apart and flooded my crawl space. They returned, pumped the water out, and promised to install a dehumidifier, but never did. Instead, they left a poorly installed vapor barrier that was ineffective. Since then, every supply line they installed has leaked air into the crawl space. This leakage has created moisture, condensate, and mold growth that were never issues before their work. Because I underwent multiple spinal surgeries after the installation, I was unable to inspect the crawl space myself and relied on the company's assurances that I would "never have condensate in the crawl space again." Today, photographic evidence shows the opposite. When I later called to ask why the ducts were leaking, the technician told me the problem was "above his pay grade." Instead of addressing their mistakes, the company attempted to sell me an encapsulation. This job cost me thousands of dollars and was sold as a fully engineered duct system. Instead, I was left with unnecessary replacement, property damage, mold, and poor workmanship.

I spoke to Mr. Greene in April, and everything seemed efficient at that time. However, he failed to inform me that he sold the company two years ago and wouldn't be working on our well. It was actually another company even though he still works there and they are using both businesses' names (DJ Pumps is the other). That was mid-April when the contract was signed. They didn't come to our property until late June, without warning or communication. The crew that came did nothing but complain about how low Mr. Greene's bid was. Our neighbors' wells average 50 feet deep, but they insisted on drilling until 190 feet, admitting they would get a bonus the further they drilled, also knowing that would raise the consumer price. After a week on our property working very short days and not drilling properly, they gave up and said another crew with a larger drill would have to come out. In all honestly, they didn't know what they were doing and couldn't keep the proper viscosity for the well. There was over a month with not one word from them. I tried multiple times to communicate, but they refused. When they finally came back, they refused to run PVC casing, which would have again met the smaller bid. They never attempted, never communicated, and continued to run the bill up nearly twice the amount that it was guaranteed. Then, after drilling, it took them another 2 weeks before placing the pump. It took well over 6 MONTHS to get the well! I have a doctorate in business and have tried to explain to them how unprofessional they have been, but they refuse to listen and still refuse to communicate professionally and properly. So, I want to ensure others are aware. They pulled the same stunt on one of our neighbors, and if I had known the original business had sold, we would have NEVER chosen this company.

I did have a flood a couple of years ago and half my house was gutted. I got several contractors to come in for estimates, look around and never get back to me. Mr. Maki looked the situation over and told me how it was. He said he was a smaller company and this was a near full demo job. It was just too much for him to handle. I mentioned how one guy came out and was extremely rude and that fellow had called me. I didn't call him. He explained to me that by listing it on angi, that other guy may have paid a hundred for the lead to call me. Then, he came out to the house and discovered that it wasn't a one-man job. Therefore, the guy was out the money. Not my fault. Mr. Maki even saw the exterior door was rotting when he looked things over. I didn't realize that. I saw how the former owner had patched it up. If you value integrity and don't want to be ripped off, don't hire J&J Heating/Air and Plumbing. I…read morecontacted them to have my HVAC serviced and checked out for the pending summer heat, and to have plumbing services (constant running of a toilet, driving me crazy). My initial interaction with Lisa was assuring--she was polite, professional and transparent (mostly before the fact). She explained there would be a separate fee for each service call, in addition to any work done-- $79 for HVAC and $75 for plumbing. She also said, if needed, a customer supplied toilet installation would cost $350, which admittedly, she acknowledged was pricey, and that I was not obligated for the install. The HVAC service technician came out first and no problems here. The next day the plumber came. He informed me that the constant running was an issue with the make of the toilet and to fix it would be more than the cost of a new one. We happened to have a new, unopened toilet on hand and my husband suggested we install it. However, I said I thought the price tag for the install was a bit too much. That's when he said he would install it for $250, so I agreed. Here is where the lack of honesty and integrity began. After removing the toilet, two extended trips to Loews were made; the first was to purchase a flange that he said needed replacing and the second to purchase H2O lines. Why didn't they know new lines were needed, they had the toilet specs and experience. When all was said and done the cost to me was $550. Now I expected to pay for the flange and H2O lines, but $225, NO WAY, I've bought both these items several times in the past. The cost combined, on the highest end shouldn't have been more than $40. When I questioned him, he tried to tell me that this is what it cost to replace the flange. I was livid, paid him, and decided I would take it up with the company. I called to ask for a detailed invoice and Lisa said they didn't break down the labor from the parts, they just charged a flat fee (she didn't explain this initially). When I received the invoice via email, it read--repair toilet flange $225. So now it went from a replacement to a repair, obviously to justify the cost. Even if that wasn't the case, what happen to communicating with the client regarding "work changes." Again, I wasn't going to share my experience, but, when trying to dispose of it, a rep from the City of WR said the bulk pick-up policy for toilets had changed in the last two years and that the "contractor" should have disposed of it as a courtesy or as apart of the cost. For $550, you damn right he should have!
