I've lived here 4.5 years so please read my review if you're considering moving here…read more The things I like: The layout & location are awesome. I have the original unit (no upgrades) and its perfectly fine. If there was an issue with an appliance, it was fixed or replaced (thanks to Jamie, the Assistant Manager). The neighbors are generally quiet but you can hear the people below you (I'm on the 3rd level). The gym is basic and the pool is cute (I'll miss this the most). A landscaping crew cuts the grass weekly & the maintenance crew here does a phenomenal job when it snows. The office does Saturday brunches (for free!) and will give cute gifts for the Holidays. The closet space in both rooms are great & the electric bills are very manageable! Generally, the apartment is a cozy home. The things I dislike: Office communication. Since Melissa Lovell became manager, communication is awful. She simply doesn't respond. Jamie does try to get back to you when she can. They do "pest control" and do "water quality" testing every 2-3 mo meaning a technician & person from the office will be in your home. Just a heads up. Maintenance is hit or miss. I've had my dishwasher and dryer replaced but the ceiling leaking and causing mold growth was never addressed. They did replace the roof last year though. The things to keep in mind: If your unit is further back towards the trash bin, parking is tough. No one wants to walk from a parking space by the field all the way to their unit. They offer reserved parking but it's $25/mo. I personally have it but without, parking is minimal. Rent increases are insane. The past 3 renewals have increased an avg of $125/mo. The office first claimed that it was due to inflation (how does that affect current tenants that much??) but then said that I'm still under market. I'm not unreasonable but those are big increases year after year. Overall thoughts: I've really enjoyed living here & love the layout. The office communication is frustrating. The rent increases are out of control. The location is awesome. I would still choose to live here again, but the office communication HAS to improve & be prepared for large rent increases each year.

The management by the manager is very bad. She has a bad attitude, if something breaks they don't…read morefix it quickly, sometimes it takes up to weeks to fix something. This is something that the owners should check if they want to raise their level, it is getting worse and worse.

We were sent a move-in letter, stating that our move-in day was May 5th, 2018. We were greeted in a…read morevery rude manner and both Crystal (the "property manager") and Shelby (the "office assistant") looked very surprised by the fact that we were there. Shelby told us the 5th was okay to move in; however, never communicated that to Crystal, and so, they didn't have an apartment ready for us (although they pretended that they did). Shelby took us to a dirty apartment that had not been cleaned and was saturated with the smell of cigarette smoke. I asked if this was the only apartment available and she reassured me that it was. (I would later have a family member call the office, only to find that there were several available apartments at that time). I began wiping all the cabinets and fixtures, which were all covered in a thick, yellow residue from the previous tenant smoking inside. We also found old clothes that the previous tenant left behind, remnants of food in the kitchen, and dead bugs everywhere. All of our items began to reek of cigarette smoke. My coworkers actually complained of how badly I smelled of smoke. Crystal's solution to our problem was to bring a fogger into our apartment and fog the place out to get rid of the cigarette smoke smell. They attempted to come in to our apartment and FOG THE PLACE WHILE OUR ANIMALS WERE INSIDE! We were finally moved to a new unit, which we later discovered it had a serious mold issue. All of our belongings began growing mold! When we moved out, we ended up throwing the majority of our things away, as they had all grown mold spores. When Joe, the maintenance man arrived, he was incredibly rude and told us that our cat was drinking from her water fountain and dripping water throughout the apartment, and that's why we had mold (hard to believe someone would suggest this, I know). We eventually realized the A/C unit, which is located behind the walls, had been leaking water for months. We finally realized this hidden issue when we woke up to a small pond in our hallway. When you report a problem, you'll be ASSIGNED instead of asked a time that maintenance can enter your unit. If this day/time doesn't work for you, expect to receive a response similar to, "Well the truth is if you have issues with the apartment and you keep complaining of these issues it must not be that serious if you continue to keep rescheduling." So if you work Monday-Friday 9-5, don't dare "complain" of MOLD in your apartment. Not everyone can be available 24/7 for your sketchy, cigarette smoking maintenance crew. Some of us have REAL JOBS. As if this place couldn't get any worse, I was rather embarrassed when my family (including my nine year old sister) came to visit and went to use the pool. During their time at the pool, two young residents entered the pool area with glass beer bottles and began drinking beer and smoking pot at the pool. Mind you, drug deals are not an uncommon occurrence on Island Club property. I suggest closing all windows after dark, as there are usually fights in the parking lot, and revving of engines and motorcycles until 2am. In addition, there are a plethora of wild animals living on the property, probably because the dumpsters overflow with garbage weekly. This may also be the reason for the cockroach issue, for which they will insist on coming into your apartment to spray chemicals once a month. So, if you have pets, be prepared to have to "accommodate" them with less than 24 hours notice. The online portal that is used for monthly payments never works. I ended up writing a cashier's check for the remainder of our five month rent, so I wouldn't have to deal with these incompetent, careless people ever again. I left the accounting department seven messages. I called the senior accountant and left a message and I called Crystal's boss, Kathy, and left a message. No one returned my phone calls. The lack of concern and professionalism is baffling. This is the worst place I've ever lived and I wouldn't recommend Island Club to anyone.
