Where to start. The only nice one of the bunch is the gunsmith. He's a super humble, friendly guy and it is always a pleasure to interact with him. The couple that owns the shop however, is a totally different story. They are only friendly with some customers. If you don't look like them, you probably aren't getting the friendly treatment and you will be ignored for a while until eventually they have no choice other than address you. They want to sell everything at MSRP and complain about anyone looking for a good market price. They will literally scold you if something doesn't go their way. If at least they were truly nice to all customers and actually friendly and reasonable, then this last part would be no big deal, but they aren't so it doesn't help that they have a large warehouse, yet the customer section is a tiny ugly showroom that looks like it's run by a 90 year old that lost their will to keep an organized and well presented store front. To the owners, would it kill you to greet everyone when they come into your store? Almost every time I go, you ignore me. I have literally stood there for five minutes and you have to buzz everyone into that tiny front lobby. Sometimes when the place is empty you actually say hello, but even then you just ignore me and I actually buy stuff from you or at least I used to until got tired of everything stated above. read more

I came to Pompano Pawn & Guns primarily for Josh their gunsmith to get some work done on my AK. I couldn't be happier, he was very helpful and knowledgeable on these matters & did some awesome work on my rifle. A friend ordered a rifle and brought me along to check out the store. I was a newbie and bought two 9mm's that weren't suited for me and Kim & Keith gave me a reasonable exchange deal I couldn't be any happier. I returned for more business! So far I've bought a 9mm, .38 revolver & a great .22 rifle. I won't go anywhere else for so many choices in a relaxed gun buying atmosphere. Getting ammo is tough but I get my ammo here & all my accessories and all at reasonable prices. You have to trust some online places (correct merchandise, shipping and taxes) but if Pompano Pawn doesn't have it they'll order it for you! You should know there's even a CCW (Conceal Carry Weapons) licensing class three times a week at Pompano Pawn. A great instructor with years of experience that will teach with understanding and calm! read more

Stopped by on the recommendation of a friend who said they'd have some things I'd be interested in. Staff was very helpful, friendly and, knowledgeable. The inventory was really impressive for a small shop. They had a huge variety of firearms and even a Silencer Shop kiosk to speed up processing NFA items. They also said if they didn't have something in stock, they'd be happy to see about ordering it in. F*** THIS "PAWN SHOP". When the owner makes an offer on a piece of jewelry I had to pawn, and he told me to go elsewhere and find out other prices and I could come back. So then I came back, this piece of SHIT had the audacity to "buzz me in" when apparently his computer was turned off, and he decided to then tell me that they were no longer purchasing jewelry, meanwhile there was 3 other customers lined up in there. (Honestly wondering why even wasted my time buzzing me in, also learn to turn your closed sign on ;) I have a baby on the way, and a 1 year old, trying to get some extra money meanwhile this COVID -19 is making our world fall apart, and this piece of shit could careless. read more

i have been to many gun shops/pawn shops in south florida and been treated like an average joe from the workers and owners and felt uncomfortable until i met kim and keith at pompano pawn. the most friendliest people i have met that treat you with respect and curiosity. smiles on their faces and will even sit and have a chat with you about the weather without making you feel rushed. i have been laid off since march and i had to make a choice to get by until i get back to work. they had no issues with helping me during this tough time. i will NO LONGER shop anywhere else besides pompano pawn. i also believe in supporting small family ran businesses. customer for life. thanks kim and keith. ps i want that patriots little banner. thanks again. allen read more

I've dealt with Pompano Pawn on multiple occasions over the past few years. I've never pawned anything with them so I can't speak to that process or experience. What I've used them for was to facilitate the required documentation and background check for weapon transfers that I had purchased online. Yes contrary to what Michael Bloomberg and many people lead you to believe, you actually are required to go through the required background checks for weapons purchased online. They charge a fee of $35.00 to handle the paperwork. The process has always been quick and easy in my case. The one thing that I like about doing that here is that they don't make you feel guilty for not purchasing a weapon from them. I've been made to feel guilty from other dealers when I've made purchases online. I've found the prices to be lower here compared to nearby dealers. They also have a good selection of weapons and accessories. I always purchase my holsters and ammo here when completing the weapons transfer. The only issue that I've had is that when I ask for a single box of ammo I usually get, "So you'd like three boxes right?" No I would just like one. "Are you sure?" Yes I'm positive. I'm a sales guy myself so I know that nothing feels better than closing a deal and upselling as well. I get it. I've been happy with the treatment and help that I've received during each visit here. This is a great family owned and operated business. If you purchase a weapon online, you can feel comfortable having it sent here to complete the transfer. I purchased my 1st Glock over at this shop. Never bought a DOA pistol, but after doing some homework about the G30S I was content on picking one up to carry. While getting the timing adjusted on my .357 by my gunsmith, he mentioned the shop he does some work for often for a couple down in Pompano. I called after and talked to Kim. Within 2minutes on the phone I knew I was going there to pawn my old Berreta Cheetah to and to pick up the Glock... honestly walk around the shop after the purchase to spend some more loose change; Thank you guys if you're reading this... No way will I buy anywhere else besides Keith and Kim's shop!! read more

HUGE RIPOFF!! The prices here are outrageous. They tell you they have the best deals when their guns and especially their ammo are doubled. The staff is really rude and don't really care about helping. Go pawn/buy you're weapons somewhere else. read more

8-31-16 I was at the West Palm Beach Gun Show earlier in the month and Kim and her husband who are the owners of Pompano Pawn gave me an EXTREMELY fair price for a Daniel Defense AR that I was looking for. Unfortunately, I was about $100 short of the cash$$ I had on me. A couple of weeks later, I sent Kim an e-mail of the price offered to me at the WPB Gun Show and I asked her if she was willing to honor that price and she said yes. I went to their store in Pompano and made the purchased today (8-31-16) and everything was on the up and up with no hidden fees, other than 6% sales tax and a usual back ground check. Go see them this weekend at the Miami Gun Show or at their Pompano location. Their prices are always fair and within the ballpark. Don't believe the other sub-par reviews.
