I had bought tires at Pomp's which came with free tire rotations. Tire installation and my first rotation went on with no problems. I went today to get another rotation and oil change. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle after being there for over 6 hours, I was informed they were unable to rotate my tires because one of my lug nuts was stripped out. The receptionist guy said they were a weird lug nut and that I should replace them (which they could do if I made another appointment and paid them over $100). When I questioned him as to how this was possible considering Pomp's workers had been the one's who had taken the lug nuts off the previous 2 times, he became very angry. He yelled at me, saying it was a worn out lug nut and an issue with the type of lug nut and not the work done by the crew. My argument was that lug nuts dont just wear out in such a way that they strip themselves out. Again he became irate and yelled at me. At that point I finished paying my bill and left the store. I will never go back even though I'm owed free rotations for another few years, and on top of that, now I have to pay to get the lug nut they stripped fixed by another tire shop. I ordered four tires through USAA's program with Goodyear, and the only tire shop set up in their system is Pomp's. My son brought his Chevy Blazer in for the new tires, and we also added an alignment service. After putting the vehicle up on the rack, the service tech told us he needed a new Pitman arm and various other parts they recognized as "not brand new." Since the vehicle had been serviced TWO DAYS prior, with the Pitman arm rated a 2/10, meaning it wasn't anywhere near the end of life, we argued that it absolutely didn't need one and to proceed with the service. They refused to do the alignment if we didn't allow them the $700 repair first. My son took the car back to the original service center, who verified the vehicle needed NO other repairs and that the Pitman arm was absolutely fine. Clearly, this is a shakedown at Pomp's for money on unnecessary repairs. I'm not sure if they don't make enough money on the tires through the USAA Goodyear program, but they were also getting an alignment service out of us. Not anymore. We're taking the vehicle ANYWHERE but Pomp's for an alignment. I'll be letting USAA know that Pomp's is unqualified to partner with them for their Goodyear program. USAA is a bank and an insurance company for military members and their families. Pomps ought to be ashamed of themselves for trying to take advantage of ANYONE, let alone the military and their family members & retirees. 0/10. Do NOT recommend. read more

They are the only place in the area that was able to align my class C rv. Josh did a great job and quick too. However, I don't think he adjusted my flux capacitor correctly as I've noticed I make the space/time jump slightly after 88 mph. So just be aware that he does need to bone up on his quantum mechanics. read more

Went here for 6 new tires, (truck with dual rears). The receptionist was very nice. The person filling out the work was nice and helpful. "Alfred" did the work and was very efficient and fast but was absolutely the most unfriendly person ever! You speak to him directly and he completely ignored you, no smiles, no response, no acknowledgement that you are there--as if you don't even exist. He snapped at me once because I got into "his space". I would have given this business a 5 star rating if not for his attitude! read more

I bought a set of 4 tires for over 700 dollars, in November and in march I was looking at my back tires and they were very worn down the thread on them , so I went back to the shop and ask them to come look at my tires. when the man came out, he said I can see your problem. Those are not our tires. ! So they check their inventory and found my other two sets of tires on the shelf ! He made the comment is that really would've messed up our inventory at the end of the year ! They did put the other two on for me that I had already paid , but I had went all winter with my old Unsafe tires without my knowledge ! I had also gotten an alignment that day now I'm wondering if they even done that , I will not be going back as I didn't get an apology I only G that's never happened before haha I did not think it was funny ! Very unprofessional. I made an appointment with them to have new tires put on and my vehicle aligned. They had to order the tires from out of town. The appointment was set a week and a half before the appointment date. I arrived on time for my appointment and was told at that time the tire was not yet in and showing only sent for delivery the day before. I asked why I was not informed prior to coming in that they would not be able to keep the appointment, and he said he just found out the tire didn't arrive. Apparently, the do no have any kind of business practice implemented that will ensure what they need they do have for their customer's appointments. I was seriously unimpressed with this inconsiderate business practice. Let alone the actual customer service was sub-par, like zero effort to seem friendly or interested, but more importantly they were completely inconsiderate of their new customer's ( and potential future customer) free time. I cut my night short the night before with a dear friend who was visiting from out of town due to my 8AM appointment with Whalen the next morning. Let alone driving 10 miles into town to be told they couldn't do the job. I DO NOT recommend doing business with them. They are unprofessional and seemingly could care less about their customers. read more

Horrendous Customer Service. Lefty my phone at the desk when I paid for my brand new set of tires from them. We called them about 40 miles out and they said they had my phone, but they could care less about me or my phone. No willingness to help me out after I had bought tires from them. After I begged them to send it to me and told them I would pay AT ANY COST, their receptionist promised to take care of it and promised to call me back. She never called back, and then when Chase, their apparent assistant manager did mail my phone to me A DAY LATER, he put it in the slowest possible class of mail. It is now going to be 6 days before my phone arrives. INCOMPETENT SORRY CUSTOMER SERVICE. All he did was say that he was sorry he did such a stupid thing. What incompetent idiot would do this? I arrived at the Missoula location early in the afternoon for a tire rotate and to repair a leaky tire. Four employees were rotating tires on three vehicles ahead me in two bays. The other two bays were stacked full of old tires and junk. The place was a mess. It took them 1.5 hours to do two vehicles. Slowest laziest bunch of people I have ever witnessed. I informed the manager that I could wait no longer and would no longer do business with Whalen Tire in Missoula. When asked why I mentioned the slow pace of his employees and he just shrugged and let me leave. Don't bother with this location until the manager and employees get replaced. read more

This place is wonderful. They quote a fair price and they honor it! I was involved in a hit-and-run and Shawn looked at my vehicle. I had gotten quotes from other places and was told the rack and pinon needed to be replaced. He looked at it and said there was no leak; and that it was fine. That saved me $800. He also checked out my tie rods and everything else that concerned me. He even took me back and let me look at it while he talked me through everything. I really trust a shop that does that! I will def be going back there to have Shawn do any future work I need. I highly recommend this place for their fair pricing and knowledgeable mechanics! read more

kudos for great customer service. My daughter took her carin for an alignment check after being in a wreck. When she picked up the car theyhad actually done the alinement. They claimed she told them she wanted an alinement but the appt was made for a check only. When we complained they promptly offered a refund even tho it was iffy as to whose fault it was.
