My friend brought me here. I am not a super fan of vegetables but I fell in love with this place…read moreinstantly. There are a min farm, play ground and fun set up for kids. Fresh and colourful vegetables. We bought so many different veggies and digger up some sweet potato. Families were here to pick apples. We love the donuts we freshly made on-site. They had sweet potato and maple sugar in it. We almost finished one box on our way back. Solid stuff. Apple juice and apple pies are must have too. Such a fun experience.

Loved the farm. Many fresh, fresh, fresh vegetables. You can collect them yourself from the fields…read moreor just shop from the farm store. The most important for me, the tomatoes, the heirloom tomatoes are outstanding, top quality, many many varieties can be purchased there including big baskets of San Marzano and Roma tomatoes for canning at very reasonable prices. I also obtained okra of great quality you would rarely find in the supermarkets. The entire place is well organized. There is enough parking behind the shop. The kids have many options to stay active, while the parents procure their veggies: little farm with alpacas and bunnies, playground with bouncy surface. Don't miss the sweet potato and maple doughnuts, they are simply delicious. With the fall taking over I will be definitely back for some apples and pumpkin picking.

This farm is located not too far from Montreal, it took us around 35 minutes to get there. You have…read morethe choice to either buy some already filled strawberries baskets or pick your own. We chose to pick our own. When you arrive, someone will give you how ever many empty baskets you want, and then explain how it works. It's pretty simple, you fill your baskets with strawberries while eating as many from the field as you want and then you pay when you leave. Each basket can contain up to 4 liters of strawberries and costs $9. Depending on the season, you can also pick raspberries, tomatoes, zucchinis or many others things. Québec strawberries are smaller, more red, and extremely sweet, so I really love to picking them myself every year when I can. It's a great getaway from the city and it's enlightening to get your fresh fruits and veggies directly at the farm. If you're going during lunch time, don't forget to pack a picnic. They have a few picnic tables for people to use so you can spend some time there after or before picking your fruits, enjoying a nice picnic outside, and then going to get your dessert directly from the field. :) They are open 7 days a week so you can go anytime you want. Monday to Friday from 7AM to 7PM and Saturday and Sunday from 7AM to 6PM.

Along with the veggie basket, we got a huge basket of jalapeños so we can make our own sriracha sauce. We got zucchinis, tomatoes, all sorts of peppers, eggplants... It was fun! It was cheap!!! A beautiful working monastery in the heart of the rural Eastern Townships, the Abbaye de…read moreSaint-Benoit-du-Lac was well worth the visit. It is a relatively modern monastery, built over the course of the early to mid 1900s. We went on a Sunday morning for mass and found the sanctuary full of parishioners and tourists. The Gregorian chant was beautiful to hear, although we weren't able to stay for the whole liturgy due to a very impatient infant. We weren't there for a tour, but did stop to read some of the displays describing the history of the monastery and the rhythms of monastic life. The colored brickwork and overall architecture is beautiful. There aren't a lot of spaces open to the public, but we still enjoyed walking around and seeing some of the snow-covered grounds. The monastery is known for its cheeses and jams, so a visit to the store was on our agenda. The store, however, was located in the basement, and the only access we could find was a flight of stairs. We had a stroller, though, and couldn't find an elevator. We ended up taking turns walking the baby outside while the other person explored the store. The grounds at this time (April) were mostly not open to the public, but I've read that they have some walking trails. When it was my turn, I didn't have much time to look. But it looked like they had a large selection of abbey-made items as well as a bookstore with a good sized children's section. I bought some postcards and a French-language children's missel for a friend, but would have looked longer if I could. The Tall Man picked up a four pack of cheeses for a Swiss friend, who loved it, plus some other goodies, but we wished we had some jam! They didn't have larger bags at the register, but they did have some empty boxes. There are a couple parking lots that quickly filled up for mass. I would love to know if they have an accessible entrance to the store. By the time I found some of the store staff, though, I didn't ask since I needed to go. We noticed others who either left strollers outside or turned back from the abbey entrance.
