Do not believe a word of it, this veterinary Clinic is poor to say the least. Our beautiful collie girl was extremely poorly, but not diagnosed by any of the vets here, until we persisted.
For weeks we returned to the clinic to be told the lump on her leg was and I quote A Bee Sting even after we explained the lump had been getting bigger for many weeks, the diagnosis remained the same.
Finally we requested, yes we requested a biopsy to be performed as their diagnosis made no sense, we have had dogs for many years and know a bee sting when we see it. After many requests, they finally performed the biopsy, (many months by this stage down the line).
Unfortunately it was found to be a cancerous growth, and it was too late to start any sort of treatment, as this would only decrease her quality of life, and there was no chance of saving her as the cancer had advanced so far.
We had been going to the Polsloe Veterinary Clinic since 1995, and had always found Lockton to be very reasonably priced, an excellent level of care and continuity of care and service exceptional. This most certainly has not been the case over the past few years, we persisted out of loyalty to the practice and trusted they were skilled professionals, how wrong could we have been. Each visit we were greeted with a new face of which we would go through the whole history each time, they promote special dog food and other products we didn't need, but very little in many cases of veterinary care.
After the biopsy, which took only about 20 minutes in total, we were allowed to pick her up (later that day) and care for her at home, we were presented with a ridiculous bill of nearly £600 for a total of them having her for about 4 hours in total.
As if this wasn't enough to have trusted them for so long to repeatedly misdiagnose her and then to be told by the time they got it right, it was too late now to do anything. We were horrified, our collie girl was a rescue dog and we'd had her from a puppy, she was hand fed and had never been away from us in all the time she'd been on the planet.
We took her to another Vet Clinic, out of Exeter and had her reviewed and started a palliative care programme. Our new Veterinary Clinic is excellent, we had to request both our dogs medical records be transferred 6 times over a period of 9 months, this was done in writing, in person, over the phone, and by the new veterinary clinic. When the medical history's of both of our dogs were finally sent through, her records were incomplete, and missing vital information and visits we had made were also missing from her file. There was no apparent duty of care on any level.
I would not recommend their level of care or understanding of animals on any level, I have since discussed this clinic with other pet owners around Exeter, who have had poor experiences with this clinic.
I would not recommend them to care for a plant let alone your beloved animal. read more
