Let's be honest, this is not a tourist destination but it is locales destination. This is grilled chicken location right off the freeway. Not kidding. You'll have to yell to your companions if you want to keep the conversation going. If you can deal with the roadside noise and the lack of interior design, then you'll be very pleased with the seasoning of the grilled chicken. There many of these types of location throughout Mexico, some are called El Pollo Pepe and any number of variations. This is locally owned and run by a family. There are two sons, one presides over the grill with no A/C and the other cuts the chicken. ( Check out the picture ) The daughter ? or the wife of the one of the son's serves the customers. The mom is preparing the next batch of chicken and the grandmother is making hand made authentic tortillas. Everyone is busy doing their assigned jobs. Depending on your party, getting two chickens will serve 6 people. You may decide to have leftovers since the chicken so good. There are no mashed potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw etc... It's chicken and tortillas. Well, you do get a plate with a little bit of Iceburg lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, typical Mexico garnish plate with a little rice, but that's it. This isn't a El Pollo Loco or KFC and that is a good thing. The chicken is cut expertly into about six to eight pieces. The marination is just right, garlic, lime, salt, and pepper and a little of adobo, but don't rely on me, try it with your taste buds. The chicken is piping hot and I mean hot, you may want to let it sit for a little but not too long, since you will be looking while everyone else will be eating. The marination is not spicy so if you think its hot in that sense, it is not. The outer skin has a nice crunch and even some charness to it, and that's cool but the meat inside is soft, wet and juicy. There are restrooms, however, I did not check to see how they were and they do service the typical Coke products in a glass bottle. Looking for something authentic and unique?
