This is my experience regarding an hair cut. 1, hair does grow out. Be adventurous with each visit to the salon. 2, every hair has different textures. Don't expect your style to look same as magazine or your friend. 3, learn how to style your own hair to suit your life style. It doesn't matter how good hair cut is if you don't know how to style it after you leave the salon. Been to many salons in many countries due to the my jobs. And my experience of Jayji salon is positive one.

However, when I asked for a trim and a setting perm of the straight parts of my hair that grew in, what I got was a complete cut and perm. I asked the stylist for what I did so I could maintain the length of my hair; now its at a little past shoulder length. Even while I was having my hair cut, I asked her to not cut it so short, or to put in too many layers. The response I got was "don't worry, it won't turn out too short/thin." Was in the salon for four hours, when in the past similar styles have taken around 2.5 hours longest. Cost me around $200 for an unsatisfying experience. I'd suggest staying away from this salon if you have specific instructions for your hair.

I tried to reach out to them via Instagram but they never responded, so I walked in the day before and asked if they had available the next day. They were very nice and personally recommended me a hair stylist, Kimi. I went the next day and they quickly sorted me out. Although there was a language barrier Kimi was very nice and took care of me right away after I showed him what I wanted. His cut and styling looked exactly like my reference photo, and he even gave me advice using a translator. Would definitely come in and request him again!!

Flushing is definitely a trek for me but I was happy enough with my haircut that I'll be returning. The environment is so pleasant, clean and opened to day light. The workers are friendly and are open for conversations. I asked for a grey ombré which is pretty hard for dark Asian hair. I only had to bleach my hair once and the color transferred perfectly. If you ever need a hair stylist ask for Iris, she may be an amateur but she does an amazing job mixing colors. Plus my hairdo including bleach color hair treatment and blow cut and curl for an amazing price. Never changing salons again, this is probably the one and only salon I trust with my hair

I also found Jonathan's Instagram page and literally liked all of his pictures because the work he does is amazing! I finally had the balls to msg him and get a consultation in person. This guy tells the truth and nothing but the truth! I wanted platinum hair color but he said i won't be able to get it done the first time because my dark dark hair needs to be bleached several times so we opted for ash blonde. He told me the price and that it was a package. He gave me his cell # and always contacted each other through texts. He's so awesome. He answers right away if he has a chance and understood exactly what needed to be done from what I wanted and from if it's possible without damaging my hair so much. I finally came in on Saturday morning as his first appt and he broke down the hours and details of what he is going to do to my hair. It was a long process that was well worth it because I have thick dark Asian hair. Thanks to his assistant Iris as well for helping! She's so nice and awesome. It's really hard for Asian hair to be bleached. Every step he told me exactly what was happening. He had so much patience with me and I love it! He is now my new colorist!
