This place is overall amazing. I want to say that the place itself is a very calm modern feel and definitely is a place you want to dine in. They have the menu set up but usually it's more of a build your own. You have options of a bowl, burrito or a salad all of Poké. Personally I have always gotten the bowl. You get a pen and fill out your little menu card and turn it in to the cashier and then wait. Your order comes in a packaged container and in a bag when ready that way you don't have to ask for togo containers. Overall I love this place for its fresh delicious food! I usually get the bowl with white rice, chicken and avocado, pineapple, cucumber, sweet teriyaki sauce, and sesame seed. That is my favorite combo. We have also tried the burritos with salmon and tofu and all of it is great. The burrito is like a giant sushi roll in my opinion. also the tea slush are a MUST TRY! i love the pineapple and also the white peach! this place is definitely a great place to try it is a little pricier than most but it is worth it. I've wanted to come to Pokenori for awhile so when I happened to be in downtown Spartanburg this past week, I made sure to stop here for lunch. I've been to Poke Bros which is the other poke place in the Upstate but wow Pokenori was definitely the better experience. What a cute restaurant!! I was surprised by all the adorable decor and how cozy the restaurant was. You order at the counter and you get to choose between a sushi burrito, a poke bowl, or salad. They have a few sushi burrito options to choose from but I preferred to make my own. For about $10-11, you can choose two proteins and as many other add-ins as you want. I chose the salmon and ahi tuna and filled the sushi with carrots, seaweed salad, onion, crunchy garlic/onion. There's so many options to choose from including vegetarian options with tofu or if you're not a seafood fan, you can choose chicken. I was so full after half a sushi burrito, I got dinner out of the leftovers. read more

I ordered the large bowl $11 which comes with 3 protein choices: I chose shrimp, spicy tuna, and crab. Has enough left for another meal. All so well cooked and flavorful! Underneath was brown rice and lettuce. You can chose white rice and remove lettuce if you like. There's tons of amazing topping to add like edamame, yellow radish, mango, pineapple, cabbage, seaweed salad, carrot, red onion, the little crunchy orange fish eggs, avocado, cream cheese, sweet egg,and more! I got almost everything and loved it! Then you can drizzle sauce on top. The sriracha aioli is great! Service was really nice, helpful, and friendly. Took way too long for what it was and thai tea should've been called something else because it tasted wayyyy too sweet and also tasted more like jasmine? Young kid at the register was nice though, plus outdoor seating and nearby parking earned the stars. They started offering bubble tea, but doesn't look fresh likely made from powder. All in all, go if you hace no choice but not a hype. read more

Drove through Spartanburg on a road trip when my dad and I decided to stop for lunch. He's never tried Poke before, but absolutely loves sashimi and sushi. One quick Yelp search and we set our eyes on Pokenori, a cute Poke shop in the heart of downtown Spartanburg. We both got custom bowls, and our server was great at explaining all the choices to my confused dad. We each got a salad bowl with two proteins ($8.95): salmon and tuna. Next was the mix-ins, which gave a variety of vegetables and fruits to choose from, such as cucumber, cabbage, kale, edamame, mango, pineapple (just to name a few). You pick a yummy sauce and they mix everything you've picked so far in a big bowl to get it coated nice and evenly. After that, you get to pick some toppings, such as seaweed salad (a personal favorite), ginger, masago, furikake, nori, etc. Finally you get to choose your crunch factor, with options including sesame seeds, wontons, fried onions, and more. The result? A beautiful custom bowl of delicious food. My biggest gripe about Poke restaurants is when they limit your mix-ins and toppings. Luckily, Pokenori has UNLIMITED toppings up for your choosing. So naturally, my dad and I almost got every topping available. We even decided to splurge and spend that extra $1.50 for avocado on one of the bowls, and they gave a generous whole (freshly sliced upon request) avocado! Our bowls were so big and it made for a deliciously filling meal. Dad was super pleased with his bowl and now proclaims his love for Poke. Delicious food, huge portions, reasonable prices. I mean I lived on the west coast for so long, that this place would be probably get a 2-star or 3-star rating on the west coast but since it's the only place of its type or kind in Spartanburg, South Carolina it gets four stars. The people are really really nice there. I didn't get sick from eating the raw fish which is always a plus. I'm just used to a little bit different style of pokebowls. I went for the first time the other day after walking past it for years. I was under the impression that most of their meat was raw, and that was not the case. They have more cooked meat options than raw option. I really appreciate how you can build your own burrito or bowl and make it exactly what you want. There is a base fee of 10.50 I believe, which is excellent for the sheer amount of food you'll receive and for the fact that you are able to customize it exactly to what you'll like. The place is so clean, you won't have to wait long, and they have a great little outdoor seating area. There are parking spaces right beside it two garages close by. I didn't know this before going, but they also have alcohol- sake, beer, and wine. The setup is a bit like Chipotle with your choice of either a bowl or burrito using sushi elements. I choose the Honey Wasabi shrimp & scallop bowl. It was light, fresh, and filling. Pokenori is my new favorite thing. I just wish it were closer by. You have the option of the regular bowl (2 meats) or the larger bowl (3 meats), or you can choose one of their signature dishes. As I was reviewing the menu, I decided to take the signature dish that appealed most to me, and soup it up. This allowed me to add other flavors I love while getting more food for the same price. I got a bowl with spicy tuna and salmon, romaine, sweet onion, mango, cucumber, spicy ginger sauce, seaweed salad, masago and crispy onions. The rice was fluffy and sticky with amazing flavor. I almost felt like there wasn't quite enough ginger sauce, but I wonder if they put more on if it would drown out all of the other flavors. I added a little soy sauce as needed. All of the flavors were really fresh and delicious. You can't get anything else like this in Spartanburg. read more
