They put a generous amount of toppings on top of the rice and the flavour was good and the fish sashimi was quite fresh. Definitely no watery/soggy texture! We had intended to use downtown Guelph gift vouchers we recently received as a gift. As a business listed under the Downtown Guelph Business Association directory, they should be willing and able to accept them as they are valid as cash or cheques. They get deposited the same as a cheque into their bank, as it says on both the voucher AND the Downtown Guelph Business Association website. We arrived to pick up our order and were told that the owner does not want to accept these vouchers. The cashier had been told before that they are not willing to accept then. We insisted that they should take them as they are valid as cash or cheque at any downtown business, but apparently the owner does not want to deal with the hassle. The cashier phoned the owner who immediately told them "no, we won't take them" and hung up. We then offered to pay by credit card with Apple Pay since we had not brought our wallets. We were told it was an additional $2, and they don't have tap. We ended up leaving with nothing, and the food went to waste. It is hugely disappointing as someone who tries to support local businesses to be turned away because they don't want to deal with vouchers from their own local business association. It is a service offered by the community to ensure the economic stability of the downtown core, and to see it discarded by a local business is very disheartening. It is also disappointing that they would rather see food go to waste than accept a voucher. Very dissatisfied with the lack of commitment to the community and complete lack of customer service on the part of the owner.

I was eager to love the salmon poke bowl I got from Poke Poke. Ingredients were fresh, staff were nice, and service didn't take too long. Location is also fantastic, right next to a lot of other Asian restaurants and in a pretty popular area in Mississauga. The shop is small but the ordering area is a bit cramped, flush against the wall. It wasn't that busy when I went, so that wasn't a huge issue. Pricing is about the same as everywhere else you can get poke, but portions run small. The salmon was good in terms of flavour - I love it when places marinate the salmon because it adds to the flavour of the bowl - but there wasn't a lot of it and I hit the bottom of the bowl with only rice and a bit of veggies left over. Biggest issue for me was sauce - I asked for extra (unagi and shichimi, which were solid) and got what I would consider regular at best. Dry poke is sad and ruins otherwise a fantastic meal. The price is on par with most poke places and you get a good sized portion for the regular. My bowl was packed to the brim! They were super generous with the tuna and salmon and you can tell that the ingredients were quite fresh. I loved my bowl and was super satisfied and full afterwards. I was informed at the beginning that they are planning on redoing the front of the store into a seating area so that should be coming soon. The protein variety is pretty good here and it's fun to build your own and choose your favs. The first time we tried it, we got the classic Salmon and shared it because we already had eaten dinner prior to that. It was super spicy (like kimchi spicy but minus the sour flavor)... So we drank SO much water. The second time, we decided to get more tame sauces and could actually taste all the delicious flavors of the poke. The owner is super nice. It's fairly quiet inside the restaurant and doesn't have any smell to it. The bubble tea was pretty good too! I got the classic lemonade which was basically fizzy lemonade. The tapioca was similar to Chatime in flavor, so I say pretty good!! Overall, definitely coming back!
