The service was not good. People that came in well after us got there food before us. Our waitress was definitely overwhelmed and getting clumsy as a result. She knocked a woman's purse off her chair and a glass of water over. She was forgetting things and just seemed overwhelmed. When we finally got our meals they weren't good. I ordered the filet mignon with butterfly shrimp. The shrimp was split open but still had the shell / legs on it. I don't believe the steak was actually a filet and was definitely overcooked. I had ordered potatoes too in lieu of fries and never received them. I asked the waitress about them. She apologized and said they would be right out but I never got them. They were on the bill and I had asked that they be removed. My daughter and boyfriend's meals were just ok. No real flavor. Overall it was disappointing and overpriced for un flavorful food. I would not go back or recommend.

What a great hidden gem in St Sauveur village! We originally had a reservation down the road, but…read morewe walked by and it just smelled so good and looked so inviting, that we had to walk in. We were seated immediately by a friendly waitress. I got the Tom Collins drink, which was great, and my husband was recommended a really great red wine (I don't recall the name). He got the 4 course dinner (fantastic deal for the money) and I ordered a half rack of ribs. My ribs were very good, but a bit fatty. His dinner was incredible. It started off with one of the best french onion soups I have ever had. It was the perfect appetizer for the cool winter. His main course was filet mignon, which was tender and perfect. Dessert was delicious - apple crumble with ice cream. Loved this place!

One of our favourite road trip stops in Saint-Jérôme!…read more We discovered Chez Hugo last year on our way to Estérel, and it's quickly become one of our favourite places to stop whenever we're heading north. We made sure to swing by again before our camping trip this summer, and it was just as good as we remembered. Be prepared for a lineup--this place is incredibly popular, and for good reason. Pro tip: have one person grab a table while the other waits in line to order. A lot of people order takeout, so tables tend to free up pretty quickly. We also noticed they've done some renovations since our last visit. The space looks great, and they even added a large TV, which I'm guessing is perfect for catching soccer games and other sporting events while you eat. (RestoMontreal.ca) The poutine is what keeps bringing us back. The peppercorn poutine is hands-down my favourite. If you're a fan of peppercorn sauce, you need to try it. Their Italian poutine is also delicious with a slightly sweet sauce that's a nice change from the classic, and even the original poutine is excellent. I spotted someone eating what looked like a sour cream and green onion version that I couldn't find on the menu, so that's definitely on my list for next time. My boyfriend is the burger fan between the two of us, and he loves their smash burgers. The patties are nice and thin with crispy edges and tons of flavour. I usually grab a hot dog and split a poutine, which is the perfect combo for me. Another bonus is the ice cream counter right next door. They have soft-serve, Blizzard-style treats, sundaes, and plenty of frozen desserts, making it the perfect way to finish your meal. (RestoMontreal.ca) What really makes Chez Hugo stand out is Hugo himself. He comes around to check on customers, asks how everything is, and makes sure everyone is enjoying their meal. You can tell he genuinely cares about his business and the people who support it. The staff are always friendly, and despite how busy the place gets, everything runs surprisingly smoothly. We've been here several times now, and it's officially become a tradition whenever we're heading up north. If you're driving through Saint-Jérôme, Chez Hugo is absolutely worth the stop.

Reasonably priced and the same potato shack quality you'd expect, really wasn't a fan of their poutine gravy but didn't inquire if it was because it was home made or special recipe style. Overall, I always suggest this kind of shop over Bell P.

We wanted a Margarita to start but there was no bar service so we had a pint of Rickard's Red. For lunch I ordered a chicken wrap and Pooh ordered the Moe's burger My wrap was warm; the chicken was tender and the mayonnaise aioli was delicious. The fries were crispy and reminded me of a chip wagon! Pooh's burger was very tasty and juicy; it had a bbq flavour. He enjoyed his fries too I took off one star because there was no cocktails

The atmosphere is actually very nice-looking, except for the abundance of flies. As for the food, I can only speak of the lunch experience, because I've never tried the breakfast menu. I find that fresh, healthy options are missing from the menu. For example, there is no appealing large salad option. By this I mean something uncomplicated, like a large salad with a good variety of fresh vegetables, similar to a big Greek salad. They do offer a Cesar salad, but for those who are avoiding carbs, meat or dairy, what is left is just a bowl of lettuce. When I go out to a restaurant, I want to eat something that I might not go to the trouble of making at home. One then turns to the veggie panini. This used to be an acceptable healthy option. Now it comes on highly processed white bread (like a typical hot dog bun), with an unexpected slice of Kraft cheese (not mentioned at all on the menu), which I would never choose to put into my body. For me this puts the meal into the "severely unwholesome" category. The paninis and sandwiches have always come with a sizable serving of crispy coleslaw, and very good fresh fried potatoes. Now the coleslaw has become a one-or-two bite serving, and the once yummy potatoes are about half the serving size of very thinly sliced potato chips. The one item that seems to be the most fresh and the most healthy is the Canadian pea soup. If you are in the mood for a good bowl of soup, this place should satisfy.

Location: Off the beaten path. If you don't know the area, you won't know this place exists unless…read moreyou're a local. Love it! Also, nice big parking lot available. The place: Tucked away amidst trees and homes, this restaurant screams 'campagne' and I love it! Full-on wood construction inside and out, warm, subdued colors and lots of windows that encourage natural lighting, this place offers a homey feel and a relaxed environment. They have two floors and both are well laid out. There's plenty of space between you and your fellow diners. Service: Pretty darn good. Our waitress was very friendly, and for whom this is important, perfectly bilingual. Truth be told, it's not really that hard to find English speakers in Morin Heights, as the majority of locals are Anglos. That said, have no fear - they speak French too. The goods: I only had breakfast and there's only so much one can say about eggs. I had two eggs with sausage - this came with coffee (and refills!), potatoes, toast and fruit. Everything on my plate was fresh and served piping hot. No complaints about any of it - it was all delicious. That includes the huge basket of crusty (toasted) bread. Yum! Price point: Pretty reasonable - my breakfast cost $8.25 +tax. These guys offer a pretty good variety of breakfast options, and are also open for lunch and dinner. I definitely plan to check them out again for lunch and dinner. In a town where restaurants are literally non-existent, and where your only resto options are to head to the mostly over-priced St. Sauveur, O Petit is a fantastic, affordable option.
