Stopped by for a poke bowl and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh the food was, as well as how good their boba teas are. Some toppings that are free at other places are extras here, but the sauces and toppings were all very good. Packaging is eco friendly, which is nice to see, and the service was great. The mango green tea boba was exceptional. Not too sweet or tart, and a really nice cup. Small strip mall exterior with a great little spot.
Affordable poke in a good spot in st Pete. This is a go to for locals. When I got there there were only 1 other person in line ahead of me. When I got up to order the employee was very nice to me and ask me what I wanted. This place is like chipotle for poke! I got spicy salmon and spicy tuna which was delicious. They also have free water and nice seating. One thing I will say is to bring cash because the credit card fee is a bit expensive but that's no one's fault. Besides that I had a great experience. The inside is clean and the music isn't too loud. This is my number one when it comes to poke bowls. I've been here twice already!
Such an amazing poke place! They are located in a small strip mall, so the parking situation is really easy with about 20 parking spots (usually never more than 3-5 cars parked there). The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous! All of their ingredients are insanely fresh, and I love all their different sauce choices. I wish the seaweed salad didn't cost extra, but oh well! I look forward to this being a regular place of mine.

I've been to a few poke places in Tampa now and have been disappointed with the quality of their sushi but this location offered better quality and nice big cuts. The ingredients were fresh and they cut your avocado fresh so it's not just sitting out there for a while. The brown rice was cooked perfectly and the portion sizes are generous. This is so far my favorite poke place so far.
Yum! I love Poke' and am so glad we found this place. Service was friendly, the food fresh and the dining area very clean. I would highly recommend. And grab a Thai iced tea while you are there. So good!
I love poke bowls, and when my friend and I knew we were going to be in this area around lunch time, it was a no-brainer to try Poke Island. Like most of the recent poke places to spring up, you walk down the row in front of a glass counter, telling the person making your bowl if you want rice or salad as a base, then picking your protein, then the add-ons to the bowl like vegetables, avocado, crunchy onions, etc. Their food was good, and I did enjoy my bowl, but it was disappointing that some things which are included at other poke places (like masago or krab salad) were an extra fee at this place. My two protein bowl with masago was almost $15, which is a bit high. My favorite poke places are still by USF, Tampa Campus, and in Seminole Heights, but I would probably come back if I were in the area.

Definitely try here- you won't regret it!
It's hard to find a GOOD poke bowl. They are always spot on and customer service is fantastic! I would give ten stars if I could. The boba drinks are sweet and delicious as well! I have been able to get all of my friends and family hooked onto Poke Island. We're all recurring customers. The ambiance is similar to fast food so you're quick to get in line and quick to get out of it to enjoy your delicious bowl.
Why 4 stars? Because this is a solid option for poke in Pinellas Park. --- --- --- I learned about Poke Island from Yelp's Top 50 in Tampa Bay list that came out a few months ago. Anytime I see a business with a cumulative 5-star rating, I try to make it a high priority to visit. So when I was headed from St. Pete back to Tampa, I made a slide detour over to Pinellas Park. Poke Island is like most poke places and centers around the concept of building your own bowl - choosing a base, protein, veggies, toppings and sauce. I concocted a creation of all the random things I liked and figured I'd add a taro/coconut boba to the mix. The poke bowl was quite tasty. It was all quite compact in the bowl, which did make it a bit tough to fish around for various ingredients, but that was my only issue. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it! And the boba was also pretty great, I just wish the consistency was a tad thicker. If I lived nearby, this would definitely be a place I'd be visiting regularly, but since I'm about 20 miles away, I'll just have to cross my fingers that we get one of these concepts in Carrollwood one day.

It you don't want it sweet, just use one part of eel sauce. I like the way they have the sauce on the rice first then pile all ingredients and sauce on the top. To make better, I would suggest sauce and ingredients mixed and put over rice. Then topping. This will increase the best taste. Price is good. But more protein did not mean you get more food. I would suggest that more protein with more food.
This place was SO GOOD. I've been driving past this nondescript sushi spot for years and I had the biggest craving for some Poke so I decided to randomly pop in. After having lived in Asia for half a decade and traveling up and down the West coast, I've become something of a Poke snob. I was pleasantly surprised! The tuna and salmon both tasted super fresh and the spicy tuna was just as well seasoned as you'd expect from a Poke spot in LA or SF. They also had tons of toppings and serving size was massive. I also ordered the crab wontons. They weren't anything special but if you have that very specific craving for crab wontons they get the job done. I will definitely be back for the next time my poke craving hits!

I can say no matter what you pick to go in your meal, it will be fresh! The salmon and crab that I picked for my poke bowl was perfect and didn't taste like it had been out all day like other poke restaurants. They have a massive amount of toppings and even let you mix it up by adding multiple sauces! I definitely will return, both my boyfriend and I loved our meals and our tummies did too! Don't forget to get a boba with your meal to make it perfect tooI'm a fan of the coconut taro mix!

And a craving for poke and this had high ratings. They have some pre-made bowls or a build-your-oen. I went with the custom build and a little odd that you pick on primary protein (you can add others, but it's not like other places with 2 or 3 proteins where you can mix your choice). Also, one set size (no small, medium, large). $13.95 for a salmon bowl and $3.25 extra for krab salad mix. Mix-ins are pretty standard and avocado, seaweed salad cost extra. Pretty comparable to what I'd get in Californa, except for the krab salad costing extra! Decor is really drab, so don't expect took much from tbe interior! read more

This place was SO GOOD. I've been driving past this nondescript sushi spot for years and I had the biggest craving for some Poke so I decided to randomly pop in. Poke Island offers pre-designed poke bowls, sushi burritos but where it really shines is the design your own bowl. You choose your base and then protein and then toppings of vegetables (and fruit! There was pineapple offered) and sauce. They also had boba tea smoothies with a variety of jellies or tapioca pearls inside. I love the choose your own adventure menus so I was able to really load up my bowl. One thing I'd caution was the jalapeños were very spicy! Delicious but made me really glad I chose a boba smoothie (passion fruit and also would recommend). Great place for a quick and easy lunch. read more

Ok so I know it's so expensive and normally I'll just go to eoc if I want a poke bowl bc they're 12 there. BUT THIS MAN PUT HIS WHOLE HEART INTO MY POKE BOWL TODAY!! Every bite has been magical he did it up so nice for me. This employee has godly hands or I'm just high but I think it's both. Also the portions are massive so it could be like 2 full meals if you want. read more

I would definitely recommend this spot. We got there just before the craze, the service was fast and the food was fresh! I'm always concerns about portion size when it comes to bowls so I was very please to see a good amount of food per serving. Happy full belly! read more

I quite liked the taste of the poke bowl i had ordered with 3 proteins those were spicy tuna, krab and tempura. Spicy tuna was the one i liked the most. I definitely recommend. And three proteins bowl was a huge portion. I also ordered the mango flavored bobba tea which was okay. Maybe not a place everybody would prefer to dine in but the taste if food is something to look for here. read more

Poke Island ends up being an expensive lunch option, but the quality and portion size are there, so I'm a fan! This is a create-your-own meal situation: salads, bowls, or sushi burritos. You can pick 1-3 scoops of protein, plus any number of vegetables (included), and extra toppings-- some included some not. I haven't had a bad meal here yet, but I'm personally partial to the tuna and krab mix. The vegetables are always nice and fresh. The sauces are excellent, especially the poke spice and the original spice, which has a good kick to it! I took one star off for price; it's easy to accidentally spent $13 on one bowl here, which isn't too unreasonable all things considered, but is a lot for a takeout lunch. Won't stop me from coming back, though. read more
Stopped in w my son for a quick bite. Turned out to be a REALLY tasty one too! They had an amazing selection starting with brown or white rice, salad, or a sushi burrito followed with a huge assortment of proteins , vegetables, and toppings. I tried the spicy tuna and spicy salmon, both super fresh and not overpowering. Added every topping except raw onion. THEN I let them take it uptown with wasabi mayo and spicy mayo, ginger, crunchies, and scallions. Washed it down with a crafted Thai Tea. The bowl easily makes 2 meals or fills you to the brim. The restaurant isn't fancy but the food is worth the stop. They even sell boba tho I couldn't fit one in :). Definitely on my "I need a quick flavor boost lunch" list! read more

This place is great! I go there quite often. Definitely gets 5 star review. The staff is very friendly, if you want to try something they are more than welcoming to let you try whatever you'd like. Their fish quality is top moth and flavors are great. I've had a lot of poke bowls in the area and theirs is the best. If you want a quick bite to eat and in the mood for seafood with a little bit of a twist, try out Poke Island! read more

This is my absolute favorite place to go. If you love sushi this is a must do. The food is always fresh, the employees are nice, very fairly priced, good portions. My girlfriend and I can split a poke bowl and still have leftovers. we get the same thing every time we go. Here's my order: 1- white rice 2- tuna, spicy tuna & krab mix 3- Orig Spice, Spicy mayo, Eel sauce, Yummy sauce 4- cucumber, jalapeño, red cabbage, edamame, corn, carrots, cilantro, 5- masago, avocado, seaweed salad Get one of the bubble teas to, mango or coconut are my favorites. read more

What does the avocado boba taste like? Is it sweet? Does it have the jelly or bursting boba in it? Thank you :)
I haven't had the avocado one but the boba they use is the typical brown sugar tapioca pearls! The bubble tea there is in more a of smoothie form.
