My husband is Hawaiian. Not just from Hawaii. I'm pretty sure the girls working don't know the difference, but he busted out his HI drivers license and pidgin for them. And then forced them to learn "mahalo". The mochi ice cream was just ok. I tried a bit of the tropical one and the mochi part was thin and the ice cream was more of a sorbet. I didn't think the texture of the sorbet and the mochi went together well. The inside is cute. They try to make it look more tropical I guess with fake plants.... I always have a hard time with cultural appropriation vs appreciation and I feel like things here could be much worse.
