He decided to get some mochi ice cream after bragging to the girls working that he is from Hawaii lol. So embarrassing. But they gave him an employee discount so that was cute. My husband is Hawaiian. Not just from Hawaii. I'm pretty sure the girls working don't know the difference, but he busted out his HI drivers license and pidgin for them. And then forced them to learn "mahalo". The mochi ice cream was just ok. I tried a bit of the tropical one and the mochi part was thin and the ice cream was more of a sorbet. I didn't think the texture of the sorbet and the mochi went together well. The inside is cute. They try to make it look more tropical I guess with fake plants.... I always have a hard time with cultural appropriation vs appreciation and I feel like things here could be much worse. Anyway, if you're looking for a poke bowl (or chicken bowl) this might be your place.

I knew I wanted a restaurant that seemed local and had the kind of charm only a place in Belgium could give, and this place, even though I picked it fairly quickly, was a great choice. They had a very large covered patio, which was what I was looking for. I wanted to people watch and be outside, but sheltered, so this fit the bill! I was also interesting in eating all the local foods, and they served a dark meaty local stew which they recommended. I also got some soup, since I was cold to the bone! Everything was delicious, and I was not rushed at all. I was left alone to sit, read, and eat slowly. There wasn't a line or anything either- so I knew I wasn't taking up someone's table who needed it. I finished everything except for my beer- I am a lightweight and can't finish a drink! Everything was clearly home made and stick-to-your-ribs hearty, which is what I needed on that cold day. The prices were very reasonable, and the quality was high. There were a lot more smokers on the patio than I am used to in America, but that's just par for the course, and my only 'complaint' - not that I would even call it that.

However, they have great drinks and if you make your poke bowls right, the poke bowls are a good lunch option...I would always suggest the salmon cause sometimes the shrimp and tuna look a bit run down and old. I'm going to give it 4 stars though if it was in Paris it would maybe only have 2/3 but the fact that it's the only place in Lille with decent food around the train station, it's gets 4 stars.

They have burgers, tacos, sushi, bao buns, a dessert shop, and many more options. My dinner each night was around €16 including beer. It's not your typical fast food either. The food tastes great and is casual enough that you don't feel rushed.
