Great workouts, fun dancing! They also offer youth classes and summer camp. My favorite classes right now are Joan and Annie's modern classes, and Shana's Yoga Boogie Ballet. All of them work on great technique and core strength, while also just having fun with dancing and basic to challenging choreography.

(ok language better from here on out) Let's talk about fitness with fun, dancing is the way to go. I've checked out Jacquie's Cardio Hip Hop and Beginners Hip Hop classes, they are both amazing. She's a great teacher and kicks your butt. Cardio hip hop is easy to follow and keeps your heart rate up, not to mention you are drenched with sweat by the time it's over. Jacquie also adds in a FREE weight training session to the end of both of her classes. Yeah, I said it, FREE... Whatever Jacquie says to do, I do it. Check out her body, she knows what she's doing. I dragged a friend of mine to Tika's "Zumba" class, zumba with quotes because it's not your normal zumba. Tika is all about the dance more then fitness and I appreciate that. Though I'm not drenched in sweat as much as Jacquie's cardio class, I appreciate the movement and feel Tika brings to her version of zumba. I'm a huge fan and I've been frequenting both Fairfax and Mill Valley studios at least 3 times a week. If you're looking for a great way to burn calories and having fun doing it. We had Tobias Weinberger from The Traveling Spectacular perform at our seven year old's birthday…read moreparty. He was awesome. His manner was captivating and his performance was very entertaining. He has an excellent sense of humor and all ages were enthralled. Our nine year old always tries to guess the tricks and explain them. He couldn't believe his eyes. He said he was by far the best magician he's ever seen. The adults were mesmerized by his contact juggling and sword swallowing. Definitely second to none. See him before he makes it on Broadway, Vegas or moves to Europe!

All of our guests were so impressed and entertained which was exactly what we wanted. Between their live music, their amazing stage set-up (and the truck!), their props, and costumes...the Traveling Spectacular performers and show created an incredible experience for us. We felt transported to a different time and place; just the right combination of carnival + circus. The Traveling Spectaculars took my birthday party to the next level. I saw that they'd opened, but the hours (Saturday and Sunday only) kept me from stopping in for a while. Finally, while riding my bike on errands I dropped into The Ranch when it was open and, well, this place is a find. Exactly what is "this place"? Being the first to review I am left to choose up to three categories in which to list The Ranch. This is where creative thinking comes in. First and foremost, it seems to be a place for art. There's artists works filling at least two buildings on site in addition to a sculpture garden filled with beautiful pieces. Secondly, I chose "Interior Design" as, aside from the art, the largest single tenant here seems to be The Still Collective. Housed in a large, airy space, The Still Collective does interior design and staging but what you might pop in here for is to purchase their unique furnishings and, yes, more art. A handful of small studios connect the grounds between the art space and the interiors space: art studios, ceramics, women's fashion, surf photography, and Hawaiian-inspired retail. All in all, The Ranch is a really cool place to pop in for a look-see, possibly as you make your way out to West Marin. The grounds are so serene and lovely that I hope they add live music and maybe even a coffee bar at some future point but that, of course, isn't up to me. Until then, I will no doubt make time to stop in occasionally, to see beautiful art in a beautiful space and enjoy the historic property on which it all sits. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it too. I mean: who wouldn't?
