The owners were instructed that we needed to have our dryer vents brought "up to code" as most of the vents had become disconnected... and were venting somewhere inside the building.. but not venting out side the the building. Argh... a challenging task for sure. I called several companies to come out and give me an estimate. Every single company I called said "I will find your disconnect, but you are responsible for replacing your drywall, painting, etc" Not good news. Then... Ducts On Call came out... and they spent 4 hours researching... trying to figure out which vent was mine that exited out of the back of the building. But since every single dryer vent was disconnected in the interior of the building... there was NO way they could figure it out without tearing up the ceiling in mine, and my neighbors units. I was SO frustrated. But then Nick suggested we put in a new vent duct from my unit straight out the front of the building. It was my only option. He said we would need to schedule a time in the future... but I told him I needed it done in the next 3 weeks. He said... "I will make this happen for you" Well for starters... he DID NOT CHARGE ME for the 4 hours he spent trying to figure out which vent was mine. HE SAID... "I didn't solve the problem.. so I will not charge you" What?? 4 hours of your time for free?? Moving forward..... Nick and his crew came back 2 weeks later to install my NEW, up to code dryer duct on a new path out the front of my condo. I was SO not looking forward to having my ceiling ripped open to have the duct installed. So the day had come. Nick arrived before his scheduled time and he went to to work. I asked him... "How much of my ceiling do you need to open up?" He said... "I'm not opening your ceiling... I'm going to drill a hole in the exterior of your building, and slide the new duct straight back to your dryer connection" I was beside myself! I could go on and on... but let me tell you, this guy is the real deal!! He is incredibly gifted at what he does... super friendly... hard worker, and gets the shit done!! For what I thought was going to be a day of HELL... turned out to be a day of BLISS. I CAN NOT recommend this company any more than I do!! They were AMAZING... and the job was smooth, and quick, and so much easier than I dreamed it would be. Let me state again... that I called several companies to get the job done.... and these guys were one of the newer companies I called.... but I hit the jackpot!! Trust me!! If your need Duct work done... these guys were stellar from start to finish. And no... I'm not related to them... I would also give zero stars if I could. We paid 291 bucks to get our leaky tub fixed, only to have…read moreit not be fixed. In my experience, when you call the plumber back to fix an unfinished job, that's called a callback and you don't pay for that. Pat was nice enough, but on the second visit turned on the water and the jets, told us to put a pan under the leak and left. We got a bill for 150 dollars. Imagine our surprise. At no time did anyone say that there would be a callback fee, not to mention I don't think telling me to put a pan under a leak constitutes plumbing work. We wrote them a letter to this effect and got no response, only reports to credit agencies and lawyers. Yes. Lawyers. Terrytown sued us for 364 dollars (including fees). A deputy served me papers and everything. The case was dropped today based on a reply to the court that is basically what I've put down here. (Even though Pat's note on the bill was: Still leaking. Told them to put a pan under it.) All because they would rather intimidate their customers than give one iota of customer service. Avoid at all costs.

They were very responsive and even though it didn't take getting into either the attic or up on the roof itself, the fact they were willing to earns a gold star in my book (an 8:12 second story pitched roof is no joke). The person with whom I spoke understood how dangerous of a situation this was and a service person was scheduled that day. 2nd call was for electrical work--not urgent but they happened to be able to squeeze me in on the same day which was probably rare but amazing! Best parts of this experience: 1. Friendly and empathic front team who got me scheduled ASAP. 2. Text prior to the service person's arrival with their pic and some info to help personalize this 'stranger' 3. The service people themselves--extremely competent, focused, and very personable. The entire process took 3 hours and none of the dust came back into the house. Our house is 16 years old and according to Jean Paul this was the FIRST time the ducts were cleaned. (Joys of having kids!!!) my carpet looks brand new and it doesn't smell and it's dried! It didn't take all day, only about an hour or so. But I am really happy with the service! The track marks are gone from my kids coming in and out and never taking their shoes off!! We are a family of 6 and we have a cat! Just imagine the funk we track in or carry with us on a daily basis! They arrived around 2:30, left at 5:30, and carpets in my son's and my apartment at 10:15 pm are wet. Not damp. Wet. I called the Madison SS office midway through their cleaning and spoke with "Mike" to ask about the wet carpets and techs' failure to put any protection between the legs of wood furniture and wet carpet until I insisted, at least under the dining tables and living room furniture. Their and Mike's answer was "we don't always do that", and then Shane (and later, Mike) told me that third floor carpets are always wetter because they use a portable cleaner. I live on the first floor, Carpets in both apartments are equally wet. There's more but I'm getting ticked off all over again thinking about all this. I need a lot more of those foam leg squares than I was given (15 or so) at my insistence as the techs packed up to leave. My dining room chairs will be left in the hallway overnight. I even have a problem with how the bill was presented. Three residents in my complex were interested in seeing the results of this cleaning. They stopped by, felt the carpets, and I discouraged them from doing business with SS. I'm a prior customer for my own apartment and was happy with the results last time (different techs). Yes, as wet as they are, the carpets look good, now. Can't wait to see what I'll find when I walk around in clean socks over the next few days. I'm anticipating black, based on other reviews that talk about this same issue. Never again.
