Having been a student of dance for many years and as a patron and lover of dance, theatre and art, The Dance Element is head and shoulders above everything I've encountered short of Broadway in NY. Wilmington NC is lucky to have this gem. You can't imagine the care and thought that goes into every class, into the students well-being and into their showcase productions. The Dance Element owner is an extremely talented dancer in her own right with an amazing gift to help students learn to dance, have fun, master choreography and as a bonus build strong foundations to live confident lives. From a production/show point of view - I've had the pleasure of seeing productions from the audience's perspective and have been in awe of the beauty of how it all comes together. Recently, I've been able to see behind the scenes as the recent Christmas showcase "The Grinch" is coming to life. The set designs are spectacular, the artistry and creativity of the owner is nothing short of award winning. Her passion comes through every detail - she wants her students and their families to have the best experiences and she delivers on that promise. There's a tremendous amount of work that goes into developing a theme, creating the beautiful choreography, set designs that bring the story to life, lights, music and overall production but The Dance Element wouldn't do it any other way. This is not a cookie cutter dance studio. Hands down the best studio I've ever come across!

I'll preface this by saying my little girl really enjoyed her experience with Dance Express. I,…read morehowever, did not. She took hip hop / tumble. The classes were structured so she spent more time sitting on the floor than engaged in activity. I felt it was a lazy way to conduct the classes. Then there was the costume fiasco. Measurements were wrong, sizes didn't fit. I had to beg the company to get the costumes right. After being lied to repeatedly, they finally reordered the correct sizes from another company. The recital was darling, but I cannot recommend this dance studio.

The other Moms are amazing and the staff is just over the top wonderful. She is young...only in kindergarten. And she gets pushed to do her best. This is competition...you go to these to WIN and have fun but the goal is to win lol. The owner/director of the dance school has been super understanding about how much my child has been sick this year too. It's been quite worrisome as a Mom to see her so sick, but all the teachers st this studio have been really sweet and you can tell they have been really concerned. Recommend 10/10. They are becoming family and after this season is finished my girl is already excited about next year lol! Love you so much DEPAC.
