It was interesting expierence! I love how the drinks and food comes out from a bullet train. The food was good. We ordered some suchi and noodles bowl. The place is clean. They also have garage parking under ground. I would come back again if I'm in the area again.

This place used to be Sakana Sushi and Grill and now replaced by Point Sushi. Point Sushi is the Bullet Train Sushi in Calgary and Maybe in Western Canada. I like this unique way of serving sushi. I have been to Japan and I have seen sushi or food items sent to customers this way upon ordering through an Ipad. I came on a Monday night after work around 5:30 pm. The restaurant was very quiet. There were only 3 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Food prices are the same at any Japanese Restaurant in Calgary. I ordered six items: saki nigiri, negitoro cone, vegetables tempura, maguro, salmon r-yu (this is not a common nigiri sushi outside of Japan. The first time I had it was in Osaka) and scallop. The bill came up around to $31 with tip and tax. I wasn't really full. All the sushi was a-la-carte and it adds up very quick. There are no combo available. I wished they had the different soy sauce like in Japan. An example is the sweet soy- definitely wished they had that. The sushi were pretty legit. Everything I ordered were very tasty and fresh. The tempura batter was very different and was super light. I liked everything except the tempura. Service was ok. The only service I got human interaction was when they came up to clear the plate and when I got seated down. Everything was pretty much self serve. Grab your own chopsticks, napkins, sauce dish and plate from above the bullet train tracks shelve. I do like the fact that I can see what items that I have ordered on the Ipad and the cost of my meal. Price will eventually end up more because it is a la carte style. Definitely a cool gimmick. Note the train can only hold four items each time. This mean you can only send 4 items to the kitchen each time.

This is a cool place to check out for the experience. This is only place in Calgary (probably all of Alberta?) that serves Japanese food via a bullet train. You order from an iPad and the food arrives relatively fast from the train. I found that some food is worth the price and some weren't . The items ranged from $3 to $13. From the items I ordered: Worth the price: Shio Ramen, Rolls (although the filling was small compared to the portion of rice) , Salmon Sashimi, Carbonara Udon, Snail Nigiri(really flavourful and chewy), choux a la creme coffee (cream puff) Not worth the price: Scallop (so small and did not look like the picture at all), Hotate Special (had no flavour)..I would be wary of most of the sashimi In conclusion, come to the place for the experience! The food was just above average. My bill came to around $60 for two people.

Sushi via shinkansen in Chinatown, it's a fun experience to share with a group (especially with kids who like to order from the touchpad) altho food wait times took pretty long both times I've been here (so this won't work for people in a rush). The Shio Ramen is definitely worth it and I've found that the basic tuna nigiri or sashimi outdoes their other sushi items and rolls in terms of taste and quality, even compared to seared items. Their karaage pieces are huge, while their wings are just tiny. Free parking on weekends and limited to evenings on weekdays. Resos accepted.

Great to be back at Point Sushi with the family!

I love coming to this place. A hop, skip and a jump away from Dragon City Mall, you'll find Point Sushi - one of the things that makes this place so interesting is their set-up. When you're seated, you'll notice a tablet at the table where you can order what you like (including your drinks) and once you've pressed your 'order' button, it's only a matter of a few short minutes before a little bullet train zips up to your table with your order! The interior of the restaurant is clean and classy with a modern-Japanese design and atmosphere, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is great! They have a nice variety of things to order even if you're not big on sushi. The only slight criticism I have is that for some of their spicy sushi rolls, they're topped with siracha rather than say, spicy mayo or volcano sauce, but that's just a personal nitpick. All and all, this is a place I like to take my friends and family for a fun, chill afternoon out, or to celebrate whatever life throws our way. If you find yourself hungry while you're taking care of business downtown, make time to swing by - you won't be disappointed.

Cool concept for the bullet train arriving to your table! I came here for a date with my two best friends and we had such a fun time ordering everything we wanted from the iPad. We had to wait around 10 minutes for some water but it didn't really seem to bother us. Reasonable prices and good sushi. Staff were welcoming. I recommended this place for families and kids would have fun with the sushi arriving on a train!

Obviously the cool thing about this restaurant is the food being served on a train. You order through an iPad. There are servers to help you. The service was ok. The place is pretty big and clean unlike the exterior which looks a bit sketch. Convenient that they have their own parking in the basement. The food was ok. Lots of varieties. Sushi and rolls were ok. Udon was pretty good. Just general Japanese place. This place is NOT an all you can eat. The pace of the food coming out was slow as everything functioned though the train. If you're looking for a place to stuff yourself this is not the place.

What!? Bullet Train sushi!??? So I was familiar with the conveyor belt sushi and that's totally fun. But this is rad for other reasons. Walk in and get seated by a hostess at your booth. Order from an iPad Mini, color photos of your food options, helpfully divided into categories, all with clear (and very inexpensive prices) costs. Submit your order and it'll arrive on a mini-bullet train powered by magnets! Order, and repeat until you're full. We had 4-5 rolls (they are all like 3-5 pieces each). Miso, seaweed salad, sashimi, Japanese hot tea, the works! All ordered from our table on an iPad and delivered via mini-train! Our waters were refilled by a server once or twice, aside from that we were totally left on our own. Oh! They have gluten free soy sauce that you request from the iPad. This was a really fun concept and it made ordering and eating evything that much more unique and fun. We giggled and smiled each time it showed up, gasping as it whooshed to a stop, we snapped pics of it in motion and as it arrived. Just a really cool idea. The sushi itself was good, nothing world shattering, but enjoyable and fun. Simple, quick to make, and easy to eat. We loved it. All in all we paid just under $50 for more food than we needed.

More of a 3.5, but extra point for friendly service and being the first sushi train restaurant in Calgary. I thought Point Sushi was on point - for being a fun, interactive dining experience. I'd recommend Point Sushi for anyone with kids. There are some booths that fit 8 kids or six adults as well as a large table with a rotating loop for sushi (no train though). I plan to return with my nephew. I know he'll love seeing the train zoom his meal over. I tried a little bit of everything. Ramen, sushi rolls, chicken wings, gyoza and tempura. The shrimp tempura was all batter. My favourite was the ramen - for six bucks I got a bowl full of al dente ramen, half an egg, char siu and some bamboo shoots. My ramen was only $5.99. The deep-fried crab roll was good - still warm soft shell crab with avocado and black tobiko. The sushi rice isn't as seasoned as other Japanese restaurants, like Red Ember or Zipang. Prices range from $2-$12. Go for the novelty of the sushi bullet trains and you won't be disappointed.

Best sushi downtown that I have had. It is well priced and fast (which is what you want for a lunch downtown). We had a variety of rolls and specialty rolls - all were made well (held together) and were full of flavour. The restaurant is very bright with lots of seating. The staff there were very friendly and helpful with showing us how to order. Will definitely be coming back!

Really thick cuts of fish on the Nigiri we were served.

Sushi is delicious! Prices seem low but when you're self ordering and train is serving, it's a great saving for the quality of sushi!

I loved the novelty of the monorail delivery service but the big win is the quality of the food - no gimmicks, just delicious.

The sushi isn't top quality. However, it does come extremely fast, and is extremely inexpensive.
