They are absolute experts on gardening in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. I've been a loyal Glenmar customer for 8 years, and during that time have received from them the most sound and sage advice on amending soil, deterring pests, and ensuring success with recommended varieties of perennials, shrubs, and trees they sell. The most hardy and long-lived plants in my yard were purchased from Glenmar: healthy hostas, gorgeous and unique selections of false spiraea, and my favorite coreopsis which has endured and improved throughout 7 years. They've also helped me diagnose and resolve problems with spruce and cherry trees. The grounds of the nursery are beautiful and peaceful. They have a lovely selection of roses in the front, shrubs as you enter, trees around the perimeter, vines and perennials near the greenhouse, and shade perennials beneath a large tree. The greenhouse displays their annuals as well as their ponds, which are populated with numerous little frogs. Each year they offer a good variety of recently-introduced perennials, which I had previously only found on mail-order gardening websites. I've also purchased good quality landscaping materials, soil amendments, and all manner of gardening supplies here.

I had hoped to get some advice as to what colors and varieties would work in my planters. I am not good at this and always appreciate help. I have eight large planters to fill along with some flowers to plant in ground. When I approached a woman holding a hose, outside one of the greenhouse, I asked if she could assist me. She said "no,I must get these plants watered or they will die". I was some what shocked! I almost replied..."that's okay, I'll shop elsewhere", but I didn't as I did not want to be as rude as she had been. This was so unlike Mysters. maybe she was having a bad day...we all do, but you don't treat old customers, or new for that matter, like this! It was around 10:45 when we arrive and they were only open a short time. If you advertise your schedule as "open at 10", your flowers should be ready to go...not on the verge of dying due to lack of water. We walked the greenhouses and when we left, the hose was laying on the ground as the woman was no where to be found. Guess the flowers were no that dry. Very disappointed in Mysters. I have to give some thought if I will return.

The place is about two miles down the road on the lefthand side. This is a true diamond in the rough. It's not much to look at and the hours are limited, but if you have a hardscaping project be sure to come here. This place carries a large selection of pavers, concrete statuary, concrete planters and stones. They primarily carry overages from another location (where that is no idea), some items are seconds. What this means is two things: 1. If you see something you like buy it right there as it is unlikely you will see it again. and most importantly 2. The stuff is ridiculously cheap. We have been all over the Lehigh Valley looking for stepping stone pavers for a project. The cheapest ones we were able to find were $4-5 a piece. This place had pavers nearly twice the size that were only $2. Smaller pavers are $1 - a complete steal. My parents did a similar project last year and said the same exact pavers they bought for $1 were $5 at a big box store. The cheapest items are inside the inside fence, but everything is priced reasonably and it is unlikely that you will find anything that will break the bank unless it's absolutely huge. Note: I don't believe they take credit so bring cash! The woman who mans the place is quite a character and hangs out in an army type bunker on the property.

Behind the greenhouse, we had a delightful time listening to our instructors who clearly have worked side by side at the farm. Educational facts about herbs with a sprinkling of humor began the event. It is so wonderful to attend a class where they share their knowledge about the herbs and their uses. They give you salient advice that helps you decide on which herbs fit the taste profile you enjoy so you build your herb pot on what fits you. Then to top it all off they gave us a handout that covered trimming, drying and pairing herbs as well as a few recipes! A wonderful experience! Thank you for making my Mother's day extra special!

Unfortunately I could not be there for the delivery due to being at work, but I was skeptical of the amount immediately when I saw the pile. I should have called them right then, but I figured what could I really do? They would say that they delivered 10 yards and I would have no way to refute it. I actually laid the mulch thinner this year to make it last and it still didn't go near as far as other years when I laid it on thick. I received 8 yards at the most. Now I have to buy more so the lower price was not really worth it in the long run. Oh well. Lesson learned. Buyer beware.
