Paul ran my credit card before I even had the retainer agreement read or signed (he flipped over the page with his $350/hr rate very quickly) and left me to sign the agreement. He re-entered the room multiple times huffing and acting impatient that it wasn't signed immediately. I felt intimidated, frustrated, and completely taken advantage of. I should've trusted my gut and left instead of allowing him to take a full retainer. I fired Paul after 3 days, which he used $1,200 out of my $1,500 retainer to simply ADJOURN a court date for HIS OWN VACATION. I received a $310 refund for Paul to do absolutely nothing but disrespect and waste my time. He promised me that retainer would get me through "at least 3 months". Im thankful didn't have him represent me in the courtroom. I'll also note that communication is a joke, his "receptionist" just screams your requests across the hall without putting herself on mute while you sit awkwardly listening to them shout at eachother

I needed a new accountant after the woman who did my taxes for many years retired. Mr. Szarowicz…read moredid my father's estate taxes from 2006-2018 and so I turned to him, asking him how much it would cost for him to do my husband's and my income taxes. He said $200.00. In addition, I asked him to do the taxes for my mother's, as estate taxes are different. We supplied all of the necessary information and he completed the work. Then he presented the bills. I have no idea if the paperwork he had to do for my mother was more complicated (It should have been less so), but he presented a bill of $500.00, and that was after a supposed $100.00 "courtesy" discount. I was dumbfounded. He then presented a bill to me for my husband's and my taxes. It too was for $500.00, with the same "courtesy" discount. I said "You told me $200.00". He said; "It was more time consuming/complicated". I argued with him, but ended up paying the exorbitant overcharge. In addition to that, Mr. Szarowicz had charged $400.00 each year to calculate my father's estate taxes. Each year, from 2006-2018, he submitted a bill to me to authorize the payment. I asked about the bill for my father's taxes and was quite surprised to find out that not only had he already taken his fee directly out of the estate without asking me for authorization, but took an addition $350.00. He said this was because he had to make a trip downtown to close out the estate. $350.00 extra for a trip downtown, a total of $750.00 to close out this estate!!!! My other's estate lawyer told me it was not complicated to close out the estate.
