It's been almost 3 years since my last review and I can confirm that the service, food, and beer is still fantastic. We've had 2 book club meetings here along with many other pop ins and the overall verdict is that it is delicious. The Reuben pizza is what dreams are made of. All the food I've seen come out of the kitchen has been great looking and all parties have said that it's really good. I'm stuck on the pizza though. It's so good that I drive out just for it. The owners dogs are a great plus as well. They are so sweet and love saying hi. It's cute and cozy and it's one of my favorites in the area. read more

I'd been wanting to check out POG for a few years but just hadn't made it out there. I was recently in the area so I made a pit stop. It's by itself in the middle of nowhere but it's super peaceful. The brewery is good sized and has lots of seating and even an outdoor patio area. They have a full menu of food, lots of beer, and even cocktails and wine for non beer drinkers. Everyone we interacted with was super nice and friendly. We didn't order any food but I was definitely tempted. We stuck with beer. They lean more towards German styles and they are really well done. I ordered a cream ale-Lickey Chewy that features strong butterscotch flavors. This beer was my introduction to POG at a Brewfest a few years ago and it's definitely one to try. I also tried the Eisbock and the stout. All were really good. I'm going to make an effort to return. And I plan to try the food and maybe catch some live music. If you're in the area or just looking to go somewhere outside of the city, definitely check them out! read more

I ran out there on a Sunday Evening after having a bunch of friends that have been telling me about this place. It is a bit of a drive but is well worth it. The bar staff was super nice and helpful. Being it was a slow evening I sat a talked with her and her new husband, had good conversations and learned about the place. There is a cabin vibe with military background. They offer multiple options on beer flights. I tried three beers while I was each was full of flavor and very different from each other. I also got a bratwurst with fries while I was there. It was probably one of the best brats I have had in a while. Cooked to perfection. Had a nice crisp while still being juicy. The Flavor combinations worked very well together. I will definitely bring some friends back with me next time. read more

My friends and I had a great time here! They have nice selection of beer and food. I had a beer flight and enjoyed all of the ones I tried! I ordered the pretzel bites which were delicious but not as filling as I'd hoped. I ended up ordering more food later which was also really good. I like that there's so much land around the brewery and can't wait to go back when it's warmer so we can sit outside and enjoy the view! read more

I was looking for a new to me brewery to visit this past weekend and decided on POG Brewing. We got a flight of beers to share and the apricot cheese dip. The beers were all really solid! I saw on their website that the Lickey Chewy (butterscotch cream ale) received recognition in the Untappd Community Awards. If you are a beer drinker who's also a fan of butterscotch you cannot go wrong with the Lickey Chewy. The apricot cheese dip was very tasty and unique. Both the cheese dip and tortilla chips appeared to be homemade to me. Based on this appetizer, I'm sure the rest of the food is high quality and I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying more menu items. The interior has ample seating and was extremely clean. There's also an outdoor area where I believe there are events on occasion based on social media posts. The service was fast and friendly. POG is a bit out the way but definitely worth a visit! Even though we came to try the drinks and not the food. It was pretty solid place to try out while in the area. Personally I enjoyed the most Lickey Chewy with its identifiable toasted butterscotch flavors and my partner-in- crime enjoyed the Cannon Fodder the most since it was a smooth amber ale. The service was attentive and friendly without being too friendly where I couldn't enjoy the company or company of my seat-mate. The atmosphere was very chill allowing us to sit with our dogs on the patio and drink without feeling rushed or out of place for coming for a lunch time drink. read more

We heard great things about POG Brewing and decided to stop by. We were there on a Saturday between lunch and dinner and there was plenty of seating. Service was very quick and attentive. We ordered a flight and I enjoyed each of the beers that we tried. Lickey Chewy has a butterscotch flavor and for Harry Potter fans out there, it reminded me of an alcoholic butter beer. Blinker Fluid was a very good Dunkel that I would definitely drink again. My favorite beer was the fruit salad. I left with a Growler of fruit salad as I felt this was a great summer/spring beer. We also had the apricot cheese dip with our flight. I love cheese dips and will add this to one of my new favorites. The chips that it came with were light and crunchy. WOW! We decided to come here randomly after picking blueberries nearby and we were so impressed. We had a fairly large party & the service was amazing. Every single food item we tried was spectacular. We ended up passing all our plates around the table to try. The beers were delish too, so many options! I'm over IPA's, there I've said it. Controversial maybe but no one was more surprised than me that I love the rich dark stouts, porter, or creamy ales. This place is just so good that I'm not even mad about the no signal to check in. For those who do like an IPA they have'em, what can say, it's just a balanced tap menu. The Lickey Chewy cream ale is stupid good, butterscotchy, and all smooth. High &Tight porter was a perfect confusion. Radler is the real deal. I guess I just wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. Lesson learned do not judge a watering hole by the gas station or the vast surrounding plains of Kansas around it. Food, creative, delicious bar food and I'd like to think I've got a good feel for what a dish might be like. This was just better and it made me so happy. My only regret was I took no pictures of the food, and that's not like me at all but I was in the best moment. Inside was basic and comfortable. Staff were normal, kind, and had all this unpretentious knowledge on beer. Outside had a patio and activities that you would see if tailgating, and a fire ring. read more

What a fun new spot! We came today to get out of the house during the pandemic and ended up getting a flight of great beer in a quiet, friendly, new brewery. We got a flight of 4 beers, a Kolsch Style, Porter, Brown Ale, and a cream ale. Per usual the porter was by far my favorite, but the cream ale with very clear hints of butterscotch was surprisingly awesome! Give this place a go. Their food also looks awesome and is all German, we didn't try it this time but we will be back. read more

Greeted by Sam's big smile and "what are you drinking?" Actually drank a lot and all different levels of deliciousness. I could find a reason to drink any of them. I think my favorite in this hot day was the "fruit salad" - think shandy with strawberry and rhubarb notes. My companions favorite was "pogey bait" which is light and crisp. For a real tongue twirler, try the Lickey Chewy which is definitely butterscotch forward. Veteran owned! Didn't try the food but will next time as the menu is really fun/funky/eclectic. read more

Friends who had been here before brought us here. They assured us it was worth the the drive. They were absolutely right. I like darker beers so I had a flight of dark beers. I enjoyed all of them and sampled the lighter beers my wife had and while not my style they were still really good. We shared several of the dishes and it was all good but you must get the apricot cheese dip. Sounds weird but oh so good and the chips that come with it are great even by themselves. Loaded fries are great and yes get extra gravy. The brat is very good too. We shared the eclair and a hand pie at the end. The eclair is good but the hand pie was really good with the ice cream. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Right amount of engaging with us and telling us about the place and then leaving us alone. Will definitely be back and we'll worth the drive from KC metro area. read more

My wife, dog, and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to POG Brewing Co. The ambiance was what you'd expect from a brewery in the country--easy going, slow paced, and charming thanks to the proprietors & server. They're extremely dog friendly. We tried five different beers and were blown away by the cream ale, Lickey Chewy. It's well balanced, not too sweet, and has a fantastic butterscotch touch to it. The porter, High & Tight, was our 2nd favorite. We enjoyed the food--wings (dry, akin to fried chicken and good), a bratwurst, the loaded fries (yum!), and an eclair cake (like the French pastry) were all delicious. We had to snag a howler of the Lickey Chewy to go...it's worth the drive from the KC metro alone. Props to POG! read more

Amazing wings and even more amazing beer. A must try beer is the high & tight. I would recommend to stay away from bug juice beer not my favorite, but to each his own. Amazing and welcoming staff from the owner to staff really knowledgeable of all the appetizers that are offered as well as the beer. Have gone to Pog Brewery in Cleveland, MO twice now and have been great both times. The beer is GREAT!!! For a big pour of great beer is only $5. Get the flight of 8 beers and its only $10!!! The Licky Chewy beer is one of my favorites. They have a small menu of impressive food.. First time had the schnitzel fingers and they were great with the gravy. Got them again the second time and the wife got the Korean tacos. The tacos were outstanding!!! read more

What a wonderful venue with great beers! Lots of seating inside and out. Attentive, friendly serving staff. My friends ordered food and said it was terrific.
