The cruise narrator knew tons of intricate details about the history and places we passed, especially about Cumberland Island. He explained the history of the horses on the island: their origin, breeding and band habits. He gave lots of detail about the Carnegie's and the incredible mansions on the island. He also answered lots of questions from the cruise participants. He was engaging making jokes and quips throughout the cruise. Clearly he has not just done this many times, but has studied and visited the area's history.

Captain Bill is fun, experienced and knowledgeable about the waterways we traveled. We saw lots of wildlife, learned about boat safety and got to go really fast (my favorite part). They have day trips then some evenings (maybe just weekends) they have an adults only "rum-runner" cruise...BYOB. We took that one! The ship is a replica of the Flying Dutchman and they just started giving cruises and will stay here in Fern. Beach (not a visiting ship). They are working out the bumps of a new adventure.... like music needed to be louder, the pirate speaker on the history of area needed a Mike so he could be heard. The ship's suppose to have 18 cannons but they had one cannon. My husband said the seats weren't right....they were too short to sit on. The three pirates and captain were all very personable and I hope this endeavor becomes very successful.

Connie did a great job telling us about the history of Amelia Island. The trolley has an excellent…read moresound system so you hear everything she says. The trolley is also air conditioned which is great when the feel like temperature rises well over 100. The tour started at 1230 and lasted around an hour and a half. This was our first time to Fernandina Beach so it was a great way to see where everything is and to learn things some locals are even unaware of. The tour goes through the Historic District and we were told what was originally there and which things are still there like the Palace Saloon. The Palace Saloon is the oldest continously running bar in the state of Florida. The current mayor is also a part time bartender there. We also discovered many historic homes and learned the stores behind them. One house we went past was built over 100 years ago after it was ordered from the Sears Catalog for $1,000.-. Another highlight was 3 identical houses inside and out built by a guy for his 3 daughters. There are way too many highlights to mention. The cost of the trip for my wife, three kids and myself was only $70. We more than got our money's worth. We were also allowed to bring our 4 month old puppy with us on the trolley. Connie asked the other guests if it was okay to bring her and they said it was ok. So they are pet friendly as long as the other guests are too. Great tour!
