This is one of the best beaches for watching sunrises. I have come to this beach twice now, and I'm in awe of the breathtaking views of the sunrise. It is known locally as the shark tooth beach because locals find quite a few here. My family and I found just 1 after a weekend of looking, but got a lot of shells I will be using for art. Memorial benches are set for visitors to sit and watch the sea as well as sunrises. read more

The beach is wide and sandy. The first time we came to check it out, we'd come back from dinner and we stopped at one of the small beach access areas. There's small parking areas and you can walk between the houses up and over the dunes to the beach and water. Think that's great that you don't always have to go to one of the main beaches to enjoy the experience... and the night we went -- the cool breezes coming off the ocean. read more

First stop the beach. Wide flat spaces give plenty of room for strolls, runs, or bike rides. Stop along the way at the beachfront hangout to dine in ocean breezes. Plenty of choices on the beach side or across the street, or grab a hotel/house within walking distance of the sand. Next let's head downtown where the lighted trees illuminate your search for the perfect little beachside dining experience. You'll have many choices from burgers to Cuban and of course seafood or "American". When you're full, stroll further to find some ice cream or just head back to the beach for some night views. Get up early to enjoy the sunrise, and get ready to do it all again. Time will begin to flow together with the waves and sun as you lose yourself in Fernandina. Such a wonderful beach! This beach is definitely a hidden gem in Florida and very close to the Georgia border (6hr drive from ATL). The water is nice Semi-clear and there are plenty of nice seashells to collect Along the way. you can even drive you car onto the beach (with 4 wheel drive) which is so convenient. read more

Fernandina Beach is a beautiful beach with calm waves and natural dunes. located in Nassau County, Florida, on Amelia Island. There is an interesting history that one can discover while on Amelia Island such as the Spanish presence during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. We were fortunate to have a balcony view of Fernandina Beach from our hotel to enjoy sunrise and the evening sounds of the beach. read more

The best I can go for the town and for beach part of Fernandina Beach is a simple OK, three stars. Neither the town nor the main beach are very impressive. The Main Beach itself is quiet to the point of being plane straight out boing. Yes, the water is nice. The sand is nice too, but that is pretty much common to all of the beaches of Florida and this beach has nothing to set it apart. There are showers, toilet facilities and a little children's playground, but other than free parking, nothing and with nothing nearby of any noteworthy attraction. Likewise the town of Fernandina Beach doesn't amount to much. None of the restaurants have anything that would distinguish them or mark them as special. However, the all do serve up really fresh tasty seafood. For camping, however, I've found Fernandina Beach's Fort Clinch to really be super with its charm of live oak and hanging air moss. read more

I absolutely love Fernandina Beach. The beach is very clean and the water is clear. What I really love about this beach is it has never been crowded (at least not when we've been here). We've always had a whole lot of space all to ourselves. There's free parking in different areas and it's a short walk down to the beach. Make sure you do wear flip-flops because the sand does get very hot! Great beach to come to if you're looking for a more peaceful experience or romantic experience. I also love to come here when I'm doing beach photo shoots because I can get great shots without people being in the background. I just recently did my daughter's maternity photos here. This is also a good beach to find shells. I mean, there's not like a plethora of them or anything, but I've more whole shells here than I at any of our other beaches. read more

It can either be considered the first beach or the last beach in Florida depending on how you see it but rest assured that it's worth a visit. A smaller beach town lined with a charming downtown district overlooks this quaint beach. Florida really outdid itself with this beach as it's favorited by people all throughout the world. It's located on the northern tip of Amelia Island and overlooks Georgia as it borders their southernmost state park. Locals and tourists come here for fishing, surfing, and overall relaxation which is apparent during your first glimpse at this slice of paradise. This is as cold as Florida can get so if you're coming to catch a few waves, don't leave your wetsuit behind during the cooler months. If you are up north or west and tired of the snow and retrace and thinking of moving your family to Fernandina Beach, do all a favor and do as Nancy Regan told you. Just say NO. We come here once or twice a year to visit family from out of town. The beach is absolutely beautiful no matter the time of year. Seashells line the beach for miles. There are not typically a lot of people out around February, so it's more peaceful. read more

Seriously this is the absolutely best beach in the area! The landscape has definitely changed since Hurricane Matthew whipped through its shores, but fortunately the beach still looks beautiful. We take our dogs here every weekend, it provides such an open and clean space for them to run, chase sticks and catch the waves when its warm. Even though the beach is dog friendly, I have never ran into dog poop or garbage in general. This is one of the cleanest beaches in the Jacksonville area. read more

You cans park on the beach which is okay in this case because parking is pretty close although it is a little bit of a walk... The nearest town from the Omni amelia, it has a quaint small town feeling with stores mostly one levelled and the beach not too far away. There are shops and restaurants along the 3 block radius of the town. There are also river tours which was interesting and you get to learn the history of the island. I love this beach! They've quite a bit of parking around the area! There's a few restaurants within walking distances. I believe a few condominiums and hotels nearby as well. The beach's sand was soft and warm! Parts of the beach had broken up sea shells but aside from that it was beautiful!! They've got showers for you to wash off and restrooms nearby. They sometimes have local festivals and lots of parks nearby to get out too! read more

If I am going to a beach in the NEFL area it is Fernandina Beach. The beaches are ALWAYS clean and never really that busy. We had stopped by the beach near Sliders during the 4th of July and there were quite a few people out there, however, it was mostly families and well-behaved beach goers. Nice beach! We live in Georgia so this is the beach that we will drive to for the nicer water (in comparison to where we live...). If you enter the beach by the restaurant "Sliders," you can drive on the beach if you have 4 wheel drive. Seriously do not try this if you only have two wheel drive! We saw many cars get stuck quickly. The beach here is dog friendly on a 6 foot leash. I had a hard time finding out for sure if it was ok to bring Fido or not on the Internet, so we left her at home. There were a few dogs on the beach and beach patrol was right there so trust me ;) no alcohol is permitted but I'm sure if you're not a moron about it, you're good. We've been here a couple times and I'm sure we will be back! read more

I enjoy Fernandina Beach for it's peacefulness. I have gone surfing here many times. Mostly bye myself with no one to fight for waves with. The beaches are clean from most trash left behind by people who can't respect the beaches. read more
