My boyfriend and I went to the Lantern Festival at the Pocono Raceway sometime in September 2024. I think it was pretty well organized. We waited in line of cars for about a mile or so, then we were directed to split into two lines. One that entered one side of the parking lot and another that entered the other. After we parked there was a short walk to the field. We checked in, received out lanterns and bought a plushy and a marshmallow making kit. There were lots of food trucks to choose something to eat/ drink. Even though we enjoyed being by ourselves - next year we will come out with a bunch of friends. There was live music that was pretty ok. When it got really dark, everyone released their lanterns. It was a pretty magical experience. read more

When we visited here they were trying to get the track ready for some racing. It had rained a bit so they were letting visitors on to the track with their private vehicles to try and dry it. Not to sure the rental company would have approved but I got the town car up to some pretty good speeds. You could stay out as long as you wanted to but had to keep up a good pace. The track is huge with only 3 corners. You will see in one of my pics the words turn 4 with a question mark. We did shot 8-10 laps and tht was good. Y we couldn't get into the main seating areas as they had it closed because of the race and you needed a ticket. We went in the back way thru the pit entrance. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Took the mystery kids to their first ever NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. We got a little confused at first on the parking didn't realize we were at the wrong gate, no biggie. Once we had that straightened out it was flawless. This was a surprise for the kids, my son wants to be a race car driver. So what better than to surprise him with a trip to the Raceway and watch NASCAR? We went to the Saturday event for the NASCAR Xfinity cup series. There was so much to do, hadn't even realized! A lot different than my home raceway/speedway. Went there for some Nascar. Parking is on grass so beware which car you bring there. There are a lot of seats along the racetrack, and they set up vendors behind so good food and drink options. Getting in there was a lot of traffic, but leaving was easy. Cool event to see. read more

Been to Pocono NASCAR race about 6 times. Parking, restrooms, and organization is usually very good - and why we come back. This year it's terrible. We got parked away from the track when the parking was not full, there were no port-a-lets in any of the parking areas (people relieving themselves in public), the few that were available had lines more than 60 people long. No trash cans anywhere -- just a mess. The rain delay and lighting was a factor, but they seemed unprepared this year for the race or fans. Really disappointed in Pocono. read more

Such a fun experience here! Great location for a sky lantern festival. The event was successful, so many portable toilets to use. Food stalls, concert, and mini s'mores kit with fire pit included. Big wide area to park. I was volunteering for the night lights team. Everyone did wonderful! So many family and friends that came in. read more

Came here for the lantern festival recently. Although the line for parking was long down the street, it was very organized. The lantern festival was held behind the actual raceway on a open field. The organization checking in was a little confusing. After a very long mob line to check in, there was confusion of where to go. Overhearing others we went to the big white tent to pick up our supplies. They also were not clear how to get the fire pits that everyone had. We luckily sat with a very nice family that shared their fire out with us. After having smores from the lantern kit, we set off the lanterns. There was a bit of difficultly getting them up due to the wind, but we had some assistance and were able to get at least 50% of our lanterns got up. Overall the event was a sight to definitely see. Next time we will be prepared. read more

Absolutely Disgusted Staff/Security just wanders around vaping and smoking with no care about other people around them. specifically this short security guy who was overcompensating with his wacky state trooper mustache, he wandered around and vaped and kept just blowing his nasty blue raspberry flavored air around which blew into mine and others faces including kids. The rest of the staff (not the vendors) were absolutely rude and just treated everyone but the VIP pass people with just horrible attitudes. Pocono Raceway is a great track for racing... Being my first time coming hear in 2017 always went to Dover... I like the track.. But Pocono needs to do something about the in and out of the race track so many times... They don't like u leaving the track to go to the parking lot. Being diffrent then Dover. When u go in to the merchandise gate you have to get ur ticket scanned at Pocono. Other then that... I found this to be one of my favorite tracks. The fans are some of the most friendliest people you could actually ever meet... They all come with grills, brings the family along for a fun fill day.... Traffic getting out is a nightmare. Leave with 25 Laps to go in the race if you don't want to be stuck in traffic for a hour... And there is no shortage of bathrooms.. They have bathrooms from one to the track all the way down to the other end.. And also. If it rained the night before or the morning of the race. Bring some boots, because expect to park in some muddy grass, they don't have much blacktop here to park on. Can't wait to come back for more racing in the future..... It's a kid friendly track... With alot fun activities for the kids to do. Bounce houses, coloring, face painting.. Etc, all free!!! read more

The 2023 Air Show was great; we loved it. The few vendors selling food had very long lines, and it took us 1 1/2 hours to exit the parking lot (which is grass). It took longer to exit the parking lot than to drive home. The attendants directing traffic talked among themselves and ignored the mess: one hour and thirty minutes to exit the parking lot. read more

Nascar track close to NY. This is the shit during racing season- NASCAR in the Pocono's. If you've never attended a race rest assured that it is much more than a redneck gathering. This track is great overall and a great place to watch a race - the biggest drawbacks are that there are not enough hotels in the area during the season and the roads to get to it are perpetually clogged with cars - the roads are single lane all the way to the gates- terrible. read more

I'm only giving this 3 stars because of the 3pm start time. The new sponsor Monster Energy has truly put excitement back into the series. The track itself will benefit once they widen the road leading in and out that was promised a couple years ago. This year they had a beer garden with craft brews from NJ and PA. The $10 cover was a great price for trying around 20 different beers. I'm so happy that Pocono did this as they are in a great market for this. The good news for is they have plenty of bathrooms and there is hardly ever a line. (Wish more tracks took this into consideration). The food was solid for a track. We ordered pulled pork and it wasn't greasy and had more of a liquid smoke taste than and actual smoked taste. The crowd was sparse and would have been better if they stuck to a 1pm start time. As I walked through the parking area everyone I talked to said it was ridiculous to start a race so late. I saw a lot of people leaving really early saying "I have to go to work tomorrow so I'll listen to the last half on my way home." The fan fair is a good way to spend 30 minutes and is in no way comparable to other tracks other than Dover which was just a waste of time and had nothing to offer. All in all it is a very family friendly place and you will have to sit in your car for awhile to leave but they have gotten wayyyyyy better about it than a few years ago where it took 2 hours to get out of the track. read more

I have been to NASCAR and IndyCar races at Auto Club, IMS, TMS, Richmond, Daytona, and Phoenix. Pocono reminds me of Williams Grove. If you haven't heard of Williams Grove--it's a dirt track near Mechanicsburg where the PA Posse periodically takes on the Outlaws. Pocono is outdated and not nearly up to the standards of the pinnacles of American motorsports. The stands are too low, the sightlines suck, the facilities are outdated. It is exactly like Williams Grove--Williams Grove is great for a $35 ticket to see some sprint cars. I absolutely cannot believe Pocono is charging the prices they do, for the facilities, experience, and sightlines they offer. I've never said I won't go back to a track, but this is the first time. Pocono is stuck in about 1996 and they need to modernize. read more

Always wanted to see a Nascar Race...(love Jimmy Johnson) well I did not see a race, yet....but I made it to the race track. It is bigger than I thought and it is hard to find. It is tucked away behind windy back roads with no signs at all. But, once you see the red, white and blue flags flying, you know you have arrived. I have to get to a race so that I can cross that off my bucket list...but, for now a visit to the track will have to do. read more

I have been to several tracks across the country and this has the worst seating. The seats sit so low to the track and there is so much stuff in the infield that you can't see anything except the front stretch. Yes, it is a long track but so is Talledaga and the seating is much better there. The race was ok but not being able to see made it less interesting. The big screens are in turns 3 and 1 so if you are in the center of the front stretch you can't see. The seats were nice if you were in the upper rows because the backs were higher. In the lower rows the seat back was very short and seats uncomfortable. I have sat on more comfortable bleachers. They had some go-karts and other things for the kids which was nice. I doubt I will ever make the drive here again. read more

There's more to Pocono Raceway than just the NASCAR and ARCO races. All year long (spring through fall) the track is rented out to regional car clubs for practices. So on any given day you'll find 20 or 30 Porsches, or Miatas, or in open clubs even beat up Kia's racing around the infield road courses. Yes, infield road courses - they've created 3 separate sub-tracks through the infield that are twisty-turvey, as well as include parts of the straight-aways for high-speed fun. If you go on a day when one of the clubs has the track rented, you can watch from the free viewing stand near the ticket office a little ways down from the main tunnel entrance. There are also two driving schools that use the track, including one (Stockcar Racing Experience) where you drive a real NASCAR car (albeit one that is a few years old). It's a pricey way to spend an afternoon, but you can drive all-out on a racetrack without worrying about damaging your own car. I've heard that giving a guy a gift certificate for this kind of thing is a great birthday gift (hint, hint dear...) read more

First, let me say if you have not been to Pocono in a while you need to go back. It is a much better racing venue than before. (we used to call it Poke-OH NO) The staff was much better informed than in the past. They were very helpful and friendlier. Everyone smiled and said "Enjoy the race" which we did!! I have been to Daytona, Dover, New Hampshire and Homestead multiple times and Charlotte and Bristol once each. Pocono used to be my least favorite track. But because it's closest to my home I went back after several years absence. So glad I did. We were in Section 314 which has bathrooms and food & drinks just a few short steps away. No need to miss any of the race in the 300 level. It is also shaded from the sun. These tickets also included pit passes. Definitely worth the extra price. We purchased our tickets back in June and started receiving emails from Kayla Houser with all types of helpful hints and info regarding experience enhancements. We even got a weather update a few days before the race. Kudos to Kayla and all the staff there. Pocono now has a new, improved policy regarding enter/exit. Traffic is handled better, but could still stand improvement. Food and drink concessions were good quality and reasonably priced for a racing venue. They have plenty of bathrooms which were clean and virtually no lines. In summary I will now say POKE-OH YEAH!! read more

I have been to more racetracks than I can count around America. But Pocono is the FIRST I ever went to. While back in the day it had lousy wood seats and out dated rest rooms. It is no longer the Pocono of Old. New track President Brandon has made amazing improvements over the last 18 months. From seat backs to a Solar farm. This is not your grandfathers Pocono Raceway. The only thing I wish would change is a return of IndyCars to the 2.5 mile triangle. The place was built FOR IndyCars not NASCAR 40 years ago. And considering it's first ever winner was Mark Donohue on the 2.5 mile layout, I would say it has a RICH heritage un-matched by all but Indy itself! Also Pocono is by far one of the more reasonably priced tracks NASCAR visits. I have become so tired of NASCAR of late, but I watch three weekends. Daytona 500, and both Pocono weekends! read more

Well, it was fun. For $250 you get one Car and 4 laps. However, first lap is to "show the lay of the track".... then went about 75 Mph driver being directed by co pilot, then your 4 th lap.. as your getting to actually drive, it's a cool down the Car lap..he had fun. read more

We arrived on Thursday the site was so tiny we couldn't use our bump out or awning. There was NO ONE track side to help we were forced to go off site back to ticket booth check in and re wait to finally change sites. Our new site gave us the neighbors from hell 6 guys 2 woman on of which they had just picked up that night, screaming throwing beer can and urinating inside of their camper! Call security X2 for help with the 3am parties and got no help, no one showed up at ALL! I was very disappointed this trip and will probably not go back if this mismanaged. We went to the June 2016 nascar race weekend and had a great time. We camped in the infield along the long pond straight away. In a 27 foot travel trailer. All Pocono staff members and security that we talked to were helpful and polite. Even know it rained most of the weekend . We still had a great time. The infield block party on Saturday night was a blast. Then the fireworks that same night were spectacular. We really enjoyed the whole weekend of racing ,camping and hanging out with friends. read more

coming from rockland county, ny, finding this spot on my navigation with the provided address was a nightmare and my poor mom was freaking out. after the said address, and nothing being there, the road goes on for miles in blank farm fields and the navigation in the car goes white. I followed my senses and just didn't turn back. the worst thing for a fellow traveler is that there are no places to ask for directions and you are in the middle of nowhere waiting to be abducted by a ufo. I came here for the lantern festival on 9.10.17. the entire venue would have been so great if they had multiple stages of performances and much more vendors, games. I arrived at seven pm, I have no idea what people do here for entertainment when they come here at three pm when it begins. I felt like I was in lake tahoe and everyone was matching in hip chic lumberjack clothing which was adorable. everyone picked up after themselves, shared bonfires. no arguments. that it was civil with thousands of people, that was astonishing. surprisingly no one was hammered. I didn't see a single person wobbling about. they also gave out fresh rolls of Scotts toilet paper rolls LOL that was a first and thank you for at least one amenity. the portable potties are a heart attack waiting to happen. they should have just charged $30 admission with free parking. the ticket was seventy something each and ten for parking. yeah, it was too much. people should be able to enjoy themselves and a lot missed out because of the outrages fee. they should have given you free vouchers for food as well, what little they had and how far spanned from the centre of the field they were. they made over one million in the span of two days; I'd expect so much more. the actual letting go of the lanterns was magical and supernatural, I'd just love this intimate and exciting ordeal at a more organized, professional venue that has something to offer besides sitting on your ass. I recall the man on the mic telling us to give us a round of applause for the people that put the event together. all I could think was, "how about an applause for all the customers that overpaid for this?". read more

Race was good. The infrastructure is amazingly awful. Three ATMs to service every cash only stand. One of them wasn't even getting any signal so it was down most of the time. Then it was time to leave. 2.5 hours to move 80 yards. That is no exaggeration. Two in a half hours. I don't know how you can possibly be in operation this long and not have your shit together. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a sporting event. I will never come back to this raceway. It's a shame they can't figure this out here. read more

Okay, as with any of the raceways on the circuit, everything is overpriced and that's expected. With that said, this is a great track. Three different length straightaways, three different banked and degreed turns make this a challenging course. Our seats were comfortable: Plastic bucket seats. From there, we could actually see then entire track. Entering, parking, and exiting were relatively easy. Much better than Indy. The sound system was a bit sporadic and the viewing screens were few and far between and small. Still, it's a nice venue set in among the mountains and trees of the Poconos. read more

Don't buy tickets in advance because if it rains they WILL keep your money and leave you with nothing if you can't make it to the make up date of their choosing. I was robbed of $130 by this track because they re-scheduled during the week while everyone is working. It's unfortunate when an organization this big is so greedy they can't find a way for their customers to get something out of what they paid for when something like rain that is out of everyone's control prevents them from getting what they paid for. The "Tricky Triangle" is in fact very tricky, they'll trick you right out of you're money by charging you admission to stand in their track, buy their over priced food, over priced merchandise, stay at their over priced campground, and then send you home with empty pockets feeling like a fool. read more

I hadn't been here since august 1976 ( when stock car racing were STOCK cars ) so in 2015, the best place to watch is the infield. Back in 76 you could stand by the pit crews but no more. Closest you can get is the garage area or pay to interact with drivers. Nascar has seen how a few can mess things up for the good fans & loosing those simple things in my opinion makes the entire race day experience rather lacking. They need to go back to the old ways before few come out & sponsors will be forced to buy tv time versus sponsoring the teams. Nascar should have their own channel just like EVERYOTHER SPORT DOES. read more

StockCar Racing Experience at the Pocono Raceway. My wife booked a ride along experience for both of us which we looked forward to excitedly. We arrived on Sat Aug 3rd at about 1 pm for our 1:30 appointment. The issue was that we paid for a 3 lap ride along experience for each of us meaning that you get to complete 3 full laps but my wife only got two laps. My wife was in front in car number 8 and my driver lined up behind her. We started out at the same time and my driver followed her for 2 laps and at the end of the second lap my wife's driver pulled into the pits and did not do the third lap. My driver passed her and completed the last lap. After we had left the track, I asked my wife why she only did two laps. She said she was very disappointed but when she asked the driver he explained, the first turn counts as a lap. I called to complain and spoke with the general manager, Steven. He didn't believe me and said that this simply does not happen. I told the manager that this may sound unusual, but this is in fact what happened and that my friends who had come to take pictures could verify my story a well as show pictures of her car pulling into the pits before mine. I also asked the manager to question his drivers because the driver might remember it since my wife had made an issue of. Steven, the manager said he had seven drivers that day and would not question them even though I gave him the time and car number. He also suggested that we didn't know now to count laps. At the end of the conversation he said he would not refund any part of what we paid (I had asked him for 1/3 of one of the rides refunded). He did offer us the employee discount of 25% off a future ride which made no sense for us since we had driven 2.5 hours just to get there the first time. The ride itself was fun if you've not been in a stock car before but I'll let you decide if it's worth the money at about $139 for 3 laps. read more
