PNC Bank was terrible customer service. As the POA for my 92 year old mother, I often need to check her accounts to make sure her bills are being paid. Because she gets confused easily, she often makes mistakes with her passwords to access her online banking. In my attempts to contact customer service, it takes hours and constant texting of security codes to her little flip phone, and question after question just to attempt to rectify her issues. Their system for security is inept, as are the Frontline customer service reps. I constantly have to ask to speak to managers to get these issues addressed. It seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. We have been having issues with her accounts for months, and one of the service reps actually paid a $299.00 bill to a scammer! I am at my wits end with this bank, their solution for changing passwords is to send a letter in the mail to her address with a temporary code, taking somewhere around 5 days, and then the codes don't work. I am only thankful that my personal accounts are with a competitor and I never have these issues. They've locked her accounts, and paid things from the wrong account, causing her to be past due on utility payments and having her autopay privileges suspended. PNC Bank is making it very difficult to assist my mother in maintaining her independence. They are not helpful when we call them, and are causing my mother to experience stress that she does not need. Terrible bank with atrocious customer service and systems. What a shady bank. My mortgage was recently acquired by PNC. I got a notice stating that I will need to pay my current mortgage even during the acquisition. The notice said that we don't have to worry, as part of the acquisition, PNC will import all the autopays. I checked online and saw that PNC did not import it over and the website stated that "NO AUTOPAY SETUP". I added my bank account and hope I wouldn't get dinged with any penalties. Come November, I check my statement and PNC withdrew my mortgage TWICE, causing me to get overdraft fees from BoA. I called PNC rep and they said, it's nothing they can do. They kept trying to deflect the situation saying "there's two autodraft lines setup, but you can only see one... and that's not our fault. You can try and ask BoA to refund you fees". Now I fixed everything, I checked my PNC statement again. It turns out the extra mortgage that they deducted was not applied to principal, but they took it as another future payment. The system is setup so you cannot pay down your mortgage! This is so shady and unheard of with other banks. I tried putting in some extra money this month and it won't let me apply any additional payments until Jan 2023. wtf. read more

I was in the area and needed to make a deposit and this was the nearest PNC branch. There where only 2 tellers and there was a lie and it was moving very slow. Finally the gentleman who was welcoming the customers at the door came behind the counter to help. The line moved a lot faster. The teller I got was very pleasant and very helpful. I like PNC bank over all this was not the best branch, But it was ok. I would try not to go to this one again unless I was in the area and had to. I would have to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just had a busy day and could not handle the traffic all at once. read more

Went to have something notarized for a school and they were looking for any excuse to get out of having to do it. They said both people signing would have to bank with them not just one. The people working for them at this branch is not a good representation of the company! And I will never bank with them. Also, if you call the 1800 number you will wait on hold and then they will randomly hang up on you. Worst bank ever. read more

The pnc customer service line and the listed services for this branch include 'instantly receive a lost debit card'. When I walk into the branch there are two managers just standing in the lobby staring into the distance. Another employee they identified as the intern was near asleep in one of the offices. When I ask them for the 'instant' debit card replacement they said I needed an appointment. I asked if they could do it as they were just standing there and they said no because I need an appointment. So I walked down the street to the branch in the first avenue place building and they can't be more helpful. Bring over that staff to your fifth avenue location to show them how it's done. read more

I won't comment on the company, itself (which seems to be where most of the reviews for this branch have digressed), but this branch is definitely my favorite one in town. Working downtown, it's convenient, and the staff has always been really pleasant and helpful! It's a more modern branch, as well, and I just found out today that you can actually do foreign currency exchange at this location! Someone mentioned that this branch can exchange 5 types of currency, but I've only done dollar to euro (they don't take coins, if you're going from euro to dollar, though). Pretty cool. Otherwise, the lines move pretty quickly and the layout is nice, open, and easy to navigate. If you're a PNC customer downtown, I highly recommend this branch! read more

CUSTOMER WARNING!!! Buyer/lender BE AWARE!!! You will waste hours and hours of your time if you get sucked in the black hole of customer service at PNC. This place is horrible, worst customer service ever! Under no circumstances should you ever work with these people, I wouldn't let them cash a refund check from Best Buy that would expire tomorrow. Do not do business here! They will lend you money but they will never actually help you. I'm in Hawaii and I had to work with this bank because one of our shared clients had got a loan from them on a vehicle that the customer later paid off but never got a clean title from PNC. The client traded their vehicle in and after months and I do mean months (from sept - jan) and multiple attempts from my sales staff, finance manager, sales manager, myself and the client still nothing just the run around. I am not joking when I say after 15-20 calls we have literally got nowhere. The phone operators are either really nice and get nothing accomplished or they hang up on you. It is literally the worst treatment from any business towards a client I've ever seen. My last phone call today, after 2 other calls lasting over 3 hours resulted in nothing more than them telling me they can't help me without my client telling them that she agrees to allows PNC to release the lien release to my dealership, well I actually call my client who is a doctor and she was actually working in the hospital but she was still kind enough to step away from her busy day to try and help. So as myself the customer and PNC are all on the phone finally getting all this done the operator tells us, ok guys... just a few minute hold and we will all be done. Me and my client are like "GREAT! No problem" so they put us on hold for about 30-45secs and then click they hang up! Unbelievable! Never have I ever dealt with such nonesense! So now I am back on hold with the "escalation" manager. I have little to no expectation of a resolution since there level of incompetence is not measurable. After finally talking to the escalation manager I had a gleamor of hope that finally I had someone who would help me...... butt..... you guessed it more nonsense. I can go on and on but I will just end with saying that after dealing with these folks I'm considering creating a petition for Yelp to come up with a negative scale and if that is not possible then fine. DO NOT do business with this bank! It doesn't care about your well being. It is out for blood! Stay far far away from it! I would give it zero star but the system won't allow it. I had a primary mortgage and my second was sold to PNC. Unfortunately, due to financial hardship, I had to short sell my house. That's when the nightmare began. PNC will not allow me to sell the property unless I agreed to pay the remaining balance, which was about $33K. I ended up signing the paperwork agreeing to it just so I don't lose the buyer. Never mind the fact I had paid $10K in advance three years ago, thinking I was going to keep my home. PNC was unwilling to work with me to settle the final balance of $33K, which was not due until mid July of this year. It's bad enough that PNC could care less about the fact that I made a large lump sum payment in advance 3 years ago. The fact that they are unwilling to work with me when I'm in financial hardship just shows how heartless these people are. If you see a PNC bank, run as fast as you can away from it!!! My complaint is going against the bank as a whole. Last year I had to file bankruptcy due to loss of job, but did not include my car. I filled out the necessary paperwork with my attorney and filed with the courts and sent PNC a copy guaranteed my car payments will continue to be reported on the credit bureaus. Here it is a year later and it's NOT being reported at all! Now I'm being told its there policy not to report regardless if the car was not included when I was told something totally opposite. I have to continue the payments with no reporting or get it reprocessed. Thanks PNC you suck!!!! read more

I called on my way over and was informed by the THIRD person I talked to that they destroy all cards they collect. PNC Bank needs to be looked into... I have a Fannie Mac first mortgage with Wells Fargo and a second mortgage with PNC Bank, formerly National City. Account is in good standing, excellent credit, with a solid employment record. I'm told they are refusing to remain in a subordinate position in order for me to refinance for a combined/better interest rate. I'm currently paying 5.25% on the 1st and 7.5% on the 2nd. I feel held hostage at a time when banks should work harder to help customers stay in their homes as well as make them more affordable. I am exploring all options including taking legal action to ensure that this matter is handled appropriately. PNC are CROOKS - beware! read more

College kid, 2 accounts, 1 mistake. Some banks advertise 24 hr grace etc. Her mix up was fixed in 24 hrs, they stuck it to her 3 times! Like the commercial, see how many fees we can get. One check was from her, to her, on her own account, they cashed and charged her, clearly a mixup meaning to change between accounts. i tried to do online banking its says my info is incorrect. i seen a 23.73 negative balance when it was over 400 deposited, i called they said they didn't see it, neither did i except the night before, i have purchased from doordash it declined, i checked acct it was negative, so no one seen this but me?then i called it says are you calling about declined purchase? im pissed it looks like you ppl are slowly removing monies off card yea by the way i had to go into saving to cover all that was already in there but 2nd time in less than 10 days a that money i have had removed off my card. im using another bank im reporting to federal reserve, bbb because 2 in less than 10 days someone is stealing. i wont bank with fifth third they're thieves and cin fed i seen ppl come in your bank and remove monies from ones account. yea put my monies back on my card pnc.not recommended. read more

I requested a home equity line back in July on-line. The whole process took forever. From the moment I started we received several letters notifying us that they had a decision and would get notice within a few days. Eventually I was notified we needed to submit additional information which is necessary I understood but I did not hear this until I followed up a couple weeks later and then they told me. I submitted the information within 24 hrs. Received more notifications a decision was made and we would hear soon. Couple weeks go by now I followup again, they notify me I have to authorize for an inspection and pay out my pocket because its a commercial property. I think on it a couple days call them to do it. We get more notices now we get one with my name and someone else! Is my information being given to that other person?!!! No they made a mistake and added someone else to our case, but nothing was leaked or so I was told. Weeks go by 3 to be exact we keep getting notifications a decision was made. Yet inspection not done! I called they must have overlooked our case will hear from inspector for valuation of property again. Week later inspector makes appointment visit done. They told us they would make decision with 72 hrs from receiving report of valuation. They received the report the Monday following the visit. We get calls notifying us they are waiting on decision but will be done by Thursday. Two weeks go by finally we get notice of not able to do because property does not reflect enough value. It's now OCTOBER! I have other sources for the money but wanted to get a low interest for an equity loan. Now I have to scrabble around to get things done immediately the other way why because they could not have followed up with me within reasonable time!!! I had to do all the following up! Not to mention I'm waiting for the bill. I should sue as they added to my legal fees for holding up proceedings for some work I was going to get done but waited for the loan! I will never consider them for anything else and I will make sure to tell everyone of this horrible experience. read more

Once someone finally picked up, she said that she needed to transfer me to someone else, even though I called the number that they said that I needed to call.
