I admit that I did not do a thorough enough research and did not realize until after the fact that this bank does not offer mobile check deposit. I am unable to drive and so that is very helpful for me. However, what I love about this bank is that they have gone above and beyond to help accommodate me bye making me very comfortable with mailing in my check deposits. The branch manager and everyone else I have dealt with have all been incredibly kind and helpful and understanding of my situation. I appreciate a business that looks at people as more than just a name or an account number and this bank, specifically this location in Crownsville, does exactly that!

Also, when we have a question, we pick up the phone or stop by a branch. We liked it so much at BOGB that we used them for our business banking. They again, made requirements straight forward where other banks we used had a 10 page list of requirements which included making us login to online banking, having personal accounts, forcing us to have X transactions per month, etc. And to top it off, I have a local branch where I can email for questions, send in tax docs, etc, but also have the convenience to go to many branches. They have great people, locations and availability!

It is a convenient location for all those that are part of a labor union and/or work for a labor union. At first I thought that this was nothing more than an ATM location. But after being around for a bit, and talking with a lot of coworkers, I came to realize that this was a functioning location with a counter complete with tellers. I came here to open up a new account and I find myself leaning more towards credit unions than banks. To note, I had started the application process online to open and account and never heard back from anyone at the credit union for months. I ended up coming into the branch and talking with the staff member responsible with opening accounts. I explained that I had applied to open an account online and that there was no movement. I guess it was a misstep on their behalf. I then asked if I could have hard copies of the application and I would get it filled out and return later that day. Luckily for me, the application process with hard copies was much easier to complete than it was online. Just be aware of the forms you are giving, they tried to slip in an application to apply for a loan for me. Within less than two hours I had my forms complete and I was heading back to this location to hand them in. All I had to do was wait for the forms to be processed by the staff member and then I would hear back from them. True to her word, I had an email shortly thereafter that my account was created and that I would received my checks and card within 7-10 business days. Here is where I thought I was being fooled with. After that email, I did receive an email with my account information. However, when I went to the website to enter this information to confirm and setup my account online, I kept getting denied access. At that point I called the customer service number to figure out what was going on. The lady that helped me via this route was super nice and figured out that they did not give me the complete account number, it was missing a single digit. After that was cleared up, my online account (and mobile account for that fact) were setup. The ten days I was supposed to get my checks and card had come and gone. I called the number for the staff member that initially helped me and had no luck when it came to making contact. At that point, I decided to drop into the branch again. Talked with the staff member and found out that a request for checks and my card was never completed and sent. Once that was cleared up I finally received me card and checks and was able to finally use this account for the reason I set it up.

They won't even return call or email request for a loan info, very difficult to get through to a human. Was told three times someone would call me back. They still haven't. New unnecessary holds on money. Agents swear they are necessary. Turns out they were an error. So misinformation. Lack of response to emails too. And if you do get someone on the phone, they are often uninformed. Some of the OG staff are great, if you can get to them. Just really really bad. Hours of wasted time. And their savings rates aren't even that good relative to what's out there. I'm sad but after more than 8 bad experiences over 3 years, I'm shopping for a new credit union.

So I looked the place up online and found out yet again, there's really no branches anywhere, except for one! I thought to myself- This is perfect! The teller was a little more dismissive and basically said you should've called for an appointment or scheduled it online. The manager immediately stepped in and said you couldn't be seen within 10 minutes. There's nothing to complain about really here, nor is there nothing to really celebrate about here.
