The closing was a little complicated as our nonprofit corporation was selling a property as the successor owner to a defunct church. We alerted the title company ahead of time to see what additional documentation might be needed. They claimed all was in order but we hit a major snag at closing. All was ultimately resolved but only after invoicing multiple attorneys. All's well that ends well.

B&A Realty is a property management/real estate business in Columbus, Ohio. I was a tenant in one…read moreof the apartments that they manage in the Short North/Campus area in 2011. The initial tour of the apartment was lead by Kaci, who was very friendly, helpful, and honest about the property and the management company as well. Kaci was speedy with any questions that we had regarding the apartment during our search, and also when my roommate and I went through the application process as well. The application process was easy and went quickly. B&A was even able to arrange with the previous tenants an earlier move-in date for us, upon our request. Throughout our tenancy with B&A, my roommate and I never found the need to call for maintenance, as the apartment was kept up very well. Our visits to the B&A office (in Upper Arlington) were always very pleasant--the staff is very accommodating. It could be nice to have the office a bit closer to the campus area, but B&A has properties outside of the OSU area too, so the current office is pretty central to all anyway. I would highly recommend B&A Realty for their excellent customer service and for their well maintained apartments/houses in Columbus, Ohio.

In the 2 weeks we waited to move in, they rented the apartment to someone else. They provided a different apartment, but our utilities & mail were already setup for the other address. Upon moving in, the apartment was trashed. There were several violations of the Ohio Revised Code. We ended up moving out the very next day due to the filthy conditions. We requested our deposit back, and never received it. They actually sent us a letter explaining that since we didn't pay rent for the 26 hours we were there, they kept our deposit. We had to contact an attorney, to which they still refused to provide the refund. They still owe us $515. I still have all the documentation.

By the time we found Mr. Roehrenbeck we were scared and felt hopeless and defeated.  Jim gave us hope and lots of encouragement.  After talking with him he believed he could sell our condo for profit and avoid foreclosure all together. He had a plan and a vision for what he could accomplish. We felt confident in the plan he had developed.  We felt safe in his knowledge and expertise of the real estate system.  He recommended we price the property for a lower amount than we were expecting but in the end it was the best advice he could have given us.  Our condo went on the market on 5 pm on a Friday, by the next day (Saturday) at 9:45 pm we were in contract.  We closed a few weeks later. The buyer ended up offering us more than we asked for.  Instead of foreclosure we were able to sell our condo with profit and came out of the situation with money in our pocket!  Jim is a phenomenal realtor. His marketing strategies were outstanding. He stays in constant contact with you and even calls to give you what he calls  "Monday updates".  He is extremely knowledgeable of the real estate process and is able to explain everything in terms that a novice can understand. This was beneficial to us since this was our first time selling a property.  James gave us instructions on what we needed to do to prepare our property to sell so that we didn't have to spend extra money on fixing or preparing things that wouldn't matter in the long run.  If you are looking for a realtor that is excellent, knowledgeable, seasoned and professional and most of all someone you can trust,  you need James Roehrenbeck.  I highly recommend James Roehrenbeck  from Columbus, Ohio.  You will not be disappointed.  We can not thank him enough!

When I would call in the evening or weekend, expecting to just leave a voicemail for the next business day, he would call right back! He is extremely knowledgeable and very on-the-ball. James was so above and beyond their get-to-you-later approach, and got the job done for us quickly, well, and in both cases at a price we were happy with. Real estate transactions are very difficult and involve a lot of money, so we were glad to have someone as trustworthy and reliable as James.
