I would not recommend Kevin Minkoff if you want consistency, communication or accountability. I…read morestarted last year doing project management for my bf. Since he is so busy with work, he has never been able to spend time making sure things are going correctly with bookkeeping or taxes. I got in and was able to and that when we started noticing how much this company lacks. I have been blamed multiple times for what is lacking for this CPA business. Their first bookkeeper wasnt doing things right so everything got really behind. They hire a new one and she has to play catch up which puts all of his clients behind. She was the only good thing about this business. We had to file an extension because they couldnt have things done on time, we waited over 7 months for them to fix an issue with filing that werent done right and we were being penalized for. Anytime you need to actually talk to Kevin, he never responds and just assumes someone else is. No one know what is going on, ever. They had multiple system changes that affected quickbooks so made things extremely difficult. If I could charge him for how much time I had to spend on things that they are supposed to be doing, we wouldnt have a bill from them. Most of the time no one is even there. Assistant is gone constantly. I could keep going but if you dont want to be blamed for the CPAs mess, I highly recommend not going here

Scheduling is easy and you actually sit down with Kevin to discuss your needs. You can bring in documents or upload them from your phone or computer. The pricing is vey fair. Turns out they had made a mistake. So far, I'm ok. People make mistakes, that's human. I can forgive. They reluctantly agreed it was an error, but then they wanted to charge me to fix it. I felt angry and humiliated and unheard. I'm never using them again.

My mom's current CPA found a deduction that this business overlooked in a previous return that…read morewould have resulted in a substantial refund. Since my mom doesn't drive, I brought her paperwork to their office and showed them where the deduction would be. From day one communication from this business was exceptionally scarce. Most of my 'updates' were in the form of automatic reply emails. It had been almost 4 months since bringing them my mom's paperwork, and her amendment still had not been filed. Additionally, It had been over a month since I had received any word from this business (not even automatic email replies). In an act of desperation and frustration I repeatedly called their business one day in an attempt to find some clarity. The next day I received an email shaming me for my attempts to reach them and stating that after a "quick review" of my moms tax return they didn't "understand what is wrong with it", even though I carefully explained and showed where the omitted deduction was when I dropped off the paperwork. It was clear that this was a retaliation, and that my mom was now being punished for what they deemed as my bad behavior. Which again, was one day of trying repeatedly to reach someone by phone. When paying a business to do one's taxes, the consumer has a reasonable expectation that they will be prepared correctly, or that any errors or oversights will be corrected in a timely and professional manner. Their refusal to amend her tax return not only reflects a lapse in ethical judgment but also raises questions about their commitment to the principles of their profession. I am extremely disappointed and would certainly not recommend that anyone use this business.
