I love when you walk in you are greeted with the 100 Banned Books to peruse through. I love a business that highlights banned books, as all booksellers should be doing this year. Although I felt like the selection was limited, I wasn't upset with this store. It just took me a little longer to find a book to purchase. I loved all the knickknacks (stickers, bags, etc) they had to shop from. The kind bookseller was helpful when I asked for help. She was completely open to offering suggestions, but I felt capable of finding something else. She was extremely kind and engaging with the few patrons that were in the store. Since I this was my first time here, I was taking it all in. The kid section was really cute and the layout is easy to shop. I enjoyed the staff picks and layouts of the different sections. They are on the smaller side, so I wouldn't expect to show up and find every single top book on the market. But there are PLENTY that I found enjoyable and enough to purchase two books! The only area to improve maybe would be the attention from the Staff to the Customer. The line was long and the pastry display was pretty depleted, but to me that means the food must be epic. It was busy when I arrived. A great shop for games, comics and related memorabilia on the northeast side of town…read more The thing I first noticed about this place was the pleasant atmosphere of the store and the friendly and helpful demeanor of the owner/proprietor, Don. I've been to several of the comic stores in town and more than a few had a less-than-welcoming vibe. After calling another store in town to inquire about comic sales (and getting a quasi-hostile response), I tried calling the Comic Signal. Don was immediately helpful and informative. After stopping at the shop in person, I was surprised to find that the owner was happy to discuss anything to do with comics. He also helped me pick out a great board game for my kids and actually opened one up to let me see what it looked like and explained how it was played. What a great store to have in the community! I can definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're interested in comics and/or related collectibles.
