In late July, I purchased a 16 cu. ft. Vissani deep freeze from the Bayers Lake store. Unfortunately, by mid-October, the freezer stopped working, and I lost all of its contents. I tried various solutions but couldn't get it working, so I sought warranty assistance. However, I couldn't find my receipt, which I needed for the repair. Initially, I contacted customer care via telephone, and the representative assured me that my receipt could be retrieved at the Bayers Lake store. On October 28, I went to the store, providing a three-day purchase window, the exact sales amount, and the model information, hoping they could locate the purchase. I was informed, however, that since it was a cash purchase, no record could be found, and no one offered assistance in locating it, despite the details I provided. I requested to speak with Assistant Manager Lyt Adams, who offered a full refund if I returned the freezer, though all I wanted was a working freezer. Initially, all I was looking for was my receipt so I could go through the warranty process and have my freezer repaired or replaced. However, I accepted this solution and was given paperwork to return within the week with the freezer. On October 30, I returned to the store with the freezer and paperwork, only to be told by a different associate that I could not receive a cash refund, only store credit. The associate's attitude made me feel as though I was doing something wrong, and it was made clear that store credit was my only option. Reluctantly, I accepted the store credit. On November 7, I found my original receipt and returned to the store, expecting that I could now receive a refund instead of store credit. I spoke again with Assistant Manager Lyt Adams, who said he would escalate the matter to Store Manager Ashley White and assured me that I would hear back from her. The next day, however, I received no call from Ms. White. Instead, Mr. Adams called me later that evening to inform me that there was nothing they could do, and the first thing he pointed out was that I was now past the 90-day return period. However, when I initially visited the store and spoke with Mr. Adams, I was within the 90-day period, so this feels especially frustrating. Throughout this process, all I wanted was a working freezer. I would be more than willing to purchase a replacement freezer from Home Depot, but there are no comparable models available in size, price, or immediate availability. I am disappointed that no one assisted me in locating the receipt initially, nor did anyone attempt to find an alternative solution to the product failure. Instead, I was left with store credit and no suitable replacement options in stock. This experience has left me questioning Home Depot's commitment to customer satisfaction. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously to improve service for future customers.

I went into this particular location last week because I was looking for taps for my kitchen sink. I found the staff to be rude and not helpful. It has everything, tools, power units (chippers, generators, etc), trailer accessories, welding, the list goes on. The house brand is POWER FIST, and i have mixed feelings on it. The prices seem to be as good or slightly better than the Mastercraft (Cdn tire brand) but i don't feel the quality is on the same field, althoguh close. Do i own Power Fist tools? Hell yeah, for what i do, i usually go with the best price! Yes the place seems like it is in disarray, with stuff everywhere, but spend a little time in there and it makes sense. I went on the referral of my folks whom had dealt with them back when they were AC&H.. because they were always good with prices of hardware. I was (and still am... SPOILER ALERT!) in search of 20 or so drawer and cupboard pulls for my kitchen. They have a great, concise (if not put into a smaller space) display area for their retail sales. They are pretty contractor/decorator heavy business, so understandably, the retail side is a little less populated. But after looking through all the options, I picked a few out, and the woman had to look up the SKU numbers. They all came out to over 5 dollars (which when you consider I need 20.. is a little ridiculous).. so I had to work my way out of that sales situation. The woman was pleasant to her credit, especially when I heard the price and she got the feeling I wasn't looking to pay that much, and I appreciated that. But if you're not worried about price too much, then Richelieu is the place for you. (How's that for a tagline)

My Husband and I had bought a new home (first and last new home I will ever own), and we were SO excited to have some renovations done to make it a little more inviting for us. We hired Payzant's Home Hardware in Lower Sackville to put in cupboards in our kitchen including a lazy susan garbage area and a dishwasher. We also had them rip out carpeting and install laminate flooring throughout the top floor of our home and install a hot water tank. There were so very many issues, it would be an extremely long read for anyone, so I will sum it up in bullet point. - I scheduled the movers for several days after the flooring was supposed to be completed. The day before the movers were due to arrive, the work was still not completed, and they did not even come to work that day. On the morning of the move, I called to ensure the workers had masks on as we were going to be there (I am immune compromised). I was assured they would have masks, but when we arrived, there was only one person working, with no mask, and he ended up being underfoot when the movers where trying to bring stuff into the house. - When they removed the carpet upstairs there was a very sticky substance all over the floors. The installation crew did not bother to try and protect the other floors in our home. They walked all through the main level of our home and the carpeted stairs. They did have a steam cleaning company in to clean the stairs, but we are still trying to get the stuff off the laminate flooring. - We were not asked to pick out a dishwasher, so we asked what dishwasher we were getting in advance and were told a Frigidaire. We like that brand so we never said anything further about it. When the installation was complete, imagine our surprise to discover it was a GE they installed. They came back and switched to a better model. - When installing the new flooring they discovered a hole in the floor where the railing was and told us the railing had to go and they could not use it again. We paid close to $2000.00 for a new section of railing. When they installed it, they drilled holes in the wrong spots for each spindle and neglected to nail in some of the pieces of wood in the top rail (and used the wrong nails when they did). They came back and nailed in the pieces of wood on the top. - They drilled two holes in the wrong spot in our new cupboards for our lazy susan. So right out in front there are two obvious holes. They did try to fill them and hide them, but you can still see it. - On our very first visit we were told we would need handles for the door cupboards, but the person we worked with was in a hurry so it was going to have to wait for another day. That day never came, and we were not asked again. When they installed the cupboards, they came and asked us where the handles were, and we didn't have any. They had to come back and do that too. Which was okay because one of the people installing took home a piece of our cupboard in his pocket, so they had to come back anyway. I could go on, there was more. The customer service was very much lacking. We were made to feel as though they were doing us a favour. We had to have people in our home so many times when it should not have been necessary. In the end, we have expensive new railing with holes in between every spindle, we have holes in our new cupboards, and some sort of a substance all over our floors. After weeks of trying to get things settled with the general manager, he offered us $250.00 off of the total invoice, which was over $20,000.00. I told him he was missing a zero, and he could either provide proper compensation for the damaged items in our home; or, come install new railing and a new cupboard. He responded by telling me if we didn't pay in 15 days, they would put a lien on our new home. I went to the BBB and they tried to get a response but had no luck. We paid, but I would never EVER recommend anyone use their services!

Stunned at the choices in the paint stripping/removal isle, I overheard a super cheerful woman helping one isle over. I waited until she finished with the customer she was helping and approached, keeping my social distance. She was super helpful & knew just what I needed. Perfect, the one star in the review - it's her. I grabbed the other item - something I had purchased before and knew exactly where to find. Navigating the store was a bit tough as I found a lot of the isles do not have arrows, no one really knew where to go sometimes. The inconsistency in staff wearing masks was a bit confusing to me. I finally wandered (not far) & found my last item: electrical wire. The signs very clearly state, cannot be purchased without associate assistance. Okay, let's find someone. I noticed the orange smock on a gentlemen about 15 feet away, I advised him whenever he was available I would need some assistance with the wire. He assured me that was no problem and continued assisting someone else. TWENTY MINUTES LATER I am still waiting, two men have been and left without getting wire, I continued waiting. I had even overheard another associate telling another customer that there was no one working in this department. I could still see the associate who assured me that he would assist - still not assisting me, but others in the seasonal department. I went to customer service desk, who were very visibly stressed and overrun with orders. There were two staff, the female was assisting one customer with her husband picking up an online order and loudly complaining to her male coworker. After standing on the customer service side and waiting for them to finish, the male associate asks if he can help, I advise I've been waiting twenty minutes for wire & just need some help. I am again assured that someone will be over and I head back over to wait. Over the following twenty minutes I witnessed a staff member walk behind me four times without asking to assist me and two other associates walk by. After fifteen minutes, I decided to pick up my phone (now at 12% battery from entertaining me waiting for almost an hour) and CALL THE STORE. After a really long ringing (convinced I heard my call ring from one phone to another along the front of the store before eventually being picked up by the female at the customer service desk, who screamed so loudly into the phone I couldn't even make out what she was saying. I asked for the stores manager. She wanted to know my concern to know which manager to send me to and I explain I have been in the store waiting for help for over 40 minutes. After a short transfer, a short conversation with a manager, one store intercom page (THE FIRST ONE) and ten more minutes of waiting, I left. I didn't even want to buy the items I had already picked up. I do not ever want to consider this store as a reasonable option for an establishment to encourage anyone I know to spend even a dime. Even in a pandemic. I am reconsidering future plans for moving to a lock-in where this would be my closest hardware store after the worst experience of my actual life.
