The lodge is definitely a step back in time to the 60's/70's. But VERY clean and neat and comfortable! Will stay here again. No TV in the room... if you don't like it, don't come to the North Woods. We originally booked cabin 1 but after looking at more pictures on the website, we decided we'd rather stay in cabin 2 (it was more up to date). They switched us with no hassle. Gorgeous 2 bedroom cabin. One room had 2 twin beds. The master room has a queen bed and a nice bathroom with a shower. There was also a second bathroom with no shower. Nice kitchen with all supplies you need. Cute living room area with two recliners and a 3 person couch. Tv and fireplace. We used the fireplace everyday, it was so nice! The decor is adorable.. rustic and northwoods themed.. so cute and inviting! We had a beautiful little deck/patio overlooking the lake and gorgeous pine trees. We relaxed our entire trip, playing cards, making cookies, watching movies, reclining by the fire, making hot chocolate, and enjoying the scenery and view. We ate dinner one night at the restaurant attached to the lodge/resort.. cant remember the name. The food was good! I had a wrap and onion rings.. the onion rings were perfect! We were the only ones in there besides two older men.. who we believe were talking about us (we were wearing chicago bears clothes.. in Wisconsin. . Oops!) Overall the lodge is nice.. the cabin we booked through them was beautiful and simple to book! Definitely stay here.. in cabin 2!!!

What defines the salad bar as great are the homemade salads, we tried tuna/pasta/pea salad, three bean salad and cauliflower /broccoli /carrot salad which were all great. We were there on a Friday night and had the fried haddock which is one of the better fish frys I've had in WI. It comes with the salad bar/potato & traditional rye bread. We had the homemade strawberry and the blueberry pies that were devine and I'm told that people put their pie slices on order when they make their reservations. A place not to be missed when you're up north!

I'm sorry to say that my last several visits here were not only disappointing but the last visit on July 7, 2024, has me never going back. On more than one occasion in recent past, we have had food cooked incorrectly. I kept coming back because I know there are few restaurants up north and I want to try to support the businesses. This was the last straw. One of the items we ordered was a hamburger, medium-rare. It came out very well-done, almost burned. We asked for another one. The waitress came out and told us that the kitchen refused to redo the dish. The waitress said she would just place another order take it out of her own money. She was crying. She also asked for us not to complain as she would get in trouble. Mind you, a similar thing happened to us over a year before, with a different waitress. Mistakes are made in any business. Dishes are over or undercooked but it is how the business deals with it, which makes the difference. I'm done with this place. I understand that after last winter, businesses are struggling but the customers are struggling too in this economy and are spending a lot of money to enjoy an evening out. If we are paying for a dinner, we should be able to get it cooked correctly.
