I wanted to share my recent visit to The Plough & Harrow in Aldridge on January 12, 2024, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations.
Even though I had a reservation for 17:45, my most recent visit--particularly disheartening given my regular visits--turned out to be a letdown. I faced a prolonged wait without any service, prompting me to approach the bar after 20 minutes.
Regrettably, my ordered food never made its way to my table, compelling me to depart after an hour with only a single glass of wine consumed (which I took to the bar to address the extended wait and settle my tab for what I had consumed). Despite airing my initial discontent through an online review, I chose to grant The Plough & Harrow another chance later that evening.
Upon my return, despite being seated after my arrival and having my order taken, I encountered an unhelpful employee who, despite my assurance that I have dined at the establishment before, linked their refusal of service to my review posted just a few hours ago. I explicitly conveyed that a positive experience could lead to an amendment in my review. I believe it is entirely reasonable for customers to voice concerns about service, and this response struck me as unprofessional.
I'm disappointed that the situation wasn't addressed with a simple apology and improved service, resulting in an overall unpleasant experience. As someone in a directorial role myself, I understand the significance of positive customer relationships, and this incident contradicts the values your establishment purports to uphold.
Additionally, I am troubled by the false accusation of threatening and abusive behavior in the response from The Plough & Harrow Management Team. I categorically deny engaging in any such behavior and request an immediate retraction of this claim.
While I wish to clarify that the business's response, while not explicitly stating, implies that I have engaged in threatening and abusive behavior, the statement "We do not tolerate threatening and abusive behavior towards our team and will continue to refuse service to anyone who acts in this manner" is concerning, as it suggests such behavior on my part.
I believe it's crucial to address this issue, not only for the sake of accuracy but also to maintain a fair and respectful online environment.
To support my account, I've initiated a GDPR request for the CCTV footage of that evening and expect a prompt response, as stipulated by law.
I have already formally requested a thorough investigation into this matter with Mitchells & Butlers PLC and expect appropriate corrective actions. Failure to address these concerns adequately may compel me to explore legal avenues to safeguard my rights and reputation.
I trust that you will approach this matter seriously and look forward to a swift resolution that aligns with the values of customer service and integrity.
Best regards,
