After the bone graft is completed, I needed to return four months later for the implant. The receptionist/biller never called for the authorization and never told me I may have to pay 1,800.00 out of pocket. I showed up today for the implant only to be told for the first time that I needed to pay $1,800.00 in full! I asked her what my insurance said and she said she never heard back from them. So I asked why she didn't follow up. She told me, "it's a courtesy" and she doesn't *have to follow up. I've been to many a dentist and doctors offices in my day and... it's your job. The doctor participâtes with my insurance and everything must first be run through the insurance with a denial before I come out of pocket. She rudely doubled down and said they must have been closed during the shut down (lie number 1) and continued on to say that they denied her request which is why she never heard from them (lie number 2). Insurances always issue documentation to both the provider and the patient for authorizations and denials so don't urinate on my head and claim it's raining... She offered to rescheduled me... but I took a hard pass. It's not a courtesy to tell your patients how much they will be spending out of pocket - it's your job. I will be getting that implant - just not here. Run far and run fast from this business.
