I called back in January of 2021 and left another message with the same secretary to ask for an appointment and again I never heard back. In March of 2021, I left a written message on their website asking to schedule an appointment that was never replied to. A week later I called the office again and told the receptionist that I had had no luck leaving messages with the attorney's secretary and asked if there was anyone else that I could speak to about scheduling an appointment. The Office Manager handled my call and told me that someone would call me back by the end of the day. There was no call back that day but the next day I was called by the attorney and we arranged an in-person meeting for 3:30 on April 12, 2021. At 3:15 on April 12th I showed up at the building and called the receptionist to get admitted to the building. My call was sent to the attorney's secretary's phone and I left a message asking to be admitted. After 5 minutes I called the receptionist again and was put on hold for 10 minutes while she tried to get the secretary on the line but she was unsuccessful and asked me if she could just have them call me back. I finally gave up and left the office. Approximately 10 minutes later, the attorney called me apologizing for the mix up and offered to meet me at any location, at any time but I declined as I had lost confidence in their organizational ability. A half an hour later I received a call from the attorney's secretary asking if I had been contacted by the attorney yet and apologizing for the mix up. They may be good attorneys but I have no confidence in their administrative abilities and don't feel that I could trust them to meet schedules or deadlines.

Of-course most replies first message to me were their list of fee's and so forth, thats ok, I get that and totally understand it, gotta pay if we're looking for any legal help. I get it. But, Mr. Hernandez' reply to me was different from the others, he was the ONLY lawyer to reply back telling me to try out these "FREE" forms first where I could basically fill out a Will myself...for free! He sent me three state websites that I should check out first where I maybe will not need to pay any money. Mr. Hernandez did not have to do that, he could have done what the others did and sent me his fees and so forth. Mr. Hernandez doing this for me proves he absolutely cares about helping people first, instead of taking people's money first. He most likely saved me ALOT of money. This simple act show's the charachter and integrity of Mr. Hernandez. I will absolutely keep Mr. Hernandez' number close by if I should need him in the future and I will definitely recommend his services to others. Thank you so much again Mr. Hernandez!

He was very straightforward and didn't waste any time. He thoroughly researched all the information I sent him before my consult appointment. I could tell that he cared about my issue, but was also very professional and didn't just feed me what I wanted to hear. He was very factual. He also let me know the different options of what could happen with my issue. By the end of the consult, I felt more relaxed knowing all of my options. If you're not sure about retaining legal representation or you just need some legal advice, I highly recommend getting a consultation with Mr. Gorski. He won't pressure you and will answer all your questions thoroughly. Mr. Gorski is my go to now; for any legal matters in his areas of expertise. Thank you Mr. Gorski!

I am very disappointed with the service I received. Eduardo, who answered the phone, was extremely…read morerude and dismissive. He did not address any of my concerns, nor did he make any effort to listen or make me feel heard. I paid $200 for a consultation, and my experience fell far short of what I expected. My phone call was late, and when it finally happened, it lasted less than three minutes. Mr. Gorski told me to call back once I had all my documents, and would see if he would be able to help with the court proceedings but I was left feeling unsupported and uncertain about whether he could assist with my upcoming court date. This was an unprofessional and frustrating experience, and I would not recommend their services based on how I was treated.

I should start by saying that he did refund a good portion of our retainer and rightfully so. The…read morefollowing statement is supported by facts that are available to be shared with anyone at anytime to prove that this review is based on actually happening and not feelings. It took them 4 weeks to even get a phone call scheduled with me to write up the paperwork. Other attorneys found this to be absolutely ridiculous and the turnaround should have been within 2 weeks. Thats just information I received after the fact. Once the phone call was made, Serena was told multiple times during the phone call and in an email that a specific address that repeated multiple times throughout the document needed to be changed to another very specific address due to safety reasons because an individual that was a 2 time convicted felon who had already been formally trespassed and had physically threatened us. This indiviual need not know the address. This felon was also responsible for arson of another property. All of this was very thoroughly explained to Serena multiple times. She changed the address in one spot and there were approximately 6 places it needed to be changed. Conclusion, she didnt read the document and/or didnt care. Not sure which. Serena also misclasified and Individual as a trustee when they were never mentioned anywhere as a trustee, only a beneficiary. Conclusion, same as previous conclusion but uncertain. We were biled over $900 for Brumfield himself to proof read everything and yet this all slipped by him as well. Conclusion...unknown. I have literally over 100 phone calls to them back to back to prove that once you fire them, they will ignore you. I pushed my way through until I got through. There are also many other reviews I read that stated Brumfield ignored their calls as well however that is their statement. I have no proof of theirs, only mine. There is still so much more inprofessionalism however I can't write a novel here. Again, I did receive a sizeable refund and all of my statements are true and correct with documentation in writing from notary documents and Brumfields own emails from him AND his staff. Why 2 stars and not 1? While the service was subpar and I wasnt at all happy, that does not mean that some of the knowledge shared wasnt of value and that knowledge does deserve some recognition. How vast is the knowledge? Unknown. I couldnt get that far due to the subpar service from his paralegals. "Caveat Emptor" Feel free to reach out if you do want any proof of my previous statement in this true and honest review UPDATE After Mr. Brunfield read this and chose to respond the way he did, he then emailed me telling me I was in breach of contract telling me to remove my review. Our contract states that once the refund had been received I no longer held him and his office liable. I do not hold him or his office liable any longer. I let him know this is my 1st ammendment right and that this is not holding him liable but simply a true and correct review with all proof to back it up. The choice from here is yours to decide. I have his email to show what I stated is true FURTHER UPDATE Mr. Brumfield emailed me once again to try and threaten me to remove this review. He stated my intent was to harm him and his firm. I explained i am simply sharing my experience to others and his own actions would be the only thing to harm his firm. He the updated his response further. I believe his actions here are very telling. Once again, I have all emails to back up my statements.

Full disclosure - I was not in the court room as I reside 1,800 miles from Bakersfield. But I personally selected Underwood Law as our representation based on a lengthy and very positive conversation I initially had with Mr. Underwood. Full details were disclosed and his response was extremely optimistic. We moved forward at the tune of $6,000. The optimism remained steadfast throughout all preparatory conversations with the paralegal making it known that she had never lost a case. On the day of our hearing Mr. Underwood suddenly stated to family that was in attendance that we could easily lose this case. We've no idea what caused this turnaround. Perhaps learning who the sitting judge was, perhaps having read the defendant's statement (we've yet to see this), we do not know. The case was lost in a matter of minutes. Back to Mr. Underwood's call regarding my review - we talked. He felt that I had been misinformed and he said he was going to put together a cover letter outlining the sequence of events, a copy of the petition that was filed on our behalf and finally a copy of the defendant's written response. He asked for a couple of days. In all fairness to Underwood Law, I removed my review pending his side of the story. Ten days later, having heard nothing, I inquired as to the disposition of said documentation. I was told that Ms. Medina was going to prepare the file and mail it out. That was 13 days ago and still crickets. It's a puzzling operation they run. Again - just my experience and my opinion. Dissatisfaction with the service of Underwood Law seems even more reasonable at this point.
