Still fun the second time around…read more My first time to kayak with these guys was 3 years ago. On that excursion, I was fortunate enough to have an encounter with 2 dolphin. Alas, this year, what with Hurricane Sally and all, I did not see my finned friends again. Tony told me that the area lost at least 800 boats when Hurricane Sally came through. Sad. However, I still had a great time. Tony and Tem took great care of getting me rigged up. I paddled all the way back to the main part of the bay near the bridge and spent time exploring several of the islands. Last time, I turned back once I made it to the big island. This year, I made it all the way around the island and then some. There was a strong East wind the day I set out, so the first part of the journey was a bit more of a challenge, but I was ready for it. Fortunately, the trip back was a bit easier with the wind at my back. Still, I fought quite a headwind rounding the Northern tip of the Big Island that day. Thankfully, that same East wind made the rest of the trip easier since it helped me along heading back to Paddled By You. If you enjoy being out on the water, and like the exercise, you need to check these guys out. Good service. Good equipment, and as good of time as you want to have. Oh, and they have kayaks for 1, 2, or every 3 people. That comes in handy when you have a good deal of paddling to do. One last TIP - Sunscreen. Be sure to put Sunscreen on whatever part you don't want to get burned, even on a cloudy day. I also took a larger hat than last time, and was darn glad I did. Now it's your turn. Get out there and get some exercise and have a blast. Maybe you'll even see some dolphins like I did.

I really appreciated her coming back and accommodating us. I enjoy this place because there are islands nearby that you can kayak to and spend some time playing in the water and it's typically not very crowded. She also takes pictures of you and your friends as you're coming back and will text them to you. It's more expensive in comparison to other kayak rental places but it's worth it.

Her truck was loaded with three kayaks she was renting that morning. After a few introductory tips to the kayakers, they paddled away, and she hauled two paddle boards over to the water. I then had an utterly fantastic yoga class on a paddle board. Had not done that before and it's pretty challenging. But what a great way to get exercise and work on your balance. I was hoping to rent a SUP from her at her Pensacola location--she says it's prettier there than where we met--but the weather forecast wasn't rosy. She said she would text me after a couple of days to let me know if there were a window in all the storms we've been having. She texted as promised, but we weren't able to make it work. The pontoon broke down not once, but TWICE. The first time we spent 2.5 hours getting repaired and a new boat. Then the next pontoon was even slower then the first broken one. The second boat could not even break 3 rpm. Spent the majority of time fixing the boat. We asked to captain to turn around and requested a refund. The manager lady was super rude, has ZERO customer service experience, and only offered $150 refund. We spent maybe an hour on the boat without an issue. I requested to speak to the owner and was informed that they would not talk to me. They are scamming people at this location. Check their yelp reviews, this business is garbage.

Just awful from beginning to end…read more First, I should have known it would be a nightmare when the owner told me to book again and he would cancel it (10 days out and still have paid twice, no one seems interested). Second, the check in is the biggest cluster**** that I have ever experienced. There are basically people everywhere, mass confusion, and again, no employees seem interested. Third, the boat itself was in awful shape. We had to trust that they had filled the boat up since the gas gauge does NOT work. This wouldn't be a big deal except remember YOU are required to fill it up after you are done. When asked if we needed to sign off on the very damaged boat before heading out, the deckhand said as long as you don't sink it, we don't care (this shows in how much they respect their equipment). The mildew is basically everywhere. The captain's chair was missing two bolts so rocked the entire time (no one wanted to sit on it because the once white chair is now black from mildew). The radio worked but the speaker was cracked from top to bottom. In Summary, the workers don't care, the owners don't seem to care, and the equipment is a joke. Do NOT waste one day of your vacation here!
