The slope from the whites I believe is posted maybe 117 but I feel it should be more like 125. The front nine while not all that long it is very tough especially once you get on the greens. You have to stay below the hole on the greens. The 4 or 5 flat holes on the back are somewhat a relief until you get on the green. This is a truly challenge course. The price is more than my golfnow budget typically allows but then this is not your average golf course as well. A true delight. Staff here is very friendly and welcoming, they take your green fees and get your snacks at the snack bar. The golf shop has essentials. The greens were in terrific condition but played somewhat slow due to all the recent rain; also had 90 degree rule in effect but not a lot of mud. The golf course is walkable but has some up and down hill. Great place to have fun.

It was cart path only but the cart paths are in awful condition. The roughs were 4" deep and almost impossible to hit out of. The sand traps were a joke with more rocks and stones than sand. Even the concession stand was overpriced with a hot dog costing $6.40. With as poor as the conditions were, it cost $72.00 on a Sunday. I would not play there again at half that price.

Finally started play at 11:20. Ninety minutes later we completed four holes. There were four groups waiting at the fifth tee. One hitting while three others waiting (now four waiting with my group). Called the clubhouse and was told "that's the way it is. Nothing we can do". There was no one on hole nine. There was no one on hole eight. A group was just coming off hole seven. One slow group backed-up the entire front nine and management would do NOTHING ABOUT IT. We'll never go back.

The fairways are very nice, and the greens roll the ball very well. The down side was the greens were very hard and because they were small, we had trouble on approach shots. The course has to many sand traps, and the sand was hard as a rock so you couldn't get out of them as you do with proper sand. I didn't like that nearly every hole had numerous sand traps on them, so if you didn't hit a perfect shot you were in a trap. The course needs a Ranger. Play was very slow, particularly the last 3 holes where a party of 7 drunk players were playing/partying together. That's right, a sevensome! So, I rate the Stone Ridge Golf Course a 3. The price to play gets a 5, the fairways get a 5, the greens get a 3, the traps get a 0, the lack of a Ranger nets a 0, and the experience gets a 0 because of the drunken sevensome. Will I play Stone Ridge again? No, there are to many nicer places to play.
