This is, HANDS DOWN, the best daycare in the area. I've had 3 of 5 of my children go there from infancy through preschool. I recommend Pleasant Day Schools to anyone and everyone that ever asks for daycare recommendations! This isn't about my child Daycare refused to release a child to their mother (there was no custody order), which is illegal. The child has been in a dangerous situation, and the father is being investigated by child protective services currently for abuse of the other children in his care. Mother attempted to check on the welfare of the child here, in an attempt to avoid a physical altercation, which has been an issue in the past, and the father has a long past of domestic violence. Instead of being helpful in achieving this, the staff at the daycare told the father that the mother had been waiting outside Of the daycare the entire day, which is not true at all, and only escalated the situation. Mother and father had both gone to the daycare at the same time. Father has been showing signs of extreme paranoia, and the daycare telling him this made that even worse. I understand that the daycare does not know about the investigation with child protective services, the father's past and the recent abuse towards the other children in the household (abuse to this child is unknown due to her age and inability to advocate for herself), the father's past with domestic violence and drug abuse, or the fact that there was previous communication with the father's side on the day in question, and is the reason that this meeting was taking place. This child ended up injured. Thier father's paranoia(which has been an ongoing mental issue for several months), was escalated when the daycare lied to him. And i understand that they do not know about the father's ongoing mental state or the violence towards the other children as recently as the previous day, just like I understand that they don't know what the mother's. But to lie to the father and put the child in danger, to which caused the child injury, is absolutely inexcusable, and for them to refuse to release the child to a custodial parent (there is no custody order in place so both parents have the same rights, under the law) is illegal. And further reading cases about other children being injured, and in one case where a child had their arm broken by the staff, is absolutely horrendous. read more

I'm unsure as to why my review is marked as "not currently recommended" but I am a current parent with 2 children that attend Pleasant Day. My oldest is in the School Age room with Miss. Grace and Mr. Ike and their helpers and I couldn't have asked for a better more comfortable place for my child to be. He loves giving Miss Grace a huge hug the min he arrives in the morning and he loves playing basketball and being outside with Mr. Ike in the afternoons! Even the other kids in the program are really great! My youngest is in one of the Toddler classrooms. He is allergic to Milk, Egg and Carrot. When I enrolled my son, I was personally told that they would accommodate my son's allergies and focus on inclusion. They went above and beyond to do that! My son eats a safe alternative that is as close to what the other kids get as they can. It is incredible and still makes me tear up thinking about how much they care about my son and jumped at the opportunity before they really even knew our family. My son gets to eat Dairy Free Pizza on Pizza day and Dairy Free yogurt at snack time so that he gets to eat the same foods as his friends. Among other alternatives that are as close to what the other kids get as they can. They really do go above and beyond everything I could have asked for. We love everything about this school. Their teachers are really amazing and love my boys just like I would. The front office staff and owners are also amazing and really help start and end my day on good notes. If I could give more stars to my review I would. Our family will be part of the Pleasant Day family for years to come. read more

I highly discourage any parent to enroll their child in pleasant day schools. I would not even give them one star, if it wasn't required to post a review. My six-month-old infant daughter's arm was broken by a teacher who had been left alone in an infant room who was not even past her probationary period. The administration refused to allow me to watch the video of the room, after I was informed they reviewed the video and, according to them, "nothing happened." They placed that teacher back in the infant room, until investigators came in and reviewed the video. The employee was arrested and charged with felony child abuse. The administration never once asked how my daughter was doing, and even attempted to insinuate that this injury occurred at home. I am clear that no one has control over any one else's behaviors. However, this administration, specifically Lakin and Craig Edmond, continued to tell me, "Nothing happened, there is nothing to see," for an hour as I begged them to let me see the video, so I could get the medical care my daughter needed. My daughter had to have every bone in her body xrayed, and a CT scan completed, to determine if there were any other injuries. Because we didn't know what happened, and they refused to let me watch the video. And they placed that teacher back in the room, endangering all those other infants until state police arrested her. You can not trust the administration to be honest with you, if anything were to ever happen to your child at this facility. Please, please, do your research. read more
