I was a little Larry walking in because I felt this wasn't even a restaurant at first. It looked…read moremore like a grocery store. The people behind the counter kind of looked at me funny but I really wanted some good authentic Mexican food. I figured with four stars it must not be too bad. I ask the young lady if this was the Mexican restaurant and she led me to a table. She set me down and I asked for water with lemon a few minutes later she brought me water with lime LOL it was good though! I like lime as well. I was assuming there was a bit of a communication gap between us. I am however, trying to learn Spanish. She brought me chips and salsa the chips for a tad stale and the salsa had way too much cilantro in it for my liking. But I completely distain cilantro so I am a bad opinion on their salsa. When I asked for guacamole she brought me a bowl and luckily there was no cilantro in it. It was one of the best guacs I've had at any restaurant! It only took about 15 minutes to get my burrito. I'm not gonna lie when she brought it to me, it looked more like a sandwich wrap ‍not at all what I was expecting. I'm not gonna lie though it was by far one of the best burritos I've ever eaten. So big I could only eat half of it but it reheated nicely the next day!! I'll be back for sure

Food was okay. The waiter was a little busy but very nice. Out of his control. Thank you !!read more

Stopped by while on road for work. Like many rural communities this is a small town that probably…read morehad its hey day sometime between WW1 and the depression and there is not a lot to choose from if you need to grab a sit down meal. But this small main drag has a decent old school butcher shop, a bar and seems to be a cattle center. So this Mexican restaurant is right in the middle and is pretty fresh and vibrant looking for the area. If cleanliness and pride of ownership is a plus for you, these people are top of the heap. While clearly an old building and space the place while basic is authentic decor with Mexican music that is never too loud, and southwestern mex vibe. The food was really good. For basic simple cuisine it is oddly easy to screw up or skimp on but this was amazingly fresh for ingredients. Nothing sitting around all day. The fajitas have generous portions and the veggies and steak were done just right. Even refried beans, which I typically leave and experience as brown paste other places, were dang good. For the prices it was the deal of century. I was curious as to their shrimp items but did not venture to see what they're using. I'm fine with frozen in this neck of the woods but I'd not want factory breaded stuff. Next time. Having eaten Mexican food for ages and in restaurants in Mexico as well, it's always a kick to find a place in the rural Midwest that is doing a better job than most. If you're in the area and you're looking for a decent real deal give this place a shot.

Great value. Nice Mexican food. Will do this again. Good service. Nice people…read more Had lunch. Enchiladas for me. Wife had tacos. Tacos were awesome. Enchiladas were good. Family run. Great addition to food options in the area. Will do this one agAin!

First off... I love Mexican cuisine above any other. If I've had a bad day, my go to comfort food…read moreis Mexican. This is not Taco Bell or Taco John's and thank goodness it's not. This is a gem of a place in small town Milbank and everyone owes it to their taste buds to come here. The hardest part was choosing which deliciously crafted item to choose!!! Mr. had the Chimichanga with ground beef which he describes and well seasoned and perfectly deep fried. Which means to say it was crisp, but not overly so. Comes with rice and beans where again perfectly seasoned. I had the California Burrito with the grilled steak. I had a heck of a time choosing what to get though! Others recommend the Carne de Asada, and I wanted to try the Pirate Plate, however the burrito was calling mè llamo. The steak had fantastic flavor which was accented by the grilled onions inside and covered in a white cheesy blanket of heaven. The chips and salsa were also a hit. You guessed it, this place is a home run!!! Hope it stays in business for years to come. Service was excellent and food came out fast. Heard others telling the waitress how wonderful their drinks and food were too. Muy Bièn!!!!!!
