I only have two malls i consistently go in San Diego, the Fashion Valley Mall and the UTC Mall…read more However, UTC mall is more of a leisure... to walk around and kill time, for my son to play at the playground, for the festivities on the holiday season especially Xmas, to have family fun dates and good food experiences at nearby restaurants and the mall I always go to every time I have issues with my Apple iPhone and techs. The fashion Valley Mall tho, is my main mall. This is the mall where I actually do most of my shopping. We watch movies at the AMC theater when we have extra time and get food at the cafeteria/food court area after hours of walking. My son never misses going inside the Laderach to get a free taste, the best chocolate there is. We love going to this mall, especially with my son now being a teenager, we would most likely be doing lots of our shopping activities here especially at his favorite boutiques, like the zumies, Hollister, Rayban, and plenty others I do not recall.... We also love going to The escape room where the mall is. My favorite is the Nordstrom Rack! ;) The holidays tho could get really packed and busy but there's alot of nice things to see and lots of good deals to look forward to.

Hello May!! Came to…read moreFashion Valley on what must've been an off Sunday because...where was everybody? I hadn't been here in years, fully prepared to fight for parking, but jokes on me. Endless spots to park! That's a first! Are malls dead now? How are stores surviving? Anywhoo, I still spent more than planned. Damn you, Sephora! Pros: *Surprisingly easy parking (a rare mall miracle) *Huge mix of stores from bougie to budget - Louis Vuitton, Coach, Hollister, Macy's, Nordstrom's, Neiman Marcus, H&M, Zara, and Gucci to name a few *Open-air vibe with palm trees; very San Diego aesthetic with a tropical feel; complete with fountains and artistic landscaping *Solid food options with a food court, cafes, and kiosks, Cheesecake Factory, Seasons 52, and my fav, True Food Kitchen *Clean and well-maintained and easy to wander around *There's a lot of variety here to keep you entertained *They have seasonal events that is a nice addition to shopping Cons: *Felt oddly empty for a Sunday..kinda eerie but it may be an introvert paradise *Dangerous for your wallet (you will overspend) *Some stores seem like they're hanging on by a thread *Malls just don't hit like they used to despite the pros- mainly because everything has gone up! Shopping isn't as enjoyable when things cost an arm and a leg. Overall: 3.5 Stars - Still one of the nicer malls around if you're in the mood to stroll, shop, and accidentally blow your budget (Guilty!). Would I come back? Only if my bank account approves!

Hazard Center is a place that is the go between point that is the special place of the many great stores and the restaurants that have been bringing the many areas together. Hazard center has been the place where you could have great beer at Bj's restaurant and have the many deserts that can be found at the coffee shops that are located at the front and the bookstore of Waldenbooks great place for Starbucks. The many teachers that travel the many areas of San Diego to find the special teaching things that are needed for class you can find at the Apple Box store which has so many things to broaden a student's mind. My first item to purchase, a small lamp. This Home Goods store offered many styles-15 minutes to decide. Second, and just for fun, foodstuffs. Imported Mafalde con archetto, a lasagna styled ruffled edge pasta. Cut to approximately 1/3 the width of actual lasagna noodles, I'm looking to create something unusual- thank you Falco of Naples, Italy. I also found Bobo's wild berry stuffed oat bites-soft, vegan chewy goodness. The highlight of this trip was the polyester satin pillowcases. Labeled as gentle for skin and hair, great for allergy sufferers and machine washable-YES, all three are true. I only wish I had purchased them before I bought this months allergy meds. So far, the pillowcases appear to be enough. A fun shopping experience if you have the time, but today I removed a star for the unbelievably long wait to get to a cash register-the wait was easily over 20 minutes. Free parking lot. Good prices. Plenty of variety. Clean, well stocked store. Nice customer service people.

The Costco Gas station gets really busy on the weekends and in the afternoons. The best time to hit the gas station is in the early morning. On the weekends, it can be backed up on Friar's Road. They have added more pumps but the location is not ideal for the amount of customer they serve on a daily basis. San Diego's only IKEA is located here. Luckily the parking lot is large enough to accommodate the traffic of both the IKEA and Costco. Lowe's is the other anchor store here. Parking by the Starbucks's is tight in the morning with everyone getting their caffeine fix. Surprisingly, this location has no drive thru considering how busy the location is. The four way intersection right next to it is confusing as those entering do not have a stop while the three other do. Oggi's, Islands, Luna Grill, IHOP, a chinese take out, and Cold Stone are the main places to eat. On the other end by Costco Gas, are a sushi restaurant and McDonald's. Also, there is the Costco food court and IKEA cafe for cheaper alternatives. Hidden in the corner by the IKEA is a public library. It is the only place that has a security guard. Overall, the there is a lot to do here but it is not pedestrian friendly. Drivers are a little aggressive when driving through the mall.
