Of the many places that I have seen many times there is one thing when you come to the valley its one place you can feel the spirit of the builder that put his heart into constructing this great place which a brings a taste of the of the Greek Pillars and the construction. When you come to the many malls that have great importance you can understand that the many years a place that had been built for such a great purpose a great gift for the city of San Diego. Hazard Center is a place that is the go between point that is the special place of the many great stores and the restaurants that have been bringing the many areas together. Hazard center has been the place where you could have great beer at Bj's restaurant and have the many deserts that can be found at the coffee shops that are located at the front and the bookstore of Waldenbooks great place for Starbucks. The many teachers that travel the many areas of San Diego to find the special teaching things that are needed for class you can find at the Apple Box store which has so many things to broaden a student's mind. The many foods restaurant's that you can go to and to have the best barbecue of the Ranch House Barbecue that has the feel of the western feel. There are many empty businesses that were the businesses that had helped with the kids' groups and the many businesses office that were in the midst of medical and the areas of fed express. The red brick architecture and the columns which give a Greek feel and the length of the mall which creates a great business area in the valley the look of a Greek castle that has the valley between two shopping districts. There is one thing that makes Hzard Center of the best is where you can go to an art theater to watch some of the best movies and the many great foreign that have been shown many times, they host film showcases. Since the starting of the many Trolleys were built into the valley the commercial traffic for the valley. From the many times that I have visited with Hazard Center has been many great visits and the many times of having time of going to the Ranch House Barbecue Hazard Center has been one place where you can go shop and have a great lunch all in one day. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer there have been many malls that have shown so many things in history and the welcoming of movie celebrities that have come for San Diego Movie Awards which has been shown many times. I ended up at the Hazard center because of the Woodranch BBQ and grill that I yelped. It is a very nice two level, outdoor shopping center. A very nice variety of dining and shopping is offered here. Parking and finding your way to desired places is very simple. Everything is within walking distance. Hassle free parking, very clean and easy access to highway 163. Yes, parking is free. Only downside I noticed was the many transients in the area. A fellow yelper also stated the same issue. I think it is because of the nearby trolly. I rarely come to this theatre and now I know why. BEWARE: Security BREAKS INTO VEHICLES here. When we went to report it security immediately asked us if there were any signs of someone breaking into my vehicle like "broken glass." I said no. Which was odd. Everything was thrown around inside though and some items were missing. I asked security how often they patrol and why it mattered if there were "signs" of someone breaking in. They stated they patrol the parking lot constantly (at least every hour they said) to make sure things like this didn't happen. 1) I always lock my vehicle. 2) There was a mark on my driver's side from where they stuck a hanger in to open it up which I was able to see once I got home. Hence no VISIBLE signs. 3) If they always patrol then how did this happen? As I'm speaking to them I ask for a report number. They straight up said that nothing would happen despite their being a few items that were stolen and they DO NOT do reports. One of them even changed his story twice from telling me no break-ins ever happen in the parking lot to they happen occasionally. When I told them I was going to call the cops for a report - which I did - they really got nervous. Could this be a coincidence that they are just the worst security guards ever and make even the guys from "Friday After Next" look like real cops? Definitely. But who the HELL would want to come here knowing that? Do NOT keep any valuables in your vehicle. Locking does not help. Side-note: The kicker is that I know someone who used to work in this building. His vehicle was broken into the same exact way but he never reported it because he didn't think much of it. They stole his cologne and checkbook. read more

I come here often to this modest shopping center, only because of the Lakeshore Learning store. I find myself here at the beginning of each school year, so I have to say I am pleased with the center. The multilevel structure and parking is a little awkward but it works. I usually come in off Mission Center road were traffic can be a pain most of the day, especially during rush hours. Funny thing is, if you do not go park all the way to the west side of the parking lot, you would never know that business such as the Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill was there. The parking lot offers approximately 2,000 parking spaces some that are exposed to the element and others that are covered or underground with integrated EV charging stations. The center sports the Ultrastar Cinemas on the bottom level and the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. For eats, which are always on my radar, the center has a number of places to dine. BJ's and Wood Ranch are the newest tenants, along with a number of other places like Smashburger, Which Wich, Joe's Crab Shack, and I can't forget Yougurtland! I like yogurt. It may not be a terrific shopping center, but it's definitely not a bad one. It's a-okay in my book. read more

Hazard Center has issues with parking. It can be really confusing for a first-time visitor, so keep that in mind as you head over. There's a variety of places to spend your money here, including several food places, a FedEx, the UltraStar Cinemas (a great place to see first-run movies on a budget), Barnes & Noble, and other useful establishments. But today I was just coming for lunch, and there were plenty of parking spaces available in the front, just off Friars Road. But, of course, there's no access off Friars Road! You have to head towards the big office building, make a quick right, or miss the front parking entirely. The mall does have significant parking in the back, but if you don't know it is there, good luck finding it. You have to go past the mall on Frazee Road, to the south side, and drive between the San Diego River and the back of the buildings. I believe the tragically-expensive San Diego Trolley has a stop here. Don't expect a Fashion Valley experience here. Not even a Mission Valley Mall experience. In a lot of ways, this is like an expanded strip mall, and it could probably use a make-over for better functionality. A friend of mine posted "I wasn't aware that Hazard Center is slated to be torn down for more condos". That was three years ago, and the mall is still standing! I guess we can blame it on the economy, but I would not be surprised to find it simply gone one day. I won't shed any tears... read more

I often think that Hazard Center is overlooked as a choice place to hang out. However I think it has a lot to offer. Right in one little area there are actually quite a few options for places to eat. In a variety of types of food and prices. Joes Crabshack, Applebees, BJ's Brewhouse, Smashburger, a few sandewich shops and coffee shops. Added to the mix a Barnes & Noble. And a movie theater. The is also near other larger shopping center and centrally located. Parking in the evenings could be a little more challenging on a weekend night. All in all not a bad place to check.out. read more

Hazard Center is the mall that God forgot about. It is nestled in-between Fashion Valley and Mission Valley malls and it feels very neglected. Their are two things that I go to there: Quizno's and the movie theater. The rest of the mall is like ten times worse then most malls. There are children's stores as well as a Kinkos and a Joe's Crab Shack. There are some various other crap stores that aren't even worth the time to mention. I would recommend the theater as nobody goes there and they have cheap matinee shows. Grab a five dollar sub at Quizno's and sneak it into the picture and there you have a nice little afternoon... especially if your into theater hopping... read more

Went here to check out some arts and crafts at Brookstone. They had activities and crafts in front of the store which is on the second level. The lady was showing the kids how to make a bird out of some cups, feathers and eyes. Very cool. I have also been here to watch movies. I normally don't come here to hang out. There are a few good places to eat here which I have not tried. There is a Joe's Crab Shack, Yogurtland, and a few other eateries here. This location has a parking structure. I think that parking spaces were pretty tight as in narrow. It seems as though there are not a lot of people who come to this location since Fashion Valley and Mission Valley seem to attract more people. It is also not as crowded. There are many buildings around Hazard Center and the views are amazing! read more

Really not much to do here.... I usually come around when there's a movie premier, SDAFF or for Yogurtland. Parking is small, but ample (if you're ok to walk). Spaces are small also, so you may get door dings, scratches, etc... At least it's less crowded then the average shopping centers and they have quite a few eating establishments that will hopefully bring in business. I understand that there will be demolishing HC in the next few years. It'll be a good thing since this center is really dated and needs a face lift. read more

Tucked away from the glitz of Fashion Valley, this semi-quiet mall located towards Qualcomm Stadium sure needs some renovating. It's hard to drive into Hazard Center, and it's a bit harder to park there (though the below street level parking is just fine). The only reasons I come out here are valid ones - Ultrastar Cinemas is a nice change of pace from Edwards Cinemas near my place or the AMC 20 at the nearby Mission Valley Mall (and not to mention a bit cheaper on certain days). Smashburger's good, and I do like Randy Jones' BBQ. While I haven't had a chance to go to the Barnes and Noble location, perhaps after a movie I'll stop by. I wasn't aware that Hazard Center is slated to be torn down for more condos - can the place just be renovated instead? read more

Quite the hidden gem in Mission/Fashion Valley. Just a hop, skip and jump from Fashion or Mission Valley. Literally one trolley stop between both. A nice strip mall located between Mission Valley and Fashion Valley mall. It has a nice mixture of shops where you can spend some time instead of rushing in and out. It has the only bookstore located in the Valley (at least I can not think of any bookstore located nearby), two coffee shops, a sandwich, burger, seafood, and casual dining establishments. Yes, parking can be tight but if you park closer to the hotel, there is a lot more parking and one can some exercise and walk on over to the other side of the complex. I understand the movie theatre may be going away in several years due to some upcoming road construction in the area. Not sure about that but I like the theatre here because it is hardly ever busy. I'm pretty sure that I'm pretty much inebriated as I type this so bear with me as I vent. When you think about the current state of our economy, shopping frivolously for a holiday that seems so commercialized and hellbent on making you feel as if you are obligated to spend an exorbitant amount of money on friends, family and loved ones, in order to show them that you do indeed care for them and that you have taken precious time out of your life to bequeath them with lavish or not so lavish gifts or tokens of affection, maybe you could take a moment or two and think about what the holidays are really about and what they mean to you and the people around you. There are children starving in the US of A and other countries. We have homeless people freezing in our own neighborhoods and backyards. People are losing their jobs, their livelihoods and the ability to take care of themselves and their family. We have acquaintances and loved ones overseas that are fighting a war that no one holds in high regards and a war that no one fully understands. All we know is that we want our friends and loved ones back home and that we should cease and desist the military activities overseas and concentrate on the problems in our own country. I could go on and on but I wont. I'm not even sure why my rant is aimed towards Hazard Center. Its not a very busy mall and its sandwiched between two heavy hitters, those two being Fascist Valley and Miserable Valley. I hate holiday shopping. Hazard center is appropriately named for what t is for parking, A HAZARD. The parking here is ridiculous, I hate to come here. They have a few decent places to visit, but generally I avoid this place. I use to come here all the time for the Starbucks, but thankfully I have found a different job that does not cause me to enter this parking trap. They do have underground parking, but I always seem to be farther away from the shops, then what should be considered reasonable. Also the Barnes and Noble here is ridiculously small, and the movie theater smells like cats. Literally it smells like there are cats living in the theater. I'm giving 4 stars for this place because if you are going to a Chargers game, then this is the place you need to go to park (because it's FREE!), and then take a tram straight to the stadium. The tram conveniently picks up every 10 minutes and then takes you to the game in another 10 minutes for $5! As far as the shops here, there are a lot of fast food joints and and dessert shops but nothing too impressive worth noting. read more

I love this place! On weekends when you know Fashion and Mission Valley Malls will be super crowded, you can come here for plentiful parking, and enjoy several nice stores. For food, we like the Applebees here b/c it's always clean and fast, and Yougurtland is addictive! For shopping, I love the Barnes and Noble at this location because it's quiet, like a bookstore should be! For entertainment, the movie theater, while lacking headrests, is rarely packed and has all kinds of discounts: early bird, student, military, cheap Tuesdays, and sometimes you can find coupons in the Trib. Had a very busy day in San Diego during a recent trip. The Hazard Center was the right place at the right time! Smash Burger and Starbucks looked really tempting, but we needed to get off our feet and relax. Joe's Crab Shack, as always, provided the respite our weary bones needed. I see that they've added a BJ's, so I know where our next visit will take us. With the Ultra Star Cinemas and Barnes & Noble bookstore on site, it would be easy to spend a very pleasant afternoon here. read more

Free parking, lots of good places for lunch/dinner, well situated...I come to Hazard Center for work occasionally in the nearby office building, and like that I only have to park my car once, because I can pretty much walk anywhere I need to go for a break or lunch or a book or a movie. I like this shopping center. It has several restaurants, a bookstore, a Kinkos, a dance studio, a movie theater, and its own trolley station. It usually has plenty of parking. It's a nice small place compared to the nearby malls. read more

My sister in law went to hazard center to visit lakeshore learning store. On the escalator going up from the street level my 10 year old daughters' boot got caught in the escalator stair and ripped her boot from the top of her boot all the way to the top of the foot. When it was reported to security, they said they were happy she wasn't hurt. Mall management was notified and their only option was to offer us free movie tickets. My concern as a parent is that their faulty escalator ripped the leather boot right off my child's leg and they were unwilling to replace the destroyed boots. I can't imagine if a person were wearing sandals or flip flops, they would be missing toes! My child is now anxious about escalators, but not to worry, we won't be coming back here, and I'll be telling all of our family and friends not to shop here either. read more

Well Here is a Shopping Center located in Mission Valley . I will say this Shopping Center Has some nice Stores like Barnes & Noble Bookshop and They even got a Movie Theater here also . Plus they got a FedEx Print Shop here in case you need to print or copy something . In this shopping center there is a Trolly Station for you to take the Trolly also . Couple of cool places to eat in this Shopping Center also !! You have to check it out !! The parking here is not bad !! There is underground Parking for you to park . As you drive in there are speed bumps for you to control your speed . Plus there is of course a Starbucks !! In case you need to pick up that cup of coffee !! I do suggest you use the Trolly Station here for Padres Games !! It is very Convenient !! Because it will take you straight to Petco Park and bring you back also . Just park in the underground Parking and head towards the Trolly Station . There are Benches for you to sit and wait for Trolly . My overall Experience about this Mall is I like it and I Allways use the Trolly Here !!! read more

Of the beg of the rest I know little of this place -little for two times visit. Parking obviously confusing as a business center -location good for eating little. Hazard Center is like the outlets of Mission Valley. Situated right between Fashion and Mission Valley mall centers, it's almost like it is home to the misfits of shops that couldn't get a lease at either of the above-mentioned malls. That being said, this place is actually pretty nice and much more low key than the surrounding area. Worst part about this place is the parking, which can be horrific at times, especially if you have to park near an area that reeks of raw sewage and garbage. Also, as neat as it is, there isn't a whole lot to do here if you're looking to just walk around, explore or pass the time. But overall, Hazard Center is a nice shopping center in Mission Valley, it's very clean and well maintained. I've never thought of Hazard Center as a "mall." To me, it's just a reminder of the poor economy. There's 3 places that I've been to here - Clothestime, Ginza Sushi and The Wherehouse - that all have one thing in common.... They're all CLOSED. Daylight Robbery on Weekend! Beware!! I got robbed of my cell phone on Oct 1 2016 (Saturday) around 2:30 PM right in front of Lakeshore. I was sitting on the bench using my cell phone. One African American guy snatched my cell phone from my hand and ran away. I cannot believe how this is happening in the day time on weekend in the mall. I met zero security on this property even if I was with Police officer for about an hour after the incident (Some witnessed people reported 911 immediately). I have serious concerns on the security of this property. Do not visit this mall especially with kids!! Their property representative also confirmed that they are not responsible for this kind of crime (I contacted them later) and asked me to check my own insurance! read more

Great shopping center. In stores great prices. But you almost will need a lot to go to the food court.

To me the Hazard Center gets forgotten with all the Westfield malls around nowadays. It lies somewhere in between a strip mall and a full fledged one. There is underground parking so it provides more parking that it's plot of land would normally provide it's a little strange, but not bad. There aren't a plethora of shops here, I'd probably never come to just browse, just if I had a specific store that happened to be here. In the end I imagine the place to be an early prototype of current day malls, bonus is that there aren't many people here unless there's a big movie coming out or the Film Festivals that show here. read more

If you're tired of paying for parking then you're going to like Hazard Center. While it's not the easiest to get in or out at times, it provides pretty good access and free parking to all stores. I've been to almost half of the stores there over the years, which means I keep coming back. The movie theaters are priced great with their specials with available seats for most shows. Starbucks is there and close to the Barnes & Noble, so if you like to drink coffee and browse books, you'll be happy. I've been to Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Design several times for jewelry repair to appraisals and purchases - they are great too. Overall, I really like Hazard Center. read more

My boyfriend rode my brand new folding bike to Starbucks for coffee and in less then a minute, he turned around and the bike was gone. Starbucks called security and they took a report and now they won't release to us. A police report was also made. There was one witness to the event, and he said it was a black male who took it but the witness was afraid to say anything. Previous reports also notes a thief. I agree with the 3 star rating here. Up top parking is tight and packed except for the tons of room by Randy Jones; the downstairs usually isn't bad. The shopping isn't bad, mix of chains and smaller shops. Good access to the trolley. read more
