She truly has become family over the years and always goes the extra mile for her "kids". It was really hard finding someone to trust with our tiny baby and I cannot express how happy we were to find Ms Bettye. During our 1st encounter it was like catching up with an old friend and I knew this is where we belonged. I am tearing up writing this because of the impact she has made on our family, its truly immeasurable. We also recommended her to our friends and family and had 3 kids join us and they all get that Nana BJ influence now as well! At drop off you can smell the homemade food cooking which was a huge bonus not having to worry about meals, she makes sure everyone is eating and eating well. The day is very structured and she really makes sure everyone is learning and having fun in a safe way. Now that my daughter is in big school, she is extremely advanced compared to her peers. She has been writing her own name and counting to 100 since she had just turned 3. I would recommend Bj and the Bears to anyone looking for a safe, loving bonus family to care for their child! We miss you Ms Bettye and will always hold a special place in our heart for you.

My youngest son started with Nana BJ when he was just one year old, and I immediately knew he was in the best hands. Not long after, my oldest son joined as well and stayed until he transitioned to preschool. Most recently, our youngest was promoted too and every step of the way, Nana BJ made it feel like a family celebration. Her home became like our home. From the very beginning, she welcomed not just my children, but me as a mother too. She created a space where my kids could grow, learn, and thrive. She reassured me so I could feel at peace knowing they were safe, nurtured, and loved. Nana BJ pours her heart into every child she cares for. She has a beautiful balance of structure and tenderness, and her passion for early childhood development is unmatched. Whether it was learning activities, playtime, or daily routines, my children were constantly growing socially, emotionally, and academically. Even now, Nana BJ continues to check in on them because that's just who she is. She became family, and that's something we'll always treasure. If you're looking for a place where your child will be truly seen, loved, and uplifted, BJ and The Bears is it. Bless her heart for all she does. We love you, Nana BJ!

However, the village staff did an excellent job making sure mama bear was at ease with the new transition. After the first week at the village, I noticed my child was talking a lot more. A huge difference from the previous child care my child was attending that did not stimulate him at all. My child was talking more and interacting with others to the point I am upset I didn't find this place sooner. LEARNING: After the first month, my child learned all of his colors and was able to count to 20. I owe it all to the Village for making learning and playing fun. The Village has a classroom and huge play areas for children to explore. The Village prepares children for school by reading, counting, coloring, singing, and providing structure. PLAY/FUN- my child was always by the door and ready to leave his previous daycare provider. At the Village, has so much fun it's sometimes hard to get him to leave. The staff always has a fun day planned- from water day to Dr. Seuss Day. CLEANLINESS- this place is immaculate and very well organized. Common areas are always cleaned and sanitized. I wish my home was as clean as this place. I would recommend the village to any parent. It was the best decision I made for my child sending him there. Any of my future children I would send to the Village. I was finally able to exhale and know my child was in good hands. Ms. Dee and the teachers truly love what they do. Prior to signing up Miss Tina and Miss Shirley greeted us and out little guy with open arms. Immediately we felt very comfortable with the people and the place. I could only describe it as a "mama's house" feeling. As the year progressed we noticed that the care providers we very active in the kids' care but did not hover. They allowed the kids to manage minor conflicts and then taught them discipline and courtesy so the conflicts wouldn't happen again. Miss Shirley was also well versed in the Benicia K and TK system so she went to workshops all the time to stay updated. She wanted to make sure the kids were prepared for their elementary school endeavors. And for the families they were even more welcoming, holding family events throughout the year to keep everyone involved. I have an older child who went to preschool elsewhere and families tended to keep to themselves at events with minor interaction and participation. At Tender Hearts, families participated in pot lucks and willingly made donations to help enhance the kids' experience. Their pre-care and after-care was just another huge bonus for working families! And now that my son is in TK, I saw that him and other Tender Hearts students were amongst the most cooperative and behaved kids the first days. I am very confident that the values he learned at Tender Hearts will continue to guide him through elementary school, which he is well prepared for!

Mrs. Tina and Chester are more than teachers to our kids, they are family. They taught my youngest how to be a leader and an extraordinary helper! I can't wait to send my daughter here. I can't say enough good things about them. Every teacher there is so awesome, and you can tell they really love the kids.

This review is for Miss Cassie's location…read more My son has been attending here for the past two years, and our experience has been wonderful! The level of care, love, and knowledge Miss Cassie and her staff have shared with our little guy is more than I could have asked for. Cassie has a special way of making each child feel valued and understood. She is patient, nurturing, and has a unique ability to connect with the kids. She treats all the children equally and with so much care, making it feel like a second home for them. My son has learned so much here. My family is always impressed with how much our little guy knows--he can name the planets and even distinguish the differences between them! He's learned how to write and spell his name, identify continents and landmarks around the world, and, most importantly, Miss Cassie has helped him manage big feelings, which has been a challenge for us. Although my son is starting pre-k, we've decided to keep him here one day a week because of how much he enjoys it. If I had another baby, I'd definitely bring them here. Thanks to everything he's learned, he's more than prepared for the next step. I can't thank Miss Cassie and her staff enough for being such a positive and supportive light in my son's life!

Baby MacBean was AMAZING! You won't find a better daycare. They implemented a curriculum--even at…read morethe infant level--that included sensory activities, art, reading, and science. My son was actively engaged every day with painting, dancing, growing plants, cooking lessons, and story time. By 18 months, my son knew four colors, spoke in 3-4 word meaningful sentences, asked questions, had a vocabulary of well over 100 words, could name a dozen animals and their sounds, played pretend, and could identify a word on each page of his favorite books. He cleaned up his toys when asked, apologized when he hurt someone, said please and thank you, and even cleared his own dishes and wiped his spot at the table after dinner. That kind of independence and empathy at such a young age was extraordinary--and entirely due to the care and structure Miss Cassie provided. By age 4, my son was reading, writing his name, cutting complex shapes, counting to 100, and could name all the planets in the solar system along with their characteristics, among many other advanced skills. If you want your child to gain lifelong social-emotional skills and enter kindergarten well above grade level, this is the place. The waitlist can be long, but Miss Claudia does her best to accommodate working parents.

After around two and half it was about time for try this again more so for her to be engaged and learning while being productive. They were a fairly new daycare but that didn't worry me none knowing they are amazing parents to amazing little girls of their own. My daughter has now been there for over 9 months and she has learned so much. It is structured, they do a lot of hands on projects incorporating learning in ways the kids are having fun. She loves going to school and talks about her friends daily, coming home telling me about what Ms. Jazz or Mr. Nathan had helped her with. She's progressed so much with her forming sentences and understanding I sometimes can't believe she's only three. They do fun events as well, from a weekly dance class, holiday parties, free dress Fridays... etc. In the short, if you are looking for an amazing school, where your child will thrive and continuously learn in a safe clean environment this is the place to send them! My children are three-year-old twins and they love it and they love providers and the children there the quality is invaluable. Their morals, their and what they stand for your child couldn't be in a better place. I think eventually she's gonna open a couple more once you get a dose of this real and real family setting there will be no place like home thank you guys so much for everything you have done and also the teaching is impeccable. They try their hardest to align your work schedule with their hours and make it so easy for a parent to work and have for their children and a lot of providers. Don't do that so they go above and beyond and it's so appreciated words can't even describe. I'm gonna be sad when they grow out of going there. I can go on and on and on about how the service is and also they make all holiday special for the children and I think that is one of the greatest things how they go again above and beyond. Teaching playing everything you need life skills if you need it the service is done.
