I was walking my dogs because the area is super walkable and I saw that Sweeney Todd would be coming soon. I love the musical so I searched the website and got tickets as soon as possible. I went to see Sweeney Todd on a rainy Halloween night. Perfect vibes! The staff were welcoming and told me where my seat was and where I could find the restroom upstairs. Theres a mini bar with snacks and drinks, but I recommend bringing your own bottled water since they charge $3. They also have a water fountain, so no worries. The auditorium is wide and spacious and the seats ascend upward, so most seats are a good seat, but nothing beats center stage. I sat in row D, seat 104. I think seats C and beyond are best. The seats are very comfortable which is nice for a theatre that's over 100 years old. Overall, it was a great experience and Sweeney Todd the cast, ensemble, orchestra, and director did a phenomenal job! I'm excited to come back!

I recently had a chance to visit when a show called Marvelous came into town and while it is definitely an older theater the sound was good, every seat is a good one in terms of the view. The seats aren't necessarily the most comfortable but based on it being classic, you can expect that, but the staff and the concessions are great and it was really just a lovely experience. I was able to get parking on the next block for $15 at a paid parking lot or if you're lucky you might be able to find street parking some of the meters are free in the evening or if you want to take a little bit of a further walk, you might be able to find free neighborhood street parking as well.

Popped into this shoebox theater to see some stellar local comedians and support a friend of a friend doing a set here and was pleasantly hahaha. Tickets are only $5 and include a beverage of choice in the non-alcoholic and/or craft brew family... LA Croix and Hard Kombucha... Could this be anymore LA? Don't answer that because it couldn't lol even down to the limited parking in the area. Street is recommended to avoid any towage and there is some of that especially if you arrive early. Usually only room for three chairs to a row on both sides of the theater so if you bring a friend or two you can most likely sit together as my roommate, his girlfriend and I did. Everyone was really friendly, fun and the Tarzana Boys who headlined did a great job as the MCs. There is a restroom in the backroom for before and after shows. The acoustics are pretty solid being a 25 to 30 person space. Definitely will come back and support. Solid spot for a date or just get out of the house night.

We saw that there was a play called Jane Austen Unscripted being held outside the theater in back of the building. 8 of us decided to go and got a table just in front of the stage. It was lunchtime and local stores and restaurants provided some munchies, one per person, like fruit tarts, berry scones, a cupcake and cucumber tea sandwich. When reading the "program" we saw it was going to be improv with members of the Impro Theater, and as we've been to improvs before we know that it can be great or not so much. We, and every table at the show, thought it was a fantastic show. The actors did a great job that had us laughing and enjoying it to the 10-star degree. We understand that there's a bit of a different show based on the actors and audience response, but our show was great! It's still playing for a little while so if you can and like Jane Austin and improvisation definitely go see it!

Great cast and overall performance. Engaging, fast paced drama with lots of funny moments and some oddball characters you might find in a dive bar. As for the venue, the Sunday performances require masks and when a customer in front of me inquired about it the staff member indicated that they offer Sundays for those customers who want to wear masks. Doesn't make sense to me because if a customer wants to wear a mask during any performance in this venue they should be able to. Upon that said, there were a few customers not wearing any masks (again, makes no sense). The other con is they offer refreshments for sale at reasonable prices; however, you cannot take them into the theatre. I have only been to one other theatre that did not allow food nor drinks so you have to arrive early if you want refreshments or you can purchase during the intermission but have to hurry to finish up. Although staff was friendly and informative, the venue was cramped although plenty of seating is available. I doubt I will patronize this theatre again unless it was a "to die for" performance showing.
