And what better way to have lunch than in a castle? Mock castle that is, but it's amazing all the same. The view from the top reveals everything the park has to offer, including the amazing waters of Jew Fish Bay. But amongst its many swimming opportunities, the park also has some great windy bike and walking tracks and a great playground for the kids to enjoy while the adults relax on the nearby grass. Overall, a great way to spend the day without having to worry about money. Make sure you're out of the grounds before the boom gates close,because without any lights for hundreds of metres, it can get a little bit spooky.

You can walk, ride a bike, fly a Kite, throw a frisbee, chase a friend around with a stick or just have a picnic. There is a kids play area with lots of fun equipment ..... BBQ facilities ..... and lots of bush walks to explore. You can enjoy the bush or get closer to the water and enjoy the lovely views across the bay. Joey had a great time, did not get lost ..... felt awkward walking past teenagers making out ..... and felt closer to nature ..... closer than I planned but still a fun few hours out.

I take my puppy here for walks everyday, and it's wonderful, although like in most parks, all dogs must be leashed before they are allowed in. The lawn and trees are well manicured, there are benches to sit on, there are wide open spaces to run around in, there are walkways to ride along if you're on a bike, and there is a raised platform/stage in the middle of the park, where the local high school kids sometimes hang out. The park is situated right beside a bowls court, where there are always cheerful old ladies having a game. There is also a small playground in one corner near the courts, where you can take your children to play. Or you can even have a play there yourself, if you're not sufficiently grown up! No judgement here.

Growing up in Bexley some of my greatest childhood memories took place in this park. For the kids, there are an aimless number of activities; from playing on the equipment, kicking a ball around on the huge open field or bike riding on the paved footpath. For adults, the footpath is open for bicycles or runners, but the sheer enjoyment of peace and quiet while the kids play should make any parent sigh with relief. Besides the huge open grounds, winding bicycle trails and two separate playgrounds, the park also offers cricket pitches and Bexley Oval for everyone to enjoy. So whether you're just there for a quiet picnic or for entertainment for the kids, Bexley Park will always be a big winner in everyone's books...especially mine.

Then there is a huge slide complex with some very cool looking slides. There is a flying fox, and other area with activities suitable for smaller children. Highly recommend!
