Friels interior has a lovely old pub feel with two bars ( hopping on weekends ), a fireplace, wooden benches. Comfy and cozy. It is well known as a venue for traditional Irish music. When we were there on a winter Thursday, three musicians came in to play, as much for their own enjoyment, as for everyone else. Great ! The pub is run by the charming Jonny and his father. Jon also owns the Townhouse, a lodging with 5 or 6 en-suite bedrooms, down on Main Street. Excellent value.

I had the veggie curry and it was absolutely delicious, as well as the brie wedges which I tried to share with my husband, but failed. My husband had the Irish beef special, (I'm a vegetarian so I apologize for the lack of details on what he actually ordered), and he said it was one of his favorite meals during our entire 10-day vacation. This was just our restaurant experience, which was perfect. It's also a really fun and inviting atmosphere with incredible music if you just want to go out for a couple of pints of creamy Guinness. Everyone is so nice, and you'll feel at home as soon as you head to the pub or the restaurant. Just save room for dessert either way, because it will be worth it. Lovely people, perfect service and hospitality, and a wonderful time with every visit. :) Going to the Westbridge is always a highlight of our County Clare getaway, every year. :)
